Convergence Research: Luca of the Dream

Multidisciplinary artist Daniel E. Zamora combines storytelling, sound engineering, projection art and music in Luca of the Dream, for March's Convergence Research. Reality blends with the mystical, as Luca, a fox from a spirit realm, weaves tales inspired by love, addiction, time, and joy. Through captivating soundscapes and Daniel's lived experiences, these stories traverse imagination and introspection, igniting profound insights.
Zamora is a graduate student in the Interdisciplinary Practices and Emerging Forms (IPEF) program in the School of Art. Inspired by the phenomenon of lived experience, storytelling, literature, and even fairy tales, his work’s themes vary from the fantastic and whimsical to the eerie, often depicting potent moments rich with wonder and possibility. This performance took place at the Blaffer Art Museum on March 27, 2024.
Convergence Research is a collaboration between the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts and the Blaffer Art Museum that supports students and faculty in the McGovern College of the Arts to explore connection and collaboration between the disciplines in the arts and beyond. This season, Convergence Research is curated by Mitchell Center Graduate Assistant Ji Won Chun. The Graduate Assistantship is a yearlong position designed for a graduate student in the College of the Arts or Creative Writing Program.
