Love this video. Your mom is just the cutest. My mom is 82, and I shared the "Part 1" video with her as soon as I could. Thanks for the updates! Can't wait for the next video in the series. 😂
Nooooo. Wait for the Model Y refresh, should be so much easier to get in and out of. Much respect for your courage to sit as a passenger. I'd be too scared to do it. Thanks for sharing. Well done Tesla, saving lives.
Steeg, your mom's so adorable and so right. This technology is a life saver and will ADD 10 year to my life for taking away all the stress of driving and dealing with the craziness around me. Your mom's a great spokesperson for FSD and after watching this video my wife mustered the courage to try out FSD and was pleasently surprised how smooth and reliable v13 feels relative to the past versions. Great job, Steeg. Keep it up.
FSD is a 'game changer' in every direction, this video demonstrates how FSD is able to provide mobility to seniors in need-mobility help. This is an outstanding video, I hope main-stream media discovers it!
But it sure is dangerous at the current state, cause if they have to take over, they probably can't or are too slow. That's the danger of FSD being "almost" solved.
Hilarious watching your mum. My mother drove like a bat out of hell her entire life. she terrified us with her race car driving. Such a contrast with your mum. :). My mother passed away in a tragic accident. If she was till alive she would have liked FSD for sure. She stayed current with technology until her death. You mom is a treasure.
her observation skills are top notch. the way she asks the first question about the breaks vs. the start button is so mature and careful. A great insight and feedback for the FSD UX team :)
This is the best fsd video. Two people looking at the world with open eyes, finding at a miracle of a techology. While we are finding the joy in listening while two open hearted people interact so nice with each other.
Another Fantastic video! Your Mom is a Great communicator, and we enjoyed her commentary; sent this one too to parents (82) to watch; looking forward to visiting them in March and their test driving my new MY
My mom was 86, loved tech and had back troubles too. I miss her greatly and wished FSD was around for her. As awesome of a son you are, Steeg, and love your mom - she definitely needs her own channel. She's the best! By the way, make sure to show her "Easy Entry" and the "Larger Font". These are excellent accessibility features.
Thanks for the video. You're lucky to have such a sharp mum at this age. Great your mum immediately realised the liberties a self driving car affords her. The way she talks about being able to go places she doesn't at the moment is just one of the reasons why self driving cars need to get approved. It'll stop the isolation old age brings when acuities diminish.
Love your mom! She's fantastic! Like the insights about pain in lifting leg when slowing down before " bumps' on road to slow down traffic" we think it’s a stupid idea! Please update us on her new Tesla, ahem…”Joe”.
Very cool video, I'm glad your mom likes it! Not to be a Debby downer but I think is dangerous, she did not look ready to take over. I've already experienced this with an ~80-year-old. Their reflexes are slower & they don't have the same understanding as most people who use FSD. Just because you tell them "Remember you have to take over and monitor". They're likely to not react properly, even if they agree. You should show her several videos of v13 making mistakes. If you haven't already I'd recommend taking her to a residential area with no traffic and have her practice disengagements. Good luck. Be careful. Enjoy.
Both my parents are in their 70's and have a model 3 and y with FSD. They use it 99% of the time and love it. They will now only buy Teslas because they will not buy a car that does not have FSD.
This was so cute... I miss my Grandmas... Anyway, I feel this technology will likely be of huge help keeping people connected with their communities and getting where they need to go.
Your mom is sharp! She seems comfortable with technology. Think of the progress she has seen in her lifetime, and now... to have a car drive on its own. I hope I live long enough to see progress like that.
As we age we need tools like FSD to assist with tasks. It is great to see your mother take advantage of the technology. Thanks for taking us along on her drive. However, I am a little surprised they are looking at the 3 instead of the Y. The higher seating position makes for easier in and out.
This is one of the things I have been looking forward to for a while now. This is going to give freedom and mobility back to so many people. Outstanding and well done Mr Starfish! 😊
What a cool video. Your gran is the best (Great job Starfish) and the way you treat her and your patience great job man what a pleasure to watch. God Bless.
Great video! Your mother said something that worries me about the robotaxi. She talked about the pain in her legs. The robotaxi seems a bit low an I have not seen a handle for helping people get out. Maybe the door is the handle but it must lock in the open position so it can be used to help a person pull up and out. I asked my 92 year old mother if she would get into one, and she said "no".
Im in my 50s and have some physical difficulties. I hope in 10-15 years by the time I get to the point of needing extra help. Tech like self-driving (already almost ready) and Cyberbot and its kin and other home and AI tech will be developed to the point to extend my independence.
Do you want her to drive by herself without this assisting program when you share the roads with her. She is not giving up her driving license. Whenever she try to change lanes by herself😳 I don’t know.
@ When I had the free trial version 12.5(?), I was coming up to a red stoplight and I just assumed the car would stop. I failed to react quickly enough and it just blew through the red light. If I had been driving, I would’ve been prepared to stop earlier. So I feel that this woman might drive very cautiously if she was driving herself, but might not be prepared in an emergency to take over.
It's really nice to see FSD helping people get around. I really appreciate you making it clear to your mother that she should still be able to take over and ready, this is important since it's still a beta.
I’m still not fully confident with the current load that it can make it as fully autonomous. I’m currently running FSD 13.2.2 and last week, twice it made a left hand turn onto a two lane highway with a double yellow line and it got into the wrong side of the road. I had to intervene and move it to the right side of the road. Note that I had cleaned all my cameras just before I got into the car for this trip. This past weekend, the car warned me about a speed camera, but then proceeded to go well over the speed limit, so I had to quickly step on the brake. The car is also still not slowing down for me for school zones, or for emergency vehicles, also as of this past weekend.
Thumbs up and thank you for pointing this out. FSD 13 is not full Level 5 autonomous driving. Tesla repeatedly points this out and emphasizes that the driver has the responsibility to take control in certain situations. Though it may drive more safely than many elderly drivers on the road today, it should not be considered a substitute chauffeur (even if you call him Joe!) It is still only an assistant, and certainly a good one, but it is not yet a "human-driver-less" solution. It is great seeing the progress from version to version, and we should all applaud the assistance to seniors, but we aren't fully "there" yet. Hopefully we will get there soon.
This is one of this things that we don't even include. A lot of people say they will never use an automated car. But let us be honest if a autonomous car is just safe as a human driving it can already give about 24 Million people in the USA mobility that they simply did not have before. Of course once robotaxi comes out the numbers are interesting.
Amazing video. The technology is 70% but the human driver still have to handle that 30% each year that number will reduce as the network upgrades each car. The joy in her voice is so genuine. Would recommend the latest Tesla model which should also be the most safest with FSD abilities.
V13 is incredible! Please just be careful when two lanes merge into one when there is a lot of traffic. But from the looks of it, where you are using FSD, not too many cars🎉
Model Y could be a better fit for getting in and out easily. If you can't wait for the refreshed variant, there should be plenty of great discounts for stock vehicles coming up in next couple of week.
My Wife and I wish the Model 3 and Y were higher off the group (especially the 3), but we are taller people. It's interesting to note how the Model 3 might actually be better for the elderly if they are short. Its all about relative height, not total height. Did you mention anything about the new Model Y (possibly coming out in a few months) and it will have a front bumper camera which could be nice for them.
Being legally blind and unable to drive anymore, this would be great for me. But I don't trust it. Especially with the idiots on the road here in Connecticut.
Thank you for making this video. Your mother is right. This is life-saving technology. So many times after work I am so tired that I can't even focus driving and FSD has saved me so many times. FSD version 13 it's so smooth the way it takes off from the parking to local highway is very smooth. Even the way it stops at the stop sign and then proceed is very smooth. The major improvement in version 13 is when it merges to the highway from the ramp. Now makes decision faster and safer. By the way don't buy Cybertruck it has a lot of issues, Elon discontinued Cybertruck which means they're no longer being made.
Very unsafe to ask an 86 year old to do what Tesla says is required. 100 percent human supervision, and ready to jump in and take control in a split second .
"Good job Starfish" Your mom is a legend.
From this day forward, the car shall ever be known as "Starfish". It is written, so shall it be done.
You need to rename your car Mr. Starfish right now ! Adorable...bless her.
Mr Starfish sounds much better
Love this video. Your mom is just the cutest. My mom is 82, and I shared the "Part 1" video with her as soon as I could. Thanks for the updates! Can't wait for the next video in the series. 😂
You are a good son taking the time to help your mother in driving Tesla!! Your mom is sharp, smart and very pleasant
Nooooo. Wait for the Model Y refresh, should be so much easier to get in and out of.
Much respect for your courage to sit as a passenger. I'd be too scared to do it.
Thanks for sharing. Well done Tesla, saving lives.
The refresh is the same as the current Model Y for those things. But ya if they like climbing up then a model Y makes sense
Steeg, your mom's so adorable and so right. This technology is a life saver and will ADD 10 year to my life for taking away all the stress of driving and dealing with the craziness around me. This is a heartwarming testimonial . Paid advertising is obsolete
Awesome! 🤩
Really Hope this goes viral so *everyone* can see how “brilliant” FSD _already_ is and how promising the future is. 🎉
This is my favorite FSD video! Please make more showing your mom’s progression.
Thanks for the second part. FSD will be such a wonderful thing for older folks. Great video!
her observation skills are top notch. the way she asks the first question about the breaks vs. the start button is so mature and careful. A great insight and feedback for the FSD UX team :)
Starfish.. hahahahahahahaha.. that was so damn cute. I laughed so hard. hahahahahah. she is so adorable.
She is so adorable!! Love to see how FSD wil help the elderly
This is the best fsd video. Two people looking at the world with open eyes, finding at a miracle of a techology. While we are finding the joy in listening while two open hearted people interact so nice with each other.
Another Fantastic video!
Your Mom is a Great communicator, and we enjoyed her commentary; sent this one too to parents (82) to watch; looking forward to visiting them in March and their test driving my new MY
It makes me so happy she’s now able to have hope of still getting around in her later years thanks to technology
She's adorable! I think I will send these videos to my ex, who mostly quit driving when she lost an eye.
My mom was 86, loved tech and had back troubles too. I miss her greatly and wished FSD was around for her. As awesome of a son you are, Steeg, and love your mom - she definitely needs her own channel. She's the best!

She is just adorable. I love her attitude.
For people who say people will never trust a robot to drive don´t realize we one day can´t trust ourselves. This is a mobility revolution for elders
Wow, she is bright, openminded and witty!
You have a wonderful Mom.. I miss my Mom..
Really cute Mom. Good, good son!😊❤️😊❤️
Thanks for the video. You're lucky to have such a sharp mum at this age. Great your mum immediately realised the liberties a self driving car affords her. Is it weird that I want your mom's humming song as a ringtone? It's so soothing and phone calls stress me out☺
Excellent video. I love that we are finally at this stage of progress.
Going to be fun. Thanks again.

Your Mom is so sweet! Please more videos with her.
This was so cute... I miss my Grandmas... Anyway, I feel this technology will likely be of huge help keeping people connected with their communities and getting where they need to go.
She is adorable!
I’m going to show this to my 80+ year old mom!
Your mom is delightful - and adventurous!
We luv your mom! Im so happy to see someone her age get such joy from technology. 😊
Starfish is just a much better name, let's be real.
It's cool that she's able to witness this, it makes me think about what advanced tech I'll witness at 86.
Thank you for the video.
Your mom is sharp! She seems comfortable with technology. Think of the progress she has seen in her lifetime, and now... to have a car drive on its own. I hope I live long enough to see progress like that.
Considering the advancement of ai well probably see breakthroughs unimaginable within the next decade imo
I'm pretty sure this video is going to go viral.
Excellent. Keep on posting from Mom (and Dad) because that is what I see as a worthy future in mobility! THX
Peak Tesla FSD content.
Wow grandma was so happy I wish FSD came a lil bit earlier so that my Grandma experienced it too I love it Tesla you’re a blessing to humanity
Hugs to mom.

To assist with tasks == that's why they are putting this tech into something with arms and legs.
Now she just needs to be able to select a handicapped parking spot. Love the videos!
Wonderful mom wonderful son.
She is awesome. Lucky man.
extremely wholesome video
This is one of the things I have been looking forward to for a while now. This is going to give freedom and mobility back to so many people. Outstanding and well done Mr Starfish! 😊

men, you made so many people hopeful-thanks!
As cool to see as this is, I hope you take her through lots of scenarios where she has to take over.
이런게 진짜지....테슬라 진짜 흥해라.....화성가자.

I like the name the brown star fish.
It could be confused with star ship but i like where momma was going with it
The system is great and will continuously get better.
I'd wait for the Model Y Juniper, it probably fits your grandmas needs much better, easier access and everything.
Do you think your mom would've had the presence of mind and the reaction time to take over in a split second emergency?
Do you want her to drive by herself without this assisting program when you share the roads with her. She is not giving up her driving license. Whenever she try to change lanes by herself😳 I don’t know.

This should be Tesla's first traditional ad/commercial (Super Bowl?). Excellent video, I hope someone with the know how gets this video to Tesla.
thats why we love Tesla!
You win The Internet!
Hugs to Mom from a random stranger.
I’m still not fully confident with the current load that it can make it as fully autonomous. Why the cut at 03:24?
Good, another Tesla in the family. PLEASE more follow up vidoes
Thanks for posting. You're mom did great. Your parents will certainly enjoy their new ride. :)
Lord i hope my mother will be as aware when she s at this age. She s great! Aslo funny lady!
She is great, I subscribed because of her
You mom is allowed to call your car what ever she wants. 😆🥰
Best channel ever

Headphones for the full in a car with your mom experience.
Incredible
Model Y could be a better fit for getting in and out easily. If you can't wait for the refreshed variant, there should be plenty of great discounts for stock vehicles coming up in next couple of week.
Can FSD priorize parking in disabled parking slots for the disabled driver?
Adjust the upper seatbelt guide to lowest position?
My Wife and I wish the Model 3 and Y were higher off the group (especially the 3), but we are taller people. It's interesting to note how the Model 3 might actually be better for the elderly if they are short. Its all about relative height, not total height.

good job
If your mom and dad have lived in that area more than 30 years ask them if they ever heard of a store called Adray's?
When this is 1000% reliable then every elderly that would like to travel should own one.
Starfish is good
just great
Being legally blind and unable to drive anymore, this would be great for me. But I don't trust it. Especially with the idiots on the road here in Connecticut.
It deals with the idiots rather well, also without getting angry which is a huge benefit for all.
I named my Model 3 Tesley Snipes lol
Her humming while driving means she feels confident with FSD
love this!

Joe is a great name for a Starfish!
Very unsafe to ask an 86 year old to do what Tesla says is required. 100 percent human supervision, and ready to jump in and take control in a split second .
Tesla FSD will free the boomers!
"Don’t kill him…that’s right…"😂❤
