Hola! I am leaving this comment because I feel that your videos are so underrated. They are so informative and well guided and I think you deserve more views. Thank you so much for this!
Very well produced video, shows the main sights of Segovia, which deserve to be visited. The Hotel San Antonio en Real caught my attention; looks wonderful!
Tony you are so right once again. Segovia is not to be missed! I visited Segovia as a very short day-trip from Madrid. Unfortunately I was there for only 5-6 hours and although I saw all the sights mentioned in the video I should had stayed a night and enjoy the town in a slower pace because it deserves it. A simply wonderful walkable historic town! Highly recommended! Loved the caramelized almonds I bought there!
Hola Tony!!! 😃 Segovia was one of my favorite cities that I got to visit in Spain. But wish I was able to spend more time exploring the city. I was really amazed with the Roman Aqueduct, that was so imposing. I also admired the beauty of the Cathedral and the lovely hidden courtyards. I remember sitting on the steps of the San Martin Church, ( the other church on your video) before proceeding to the Plaza Mayor. Not to forget, the Cochinillo and Cordero we had for lunch … that was another thing I won’t forget.👍 Segovia is worth another visit . Thanks for sharing another wonderful video. As I’ve mentioned before, It surely brings back fond memories . 😊
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Sogovia was wonderful. We took the bus from Moncloa metro station in Madrid and found it to be a great way to visit as the bus terminal in Segovia was very close to the historic center. It was a short walk to the aqueduct. I had the Judias de la Granja(bean stew) in a local restaurant, was very good. We found the Alcazar to be interesting inside as that was the first Spanish castle we had been to and there was also a museum as well as typical castle interior. I would consider staying in the town for a day to be less rushed.
Hi Dave, great to hear you liked Segovia, thanks for sharing your experience! We also prefer the bus over the high-speed train, we value the convenience of arriving in the centre of Segovia. Spending the night in Segovia is a wise choice, in our opinion. All the best!
Hola Tony thank you for the great videos. I think I've almost watched them all. We are going to Spain next month. Question: I was going to do a day trip to Toledo from Madrid but after seeing this video I'm thinking of maybe doing a Segovia/Toledo tour from Madrid. Should I do Toledo day trip or do the combo tour and see both cities since I only have one day for a day trip. Gracias for yr recommendations.
Hi Marcia, the day trip combining Toledo with Segovia is a terrible terrible choice. No one should buy it. Toledo needs a full day, there is absolutely no way you can combine it with another city. On that trip, you spend more time on the bus than visiting either of the two cities. All the best!
You will have to check the attractions you intend to visit, as Monday is the classic day for attractions to close. But the most popular ones open 7 days a week.
Hola Cecilia and Tony. Hopefully, all is well for the two of you. We are planning a trip to Spain in the summer, and your videos have been instrumental in how we plan to execute the trip. However, one question we do have is about Day Trip tours in Madrid and Barcelona. I know many websites like Viator and others promote Day Trours, and I guess they are ok. However, do you have a personal recommendation of a tour company that is both reputable and focuses not just on drive-by tourism? We like to take our time and not just rush thru the sites, if you know what I mean. Any help is appreciated. Gracias!!
Hello Edwin Antonio! Everything fine here, thank you! We feel day tours in Spain all fall within the description you gave, they will rush you through the places you visit and even find time for a stop at a souvenir stop. There isn't a day trip you cannot do on your own, that would be our advice. All the best!
Hi Tony, We are staying at the Iberostar in Madrid. I was going to book a trip to Segovia (I'm nuts for Roman culture.) I noticed that it's a 15 minute taxi to the train station, then the train. I'm also confusde by the train times it takes to get to Segovia. Is it a 1/2 hour or 2 1/2 hours? Then a bus ride from the train station to Segovia. This seems a little long and expensive. Do you have any advice? We'll be in Madrid on the 16 of May. Thank you.
Hi there, the trip by high-speed train is really fast (1/2 hour), but when you take into account the time needed to get from the station to the centre of Segovia, it ends up amounting to the same time as the bus trip to Segovia. Both are valid options to get to the city.
Hello, there is no Uber in Segovia. There should be taxis at the station waiting for arriving passengers. You will walk within the historic centre, you will not take any transport there.
Hola Tony, great video on Segovia, will try your itinerary when I'm there for a day trip from Madrid. 😍 🤔 Question: Is the "Friends of Segovia" tourist card 3Eur worth the buy? "Discounts are not combinable with other offers."
It's not a lot of money but you have to study carefully whether you are going to make use of any discounts at all. Only the discount for the Cathedral stands out as being useful.
Ready to make my third visit to this charming city. Your choices are perfect specially the mirador from San Marcos . How to visit the tomb of San Juan de la Cruz in the Convento? Should I including a side visit to Palace of La Granje of Sn Ildefonso., too?
Third visit to Segovia? That's great! San Juan de la Cruz rests at the Convento de las Carmelitas at Paseo del Segundo Rincón, 2. Opened Monday to Sunday from 10:00 to 13:30 and 16:00 to 20:30. It's a very pleasant walk from the centre of Segovia, the convent is right behind the Pradera de San Marcos. La Granja de San Ildefonso is beautiful when the fountains are operating, during the warmer months of the year. Given that is your third time in Segovia it could be a worthy detour.
I m planning a trip in April. Wish to have a day trip in Segovia when returning from Salamanca to Madrid. Therefore, is there any luggage lockers near Segovia Guiomar Station. Do you suggest day trip for Segovia or its worthwhile to stay a night🤔
Nicky, a night is always worthwhile in most Spanish cities, they are beautifully lit at night and the day tourists are gone. But if you had to make Segovia a day trip it wouldn't be the end of the world. There no luggage lockers at the railway station. You might find a few lockers at the bus station.
Yes and NO, don't come here for the Roman influence, as a pro photographer, the streets leading up to the Cathedral are better, BUT early, before all the tour groups from Madrid arrive, also, do it mid-week, NOT on weekends, I chase the light shards, and this works well before 9:30, as a street photographer I want minimalism, not hoards of amplified tour guides telling you what to look at, also, stay in the old city, not the cheaper fringe hotels near the Roman stuff....and if it showers or rains, MAGIC....
@@ms.alexis_15 it is outside the city so yes, it could be expensive. The palace and gardens are beautiful, specially when the fountains are running. Ask at the local tourist office for further advice (we don't have yet a video on the topic).

Both are incredible. Toledo has much more content than Segovia. For an easy-going day-trip, Segovia. For an intense one, Toledo.
You missed the hermitage of the Vera Cruz. Too important to miss.
