hi from Corfu ! also found you via Arnak. what a fresh feeling watching & listening to somebody that has something to give ! I am learning. I enjoy boardgames after 5 to 20 plays most of the time...and today, UA-cam is like a Kleenex, they play Mage Knight once... just wanted to say continue and thank you. I will watch more.
Found your channel through Arnak, and just started playing GWT so was glad to see vids on it, and now that you are making more too! Keep it up, would love to see more playthroughs with your explanations, should check out your streams some time.
@@UpUrPlay I always found the resources in Arnak hard to value, but you really put it in perspective with your evaluations :) What time would that be around on Thursday?
nice video - as always. I have seen you different take on the three different strategies, and tried to execute them all (some more succesfull than others). One of my main challenges in this game is choosing which strategy to pick. While this depends on other players also and how the game flows, there are some initial pointers as you point out. So I'm hoping for a video discussing how to pick a strategy. E.g. by showing a few different setups and discussing how well the different strategies would work and which starting tile to pick.
I could make such a video. The problem, which is part of the beauty of the game, is that it's more important to know when and if to pivot later on than it is to choose a starting hire
@@UpUrPlay Absolutely - some examples and insights of that aspect would also be great. I visualise it as different steps on the learning curve. Executing a strategy is one thing, which your videos nicely cover. Knowing what strategy to pick is a level on top of that and realising that you need to change strategy requires even more insight.
If there's a Simmenthal available I always consider buying it before the first reshuffle, if it's doable without crippling my plans. Otherwise I might get a value 3 cow if I got a cowboy that I'm going to leave on a station later on, but I might also play without cows at all
@@iantaylor2331 In engineer games I normally go 0, 4, 6, 8, 10 12 if I get SMT. If I don't get many of them and I don't plan to get certificates thanks to buildings in hazard spots I go twice to KC and forfeit the 12 delivery. It's not easy to talk bout it in a vacuum though, it depends a lot on the read I have on the game
Hey, great video! When are you going to do a How to play Builders video? Another question, about the end of the video: surely double hiring 2 engineers is often suboptimal because you don't have two grey cows in hand to take advantage of the free discard actions?
It's been a while that I wanted to do it, I want to give it justice. It's going to be a bit more complex than the Cowboys and Engineers ones. And no, double hiring isn't suboptimal if you can't discard double jersey. Double hiring is almost always going to be one of the most efficient actions you're going to take in a game, it's fine if you don't take all the bonuses. You should ofc try to plan around getting them though
I loved it when it costed 1 less, and even then a lot of good players argued with me that it was too slow for engineers. Now it's definitely too slow, but it works in hybrids builders/engineers. If you love it, keep playing it! Let me know if you keep winning!
@@UpUrPlay ciao!
A volte ci provi costruendo sugli hazards paths, altre volte sblocchi l'azione ausiliaria
I love this game, and I am so glad your channel has this strategy guide for something I previously thought was underpowered.
Super helpful! Love your clear explanation. As a newbie to GWT I learned so much from this video!
@@MostVictoryPoints I'm glad you enjoyed it! Keep playing GWT, it's an awesome game
I’d love to see a full video on engineers in Argentina and NZ! Love your videos
Well thanks a lot! Let's see what I can do about it!

Thanks, it means a lot! And yes, I like to play a lot a few good games than to play a lot of games once

Glad to be useful! Hopefully this Thursday people will show up for a stream 4p game and I'll upload a new video!

Are you buying cows with engineer and if so which ones? Any other worker buys (2 builders/cowboys).?

Ok. Where do you aim to deliver at Kansas cities and how do you increase your value? Just certs perm and temp? What do you upgrade?

I really love the "get one head" and "move the train"-Building. I can build it in two steps with one builder. Why is this not worth doing?
