Btw, my girls are LOVING the educational videos. My 7 yr olds teacher emailed me the other day and asked me if we raised sheep because of all the facts she keeps spouting off at school every time we watch one!! 😂😂😂 I thought it was cute and told her how she learned all of it. Rock on, ladies. Rock on!!!!!
@@jacqueline-fc8wb 😂😂😂I thought so. I still laugh when I think about it. My girls LOVE watching them, and thank goodness Katie gives a warning now when she's going to be cussing a lot. 😂😂😂
@@ferretyluv roflmao!!!! No. I warned her about that one. I told her we don't talk about peepees at school whether human or animal. I might need to tell her about the sac, too. 😂😂😂😂
@julie Delightful anecdote., thanks for sharing. :) Kids are really so precocious these days. My son just turned 8. Wishing you and your girls more sheep shearing vids to watch and other fun adventures to make.
He is absolutely GORGEOUS! About 40+ years ago I had the chance to purchase an antique and genuine Spinning Wheel. I love them but never had the need. Now that I am following you and Shepherds/Shepherdesses, I now wish I had it. I love y'all's videos. Thank you. ✝️
There are also lots of modern spinning wheels available to buy, some even used! If you seriously want to pursue that, look at Ravelry. They have at least one section for spinning and other tools for sale. I bought a used, portable spinning wheel that way. It’s a Schacht Sidekick wheel. My main wheel is a Schacht Matchless. I also have a collection of drop spindles, like about 12 of them. An antique wheel has challenges to it, like having the right parts for it, to make sure it works. That can be problematic. There are lots of good, modern spinning wheels being made, some that even look old-fashioned, like your antique wheel.
Always look forward to watching you shear, Katie. Your skills as a shearer are ah-mazing. Rupert looks like he thinks you're pretty special, too. Take care & keep up the good work. 😊 👍 🐑 🦙 🐏 ⭐ ❤
KATIE!! When you say that harlequins are beautiful sheep you don’t lie! Rupert was an extremely handsome feller once you got all that nappy “I really need a haircut “ wool off him. Yes you said he had a cute little tail but he still took offense to his backside being called cute. 🤣🤣 The care and gentleness that you use while shearing these sheep just shows how much you love your job and the sheep that you are taking care of. I think you found your true calling when you got into doing this. Much love from KY!! ♥️♥️
Rupert is gorgeous! Such a magnificent fleece. Until I started watching you shear, I never new there were so many different breeds. So satisfying to watch you in action.
I'd spin the whole thing together. Gorgeous color! Thank you for the educational bits you include. I'd love to learn to spin if there were more hours in the day...😊
I did a sheep shearing class once it was incredibly difficult. To hold the struggling animal them manage the heavy dity stainless shearing tool is exhausting!!! She makes it look very easy.!!!💪
I've never seen sheep or any animal shorn before and I just love your videos. You make it so relaxing to watch. You do it with such talent. Keep up the good work
I would love to knit something with that wool! I couldn't stop thinking of oreo cookies, vanilla ice cream and caramel syrup! Those colours! Great video!
Love the lanolin grease all over your hands. Their mixed grey wool looks amazing and as you said each batch is unique. Again thanks for the lesson and posting ❤
Love watching your videos. You are so gentle with the animals and considerate of how they feel, especially with this guy when you moved his head so he would be more comfy. Because I watch your videos I get many others showing up. There are many shearers that I would love to throttle for the way they treat the sheep, especially the ones in the time races, or at least twist them into the POS tions they make the sheep twist. Keep up your great work and I look forward to the next video. 😄💕🐏🐑🐑🐏🐏💞
Oh my God, what a skilled shearer you are, Katie. You're fast and efficient and at the same time so gentle. I am blown away by your videos. And you're friggin funny too. 😅 But oh my, that work position must be so hard on your back and body!!
WOW, what a beautiful speckled sheep, and that is one gorgeous fleece! Makes me wish there was a way to preserve the fleece as it is…no processing, just hung up on the wall like a very large piece of art.❤❤❤❤❤
I loved this description so much. I saw a video and thought that “The Right Choice” was a different channel. I’m so happy to see it’s you! Your shearers are so quiet! You are so efficient and just a beautiful person. Thanks for showing the details of the wool, and for being so kind to the sheep. 🐑 🐑🐑
Oh my goodness he is so cute! Love all his spots! Where do we find someone that uses this beautiful fleece to make stuff? I would love to support out local craftsmen.
I live in Chicago but wish I lived in the South. My 15 year old loves to care for all types of animals and this would be a good craft for him to learn. I always try to educate my kids on non traditional careers!!
I’ve wondered why they just give up when you put them sort of sitting and lying down. Now I see that unshorn they are like over furry teddy bears that can’t easily wiggle away.
new to your channel, and like, I never knew ya could just handle a sheep like that, much as he kicked up a fuss by his tail, dude was fine with all the maneuvering
He's like hey, why you looking at my butt? But he's gorgeous. You would never know he was spotted. How long does it take for them to grow enough fleece to be shorn?

He's a handsome wee laddie now.
I was lucky enough to be able to spin wool , never shaved a sheep. And, the sheep said thank you for that.😂
How do you get the wool of the sheep? I'm curious.
@@Wolfsification my friend had one sheep and shorn it. We spun it on a spinning wheel. Softest my hands have ever been 😁 was a great experience.

A lot of fiber artists purchase whole fleeces. Not all of them can have their own hobby flocks.
What a beautiful boy he is!!! All those little spots! And his fleece is just gorgeous!!!
Absolutely!
I love that you take the time to educate us about the wool! Thank you
The markings on the underside of the coat looks nothing like the outside of the coat. The sheep has beautiful markings though!
Rupert is sooooo handsome!!! His fleece is gorgeous, and i was not expecting him to have such fine spots under there!!
You are so right his markings are amazing ❤
Fabulous job as always. I do like the markings on the skin. Not what I expected to see.

A drop spindle takes much less space. 👍

0:12 this sheep just loving it. It's probably asking for a pedicure too 😂.
You are so strong and gentle. Happy to see how relaxed they are with you.
Very different to the Aussie Harlequin mini meat sheep.
No shearing. Completely shedding
Both are cute 😊

love how calm he is, can see that he trusts you.

Love your sense of humor, too. " I said it was beautiful ."
I'm a crafter and one of my crafts is to crochet I just started following your channel and the colors of fleece are beautiful
You forgot to mention that they mixed in some Dalmatian… Part of his skin looks like a chocolate chip cookie
“Dalmatian.” The perfect descriptive!👍🏻
What a beautiful boy, and thank you Katie for your brilliant shearing and education into the wool they produce it's really interesting 🥰🥰
Thank you for the education 🎉 My husband was binge-watching your channel. Then the bug bit me! Thanks again for sharing your work-life with us.

🥰I'll say thank you for the sheep
He's beautiful 😍 I love this breed and the salt and pepper marking. Great job 😊
Wow He’s a spinners dream such a variety in one sheep plus all the wool breeds that spinners love
Really enjoyed the educational part with the shearing. Excellent video.
You are growing your skills and confidence in leaps and bounds. Well done.
The chill sitting pose😂
Good boy, Rupert 🥰 i love me a freshly peeled sheep
I had no idea the many colors and shades of wool...you are amazing at your calling.
I find this very calming.
These animals are literally growing blankets on their backs
Rupert is gorgeous.
I am from Germany. I have no sheeps. I dont live on a farm. But this is so interesting and satisfying to watch :)
They should make an ice cream after him lol. His under coat looks delicious and so does his fiber.
He is gorgeous ❤

He's very pretty!!❤❤
I desperately want to get my hands on that fleece 😂
'in a hurry to get naked'😂 You're so funny!
But NO brown?!! It’s so deceiving with what lies beneath :) You’ve got great energy! Stumbled on your videos and I’m hooked ! 🐑
Amazing to watch in real time. Thanks😊
Thanks for explaining all that, I appreciate it! And it's beautiful!!!
@01:18 I feel like there’d be a wolf hopping outta there lol😂🤣😂
Man, Just came back from getting a haircut at the barber shop after about 7 monts, I feel you Rupert, feel you 😢
I enjoy your channel. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
Wonderful sheep and great sheer!
He's like hey, why you looking at my butt? But he's gorgeous. You would never know he was spotted. How long does it take for them to grow enough fleece to be shorn?
Love seeing the finished yarn. Great work as always and as always, worried about your back lol. Take care and thank you both!
I would love to see this wool handspun and made up into oh, anything, especially the little spotted areas.
That is a beautiful creation!🥰
He is enjoying your massage 💕
