    Haha, i'm glad i'm not the only one who likes the really soft toys. Just so much more huggable. Hopefully doing this won't make them unsafe to use in a pool or around children though.
    I tweeted at you the other week but not sure if you saw it - Would you be able to show us how to properly deflate and store your toys? Most of us can't leave them inflated all the time and can only get them out every once in a while, so efficient storing is really import. I can never get all of the air out but even when I do, I never know how to roll/fold the toys to store them effectively. Any tips or videos you could release to show this?

      Plasticizer does usually make the vinyl weaker, so plasticized toys probably shouldn't be used by children as they are more likely to spring a leak. ATBC might also be mildly toxic, I belive all plasticizer are theorised to affect testosterone production... All inn all I'd keep it away from children.

    Very nice video, however i find it most impressive that you cloned yourself to demonstrate the difference in softness! 😂😂

    Will it recover vinyl fabric that lost original pasteurizers due to time "migration"? Not damaged yet but got crispier then original? And why it needs to be applied from inside, and not just outside? Not sure what side getting more damage with a time. Apart from "overdose" any negative effects in long run?

      Adding plasticizer to old vinyl is an excellent way of getting it back to its original soft state. Adding the plasticizer from the inside is simply a convenience because of how very long it takes to soak in. The plasticizer is an oily substance and can be quite messy if you try to apply it from the outside.

      @ from outside is more control, as it can be applied only to the damaged side. What I read before plasticizer migration is irreversible. Any advantage of this one comparing to classic ones, only being less toxic?

      Plasticizer loss is typically a gradual process that occurs uniformly over the whole toy. If you have a specific region that has become stiff that is usually contamination from oils such a skin oil and is sometimes irreversible. You can of course do as you are suggesting and treat only certain regions. ATBC has the advantage of being easy to find and non-toxic. There are other chemicals that work, but I cannot speak to them as I have no experience with them.

    Quick question: Is it possible the remove the softener without damaging the inflatable?

    • @HeathDragon
      @HeathDragon  Місяць тому

      Once plasticizer has soaked in I don't see an easy way to remove it. There are of course ways to make vinyl become stiffer if that is your goal. One of my previous videos shows what mineral oil does: ua-cam.com/video/kSdIvXgXe6s/v-deo.html

    can you show how to do the same to exercise ball that are stiff?

    • @HeathDragon
      @HeathDragon  2 місяці тому

      I believe most exercise balls are made from PVC just like pool toys. ATBC would likely soften a gym ball too, but I would worry that doing so might compromise the strength of the ball.

    Are they better to snuggle with?

    Using ATBC often encountered oily and sticky after applied on inflatable 😅

    • @HeathDragon
      @HeathDragon  Місяць тому

      ATBC is an oily substance so that is why I applied it to the inside by injecting it through the toy's valve. If to much is applied a maximum saturation can be reached and the excess will seep through the surface and not stay absorbed. Alternatively, some toys will preferentially absorb the ATBC causing other oily substances to seep out.

    Hello, i have an inflatable wyvern from hongyi and wanted to know something cause i have a problem.
    I live in small place and sometime the nose goes near the wall and scrath it. Now shes very rought on this part of the inflatable and i was thinking to put atbc. How can i make the head like before without putting atbc on all the inflatable ?

      ATBC is not going to fix something rough from being scuffed. ATBC is good for softening stiff, inflexible vinyl.

    I used ATCB on some of the toys, but still it makes indeed very soft. However the toy gets weaker on the pinched seems and would not support adults on it anymore when fully inflated. However its good use for old toys that lost their elastic properties when being new in box.
