- Quick video of laying the stone down the driveway until we got to the culvert pipe for the stream. Then we switched to surge stone to fill in around the pipe and then we will top coat that with 2" stone.
You will not find many drivers this talented. He probably saved you thousands on that drive way. I agree he needs a huge tip.
He was a pleasure to deal with.
Most people are too cheap to tip their dump truck guy but the pizza guy sure gets a tip for no skill
Always moving and steady, thats the key to back spreading. Great job driver
One of the better drivers I’ve ever seen, some can’t spread going forward let alone backing!
Yes, He's a great driver and enjoys his job. Ya there are some drivers out there that can't spread it as nice going forward. They are also the ones that think there pro's.
Extremely talented driver. Whoever did the land prep knew what they were doing as well.
These type of dump truck drivers are rare. They have a talent that far exceeds many dump truck drivers !
I hope this driver see all these great comments of him he deserves it. I have spread many of tailgates loads and this man is good at his truck. Very smooth. It’s not as easy always as this gentleman has made it look. Very fluent.
What an artist the truck driver is!
Someone give this man a beer and a round of applause...great job my man!!!
Excellent driving, wow! And also a really good job of clearing. Plenty of space on both sides of the driveway
The country needs a lot more drivers like this,
Driver did an excellent job! One of the main things, is have a plan and once that gate comes open, execute the plan! He did both very well!
That's one bad ass skilled driver right there, my friend. That rock don't even need to be bladed after he laid it down. Impressive !! I hope you gave him a tip $$ !!
Ya, He is good and someone who likes and enjoys his job. Nope it was pretty good right off the truck and we did. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave us a comment.
Nice wide road!! Great job!
A very talented driver, should get a tip for saving a lot of work for the owner !
Most drivers can’t do that good of a job going forward. Notice how he waits till he’s moving when he opens his gate. This guy has done this 100’s or 1000’s of times.
He was a pleasure to deal with on all levels skills, knowledge and personality.
It's amazing how much a great driver can save you in material over an average or even good driver!
Very nice job their driver it takes some practice to get to that level I wish I had 6 drivers like you 👍
damn that's one hell of a professional driver hope u bought him lunch he saved u alot of time
No kidding, that wasn't his first time doing this, great job driver
I think it was Camarata.
@@parkerbirch9374 Camarata lives in New York. The truck in this video says TN. Also, King Andrew Camarata doesn't gravel driving backward.
Don Braden I’ve never seen a driver do a dump in reverse! After watching this driver, I have no idea why!
Not sure why he reversed spread, road looked solid.
Most people in the civil industry know to put down either a SPR base or a GAP 40/65 roll then GEO fab then finish with a few loads of GAP 40 and roll it til it settled..but one thing for sure...this driver is very very good at his job👍👍👍
That is one talented truck driver.
Ya he was good and a pleasure to work with.
Drove a dump truck for 33 years, favourite part was chaining off gravel and stone for laneways and gravel roads , didn’t need to touch it just compact it
Man that driver is good. He sure saved ua bunch of work/time
Yes he is and he did save us a bunch of time/ work. Helps to have a good driver or someone that likes there job.
Dave Stinson idk we're this is but just about every truck that deliver rock here in Nebraska spreads it for you. If a rock driver here can't spread rock then he doesn't have a job lol
Shit road though..
It could use some side drainage
Isso sim é motorista bom e manobra, faço este tipo de trabalho também aqui no sul do Brasil
The driver is gangster. Saved you work. Wow
This driver Rocks. Only suggestion would have been to lay dien some Typar Road Material. Saves on possible resurfacing later than sooner
Great driver did all the work for you.
Good driver and you are a dump truck driver till you can spread backwards . Used to own a 80 model cornbinder tandem and spread more backwards than forward. Good job guys
Yes he is. Seems most of them in the area do it backwards. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave us a comment.
Well I'm impressed! ... *_very_* impressed!
I know I have never seen a dump truck drive dispense of stone that way, but great job!!
I think its becoming more popular as the dump truck is driving on top of the stove rather then on the dirt/mud helps reduce the risk of getting stuck. Unless there was a stump removed and there's a big soft spot.
Called tailgating
Dam that guy is good.... Can't hardly get a spreader anymore aside from being that good !!
This guy is the gun !
You have truck drivers and you have steering wheel holders. This guy is definitely a truck driver.
That's what I'm talking about a good driver knowing what and how to do it and not having to do much follow up yay for the driver
7:23 me acting like I'm working hard when my boss arrives
Nice work driver
Very good truck driver. Having built many roads and driveways in my time, I always wanted the roadway to be higher than the surrounding area or at least have well formed ditches on either side of the road. Otherwise the water will run to the road and that expensive gravel will just disappear into the dirt and mud. This drive is lower than the sides, there are no ditches.
Yes, he was a pleasure to work with. Ya a weeks after we removed the piles of dirt that were pushed off and used it to fill in behind the house. We also tampered the edges and added in ditches to the side to keep the water moving. Most of the gravel/ stone is a top sand stone so it hasn't really moved.
The guy they sent me to drop off 10 loads dropped the first one in 1 spot, I had asked him to run with it as it came off the back, he said he don't do that, so I called his boss up and told him, send me someone that knows how to his fu#&en job because this one is not coming back. HE LONGER WORKS THERE. I usually never have problems with cement guys, gravel guys or for that matter with workers in general. This guy deserved every penny he charge for this job.
You gotta hand it to that driver....he knows how to spread stone..... :)
Who needs a skidsteer when you have this dude behind the wheel
Ya, he's a good driver that enjoys his job and takes pride in it.
This driver knows how to gate stone..👍
Ok driver u know what to do so i get tired after watching u so i need going to take a nap ....lol
How many tons does that dump truck haul?
I think I had to pay $250 for 6 tons delivered and I can’t find anybody with a bigger truck although I don’t need as much stone as that driveway needed.
The dump truck driver is good. Real good
O O he’s been doing it a while. Almost as good as I was….. 😂
This isn't laying down rock, nor driving. This is artwork. And by doing it in reverse, he's not compacting the dirt with the trucks tires, Wich would ruin grade. Whatever you pay him it's not enough.
I can’t see a crown or drainage ditches. Will this last?
1 word....Amazing
Question! Why do you guys dump the gravel in reverse?? Is it a specific reason?
jose,
I would think the reason being is to compact the stones with the weight of the truck.
The ideals behind dumping the gravel in reverse are.. That the truck stays on the bed of gravel, giving the truck more traction and is less likely to get stuck. If it does get stuck the truck can empty the load without being in the way and hopefully drive out. If it is really stuck its facing towards the road easier for a tow truck to hook onto the front of the truck and get it out.
Now that’s a Driver! Driver!
Man this guy is good
I’ve delivered tons of rock, this guy has mad skills though.
I can see myself fucking a bunch of shit up attempting this. Must love his job and have done it for some to be this good.
Why did somebody gravel a ditch? I didnt see where a road was cut by a blade in the minimal. Theres a dozen looks like a six way blade too, then theres a ditch feet under the shoulders of what is supposed to be a road. Theres no drainage system at the egde of the gravel to collect any and all of rainwater and melt off. It's the blind leading the blind here. Why have a hump in your road when theres a dozen there? Two inch gravel is put on top of a road bed (you have no road bed) is this road being turned into a public road? As in a sub-divsion?
Are you in Canada I seen the 20 m on the sweet Peterbilt, thumbs up to the trucker thanks for the entertainment
We are in tennessee. Ya he did a good job and was easy to work with.
Ol boys dumped a load or 2 forsure that's the kind of driver who probably tells the mechanics the exact problem and what he needs, those are rare, take it from a heavy equipment and truck mechanic that works on coal trucks.
Damn that's so smooth you could deliver tofu without breaking it.
Good job...Experience driver..
Thanks. Yes, he was good and it was nice to have the same driver thought the whole thing.
Nice job ACE driver
Yea, he is good. Like what he does and has a passion for it. Not in a rush to drop and go
Why no fabric first?
Mind if I ask what 7 truck loads cost ya?
I don't belived this.....amazing!
Music
Music was the first
You can tell this isn't this truck driver's 1st rodeo
Damn he's good
Yes he is.
Just imagine the time to get that road cleared for stone. Lots of trees to cut
Whats those loads of number 2 stone running per load
They all seem to be priced very close I just got a load of 57ths they other day and it was now 512.06 for almost 23 tons
What class of cdl is needed for a truck like that
How much do you charge for a chain spread
Looks like you should have installed ditches on both sides of the driveway to carry the water and put fabric under it to save your rock
This guy is good
Can somebody comment back on I need to know how far the tailgate have to be open for different Stones I 3-inch 2 and 4 in whatever if someone can give me the calculation for that appreciate it
Wow them. Drivers are good
Bullhorn stacks. 🤘🏼
Any good driver with confidence can do this it's not that complicated
If they cant spred withtruck they need a different job been around this fifty years in grading biz and all drivrers, mess this up dont get paid for load they eatit if cant drive there truck
Tennessee boys can spread some stone. I had 1200 ft put in..
I was wondering what he was doing spreading by hand with machine parked on the side
I’m busy a boss
My father would have had me spreading that by hand to save money! 2:00 That low spot/hump makes my nervous. LOOKS, like all the loam was removed! Almost an Instant road!
lol. That sounds like fun. Yes, all loam removed down to sand rock so a pretty solid base.
Holy crap!
You "comment" on something other than fire videos!
Niceeee workkkk
well done
Thanks
Was that stone or crushed concrete? How many tons or yards did you end up using? And how much was it? Building a road of my own.
It's crushed stone, 30 or so trucks running 22-24 tons on them. It was a little over 9K
I think for many years now folks put way too much down and pay way too much for grave....in the old days the dump beds had doors in each corner and you could have the driver lay down two nicely spaced paths of stone for your tires to track in...the center gravel is useless and grows lots of vegetation. ..
The driver could drive just as easily and simpler going forward so what is the reason for going backward?
I can think of one good reason that looks like fresh dirt. If you were to go forward over the dirt its tires with that such a heavy load might sink in causing deep impressions in the dirt. With him going backwards over the stone; his distribution of the truck weight is better off. I'm no expert this is just me from my experience of life. And I can see it as a possible reason that's all.
better to go frontwards....nice and dry, weight compacts then fills the impressions with stone .all works though...good driver. @@Carpaintry_of_God
The 2” stone distributes the weight of the truck much better than the sand does. No ruts this way, driver is top notch.
Probably ain’t no where to turn around that’s why he’s backing it down
How many yards per load?
They were bringing between 22-24 tons each time they came. Lets say it was 22 ton on the truck that would be 44,000lbs . Weight per cubic yard is approximately 2800 lbs for 2" stone. So it would be 44,000. / 2800. roughly 15.71 yards on the truck and that one yard will cover about 150 square feet at 2" deep. I could be wrong on the numbers or the math but I think that's right.
Dam thats along drive way. Lol who's taking the trash can to the street... 123 not it😂😂 lmao jk jk
How many sq ft of a driveway does 15 tons of gravel cover poured. @ 4 inches of gravel .
Roughly.. 15.26 Tons of 2" gravel would do a 29'x 29' area @ 4". So the sq ft would be 841.
Yanks have this laying stone down to a tee.cant stop watching it.
Did you have to pay him extra to spread the stone for you?
No, We didn't have to pay extra to tail gate the stone.
I Hope you tipped the driver's. They are very good and saved you time and money as well
How much is a tri axle load of stones ??
Its was around 400$ and was around 22-24 ton
@@ImprezaRS2002 24 ton in a dump truck? Isn't that what semi and trailer haul?
@@ayliniemi Tri axle dump truck
We have a tri-axle Pete with a tub body, doesn't spread the nicest but it'll haul 25 ton of stone or hot mix
How Much Money di You spend
I need to take lessons...
I would've put Go fabric down first save yourself in the long run
Where's this place located at ??
Rick S It's in Tennessee.
THANKS
Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave us a comment.
Why do it backwards when it's dry? Much easier and safer to do it going forward. Great job though.
Huge mistake not putting down a base and geotextile fabric. That clean gravel will be swallowed by the sand over time and traffic.
It was scrapped down to sand rock so it is soild underneath. There was one spot right before the culvert pipe that wasn't down to the sand rock and we did you the fabric.
Sounds like that truck has a missfire
THAT'S NOT A DRIVEWAY- ITS A STREET!
Must be a TEAMSTER
Teamsters my ass. They would have put where u didn't want it
@@jamesjenkins1737 no shit lol just another underpaid over skilled scab workin for his dollar here ol son
Why would you put down 2 inch stone as a base? Should of started with a pit run, or something with an aggregate base. That will disappear into the dirt without a trace.
It's sitting a top some clay but mostly sand stone like you see inside the foundation. Been there and hasn't moved yet. Looks almost the same as the day we put it down. There has been a hand full of logging trucks and 5 more 22-24 ton trucks with rock to finish the driveway and to bring in rock for inside the foundation and 3 cement trucks with 10 yards in them and just a few days ago 3 trucks loaded with the block to make the foundation.
ImprezaRS2002 I live in Wisconsin, the northern part of the state. 4 years ago I bought 2 wooded parcels of land, cleared an area on both and put in driveways. One I did myself, it was solid enough to have them tailgate it, I put down 3 inch minus washed rock. Looked wonderfully and was easy to rake it out to finish it off. Cost 47 dollars per yard delivered, im in the middle of nowhere.
Second driveway was way to rough and needed a tractor so I hired it out. They used a pit run and topped it off with 2 inches of road gravel. Cost was 12.50 per yard. And 200 for the labor.
Both were roughly the same size, and had roughly the same thickness of gravel. Both were compacted by me. But the driveway that has 3 inch minus on it, is now a mudhole so rutted up I can no longer use it with my car. The driveway with pit run is still very solid especially considering how bad it was before the gravel went down. But we have a lot of clay, and in a different area, so I understand how it varies.
Freedom Fighterz I also live in way northern Wisconsin by Hurley. Our soil is different. On this kind of clay stone works very well as a binder. On our clay there's no bottom to it and you need an aggregate that will compact.
Only thing to use period. Than go over top with 1 inch base. If ur really determined water it down than roll it will be hard as concrete.
That's a truck driver there
Why backwards ??
They do it that way as they feel there is less of a chance of the truck getting stuck as it is on top of the stone.
Usually first loads on dirt are backspread
Agreed, backspreading doesn't compact the dirt as bad, less chance of throwing off grade. Just my 20 cents from 30yrs.
