Having been married to a guy who worked in recording studios back in those days, i was responsible for passing this around surreptitiously for a while lol. Great to hear the story of how it came to be :)

I'd always known Franks as the guy wearing a crocodile costume playing farfisa on Elton's tour. This is a better legacy! What a great story.

I've loved his Troggs tape since the first time I heard it and I laugh as hard again and again as if I was listening to it for the first time. It's great to hear the backstory of how it was made. Absolutely fantastic!

Priceless. If you love the Troggs Tape, try Handsforth Parish Council meetings....

I’m now hearing Reg’s voice, in that accent, saying “You don’t have the fuckin’ authority”.

Having worked in the Pro-Audio Industry (Solid State Logic 1980-87 and then freelance), I realised how easy it was to record a duplicate stereo tape elsewhere in the studio so, am not that surprised that Clive managed to do that. Glad that it seemed to turn out ok in the end.

It is how people try and explain what they want a drummer to do.
You are going "um cha, um cha, um chah, ba boom" the the poor drummer is going "what?".
They are trying to get the drummer to do "Dubah, dubah, dubah, cha, but on different drums" and it's getting late.
Spinal Tap tried to recreate this with a guitar overdub.

Wasn't the f____ING drummer, Ronnie Bond? Even after all these years when I listen to the tape it makes me laugh.

I've just realised he was the same bloke behind the "You've Never Seen Anything Like It - Central Milton Keynes" song. I'd not made the connection before. ua-cam.com/video/eyIls75IhaY/v-deo.html
