I feel the same. I listen to her for hrs a day, morning, noon and night and it's never too much. Thankyou Angelina for gracing us with your beautiful gift. God bless you dear.
As Angelina does on most of her covers she pays homage to the previous performer. The ekectric guitar was a call back and homage to Elvis and that era. The jumpsuit....the beehive hairdo, call back to Elvis & Priscilla.
What a wonderful reaction again, thank you! By the way, the producer of this video is Mery Zamani, a jazz singer / artist herself. She is Angelina's grandmother and she introduced Angelina into jazz / blues music when she was still a little baby. That's when Angelina's love for singing and this genre started. The two do have a very strong relationship till this very day.
I play the piano and had the same reaction when I heard that chord English is not my first language, but it is definitely what we would call a maj7 in my language. A classic jazz chord
Chris, there is gold, There is platinum. There is diamond. Then there is Angelina Jordan Astar, an exceptionally rare and precious gem. I count my blessings every day for having discovered this divinely gifted angel when I did. I NEVER go a day without listening to Angelina sing. I am convinced that Angelina’s voice has bona fide healing affect on our hearts and souls. Her swear her voice has an audible magical elixir than can cure depression, anxiety and stress.
I am a massive Elvis fan and have been for over 60yrs I’m a massive fan. Of Angelina’s for 8yrs so this was perfect for me . The guitar 🎸 she was playing was actually Elvis’s own guitar 🎸 how cool is that . She’s just out of this world no one can touch Angelina she’s the best . I just adore her so much. Great Reaction love from Denise in Yorkshire England 🏴👼👸🏻🦶🦶🎸🎸👏👏👏😊
That guitar was Elvis's guitar. The leather suit she is wearing is similar to the one he wore, the hair is how Priscilla wore her hair. The children are supposed to be her walk to her journey during her young life. Enjoy your reactions.
The guitar was a tribute and symbolism... Her leather, the red guitar, the pianist's jumpsuit...even her hair a tribute to Priscilla...the blue suede shoes on the bed The ENTIRE set has symbolism and tribute to the King
Unfortunately the boots aren't blue. It's the reflection of light on them. Angie has worn those boots several times in the past. The picture with Hedi Clum she wearing them. Most recent pic is on Angie's instagram in underground parking lot wearing black dress singing "On Top of the World" 👍🏻
I traveled from the UK to see her in Norway in July and i can tell you now! I would travel 100 times the distance to see her again. She is mesmerising live! I stood with hundreds of other Angels in total awe of Angelina Jordan live on stage. Great reaction my man.
Awesome! Did you see her at Kurbadhagen on July 10th ? I was there, and I totally agree with what you said, though I only had to travel 80 miles 😁 It was without any doubt THE musical experience of my life ♥♥♥
Flew from NYC to see Angie July 10th. I will fly around the moon to see her sing. I flew back to NYC with Angie and her family as well. Greatest trip ever. 👍🏻
Great reaction - Angelina rearranged the song to bring out the meaning of the story. I was at her concert on July 10th, there it just happened that she had tears in her eyes before she sang this song, what she refers to as happy tears, she wiped the tears from her eyes just before singing the first line - perhaps the emotion of the occasion enabled her to give an ever better performance live than she did in the studio - of course we also were in a heightened emotional state to receive it... I hope that Angelina will return to Norway next summer for more concerts - otherwise I might need to travel to the US to see her...
I listen to your songs all day and most of the night. You lift me up with your beautiful songs.God blessed you with a beautiful voice. Thanks you so much for the beautiful songs.
I hope Angelina will come to Houston some day I would love to see her in concert. Thank you ever one for the likes.May God bless you all.Got to go to listen to Angelina some more.
Better isnt possibel, angelina is the rainbow without rain, her voice, wooooow. Elvis will be so proud 👑♥️🌹🌟i like your reaction, absolutly agree with you, thats perfection, from heaven to earth angelinas voice ❤ok the guitar is from the pianist, rob christie and that is a guitar original from elvis, thats why she play that electro guitar 🎉
Thanks for another great reaction to & appreciation of another masterful reinterpretation by Angelina - this time of this well known Elvis Classic. Btw - the red electric Hagstrom guitar is the same guitar used by Elvis in his comeback tour. This was an intentional part of the tribute to Elvis (along with her black leather jump suit & Priscilla Presley beehive hairdo). Highly recommend her recent live performance of her original song Million Miles - Live at Kongsberg 2022. While I've listened many times to her earlier versions - lyric, studio & music video - now at 16 with a great live band, her new performance is breathtaking, Thank you. And may GOD continue to watch over & bless Angelia Jordan.
Angelina created the vocal arrangement and pianist, Rob Christie wrote the music arrangement. In the beginning credits it shows that the executive producer is Mary Zamani. Mery is Angelina’s grandma. The two youngest children are Angelina’s uncle Michael’s girls and the older female is Angelina’s little sister, Juliette. Everything about this performance and production was purposely paying homage to Elvis. Angelina’s full body leather outfit, the guitar she was using and her bee hive hair style were what Elvis wore and played. He hair style is the same that Priscilla Presley wore in 1968.
I’m late to the party, - but so were you! 😉 Great to see you with Angelina again, hard not to just melt at that voice. On another note, congratulations on building your channel to a very healthy number of subscriptions, keep on doing you ! - it’s working!
I really like your reaction. I believe this song visually shows Angelina growing up with the classics but vocally I believe she was talking to her critics who say she can't feel the songs because hasn't lived them. I think Angelina is an impath and feels other people's emotions and the heart of the song.
With 2M+ views on YT, this is now my all time favorite Angelina performance. The opening line is a WTF moment. Just blows me away. I always look forward to your AJ reactions, Chris. And you never disappoint. She is truly a Phenom. And with Angelina, you get gorgeous as a bonus. WOW!
Great reaction. The guitar is the same as Elvis used in his 69 Comeback tour. It's just another one of the many tributes to Elvis in this video. Thanks 👍🏻
And also the black leather jump suit. Not to mention the color of the pianist's (artistic director of Republic Records, Rob Christie) suit, paying tribute to Elvis' band on the '68 comeback tour. The comeback tour was 1968 and not 1969, right ? Greetings from Norway👍
She was 16 when she did this cover I think those are her two little cousins and the older girl is her sister she nailed Priscilla's hair Elvis's letters and Elvis has a red guitar like that are barefooted princess has learned to play guitar fiddle and a keyboard and her short life yesterday by the Beatles Billie Jean by Michael Jackson are unbelievable covers for the barefooter princess never disappoints 👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣
Saw a reaction to her sing I HAVE NOTHING both live and in person and there was very little different in the sound other than the tambour , this was noted by several music teachers, and they mentioned that little was done to her vocals, this is amazing in this day of electronic fixit .enjoyed your reaction 👍
Hi there, Chris! I'm over the moon every time you react to my favorite artist 🙂 I think you are absolutely right that there is no post-production in any of her videos/performances. Angelina is one of the very few artists that doesn't need it. To be VERY honest, I actually think she sounds even better live. That may sound like a stretch or a sign of poor judgement, but it really isn't. I got to see her for 1,5 hrs straight here in Norway on July 10th, and I just can't tell you enough just HOW great she sounded. Not once off beat or hitting a sour note, just pitch perfect throughout. As for the sound picture in this performance I agree that an acoustic guitar would have lent a better hand to her vocals, but as this was a tribute to Elvis, and also released just around the time of the Elvis movie release, it just would have been a wrong thing to do IMO. Thanks for the shoutout, Buddy 🙂, but YOU're the winner😉 Keep your Angelina reactions coming, I'll be right here waiting for them. Truth be told, I'll be here anyway, but you know what I mean. Have a great Friday and take care! Love from AL, your Norwegian friend ♥♥♥♥♥
Great reaction. Note that her look on this video is an hommage to 68 Elvis comeback special (leather outfit and red electric guitar - same as Elvis used). Her hair is a tip of the hat to Priscilla Presley (the beehive hair). The piano player is Grammy award winner Rob Christie,Director Republic Studios at Universal Music Group. That is how important Angelina is to Republic Records. Not bad considering other artists in their roster include Arianna Grande, Taylor Swift, Drake. A pure diamond and future voice of a generation.
The reason for the electric guitar, was paying respect to Elvis. It was the same guitar from his 1968 Comeback Special, hairdo was paying respect to Prescilla. Did you notice she hiking her heel up to support the guitar, another act paying homage to Elvis. While lying on the reading couch she is wearing blue suede shoes, black leather suit she wore was similar to one Elvis wore. She is class act always paying homage to the Artist she covers, God Bless!
The reason that the electric guitar is totally appropriate for this video is that the video is a tribute to Elvis Presley - The red guitar is the same model that Elvis used in some concerts, and the black leather outfit is similar to what Elvis wore on occasion - The hairstyle is a salute to Priscilla Presley and the red outfit worn by the pianist (Rob Christie, Director of Republic Records LA Studio) is the type of outfit Elvis's band would wear - another thing to point out is that the baby and very little girl are Angelina's cousins and the pre-teen girl is Angelina's sister Juliette.
When she comes to the suspicious mind time at her last Concerts, we know the show comes to the end 🙄but I was happy to listen to her 3 encores at her final concert in Kurbadhagen 💕 This song means a lot of her with tears in her Eyes. Her message for all before..please be kind to everyone and spread Love, because the we need it more in the world 💕🌍 She was also very thankful for all especially who traveled a long way to see her Life ❤️
What a glorious production, praise to everyone involved, so perfect for Angelina Jordan she rules the universe with her talent. Again, the great talent of Rob Christie playing the piano. The Cinemaphotography, a total MASTERPIECE, Excellent ART Cole McCarthy! Great touch, the cousins and sister get a cameo. Mery, you should be so proud, AJ's grandma produced this. (This red guitar is identical to the one Elvis played in his 1968 concert on TV.) Oh, the tears, and loss of breath, she is like no other in the universe. Here is a classic example of what this ethereal talent, Angelina Jordan, can achieve she takes a mundane song and turns it in to phenomenal classic. Angelina at 16 is the MASTER of her universe, she is top priority for both Stargate, and AJ's voice has been unique since she was 7 years old and now at 16, she controls us as an audience, leaving us hang on every word and phrase. She has written a number of songs. My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.
Hey one more comment Chris which is very obvious she's only 16 and she's still a shy kid there's no question in it anybody's mind including yours that she is a true musical prodigy and her career is going to be huge
A swedish electric guitar - Hagström Viking 2, which Elvis used 68. The metal neck was very heavy so it hanged down. Many guitarist at that time even if they did have a Hagström found it cool imitatating by letting the guitar neck hang down.
Angelina Jordan got to the heart of the story and laid it bare for all of us to hear. No hiding it under the party vibe. And yet it is beautiful in transcendence. Her 2 little cousins and then sister represent Angelina's growth physically and artistically. The electric guitar is an important nod to Elvis. I love it. And, you know, in her I Have Nothing video, it is the same---she sounded as good in outdoor concerts this summer in Norway. I love that. 💜
Angelina fans, this man is the real deal. His reactions are real and honest coming straight from his obvious love of the art of music. Great to see you visit AJ again. For another awesome treat, watch his reaction to Disturbed’s version of Sound of Silence. You will see what I am talking about. Thank you for this one.
If this team does not receive some kind of award for this masterpiece, then something is seriously wrong with the music industry. Angelina delivers a stunning performance! One for the ages. I’ve heard it 100 times and wept just now, hearing it again! Great review Chris!
Elvis Presley and his producer Felton Jarvis cleverly covered this *Mark James song from 1968 in 1969* , Elvis' last #1 hit in the US and #7 of his most successful songs. Felton Jarvis took the original arrangement completely and pushed the song with more speed and additional instruments (wind instruments, violin etc.) and a spectacular backing choir (in the studio version) and of course with Elvis Presley's voice. Pianist Rob Christie changed the musical arrangement and Angelina the vocal arrangement, but she didn't change the lyrics. Angelina changes the lyric structure, starting with the bridge and giving the song a different meaning. Once again many people don't hear and understand the song until when Angelina tells the story. 💯 *AJ* 💯
Angelina is known as one of a handful of artists in the music business who can lay down a track in one take , and she is not afraid to take iconic songs and reimagine something new and wonderful for us for which we should all be thankful for . Myself , I just cant wait for her new album to be released as I am sure it is going to blow us all away . thnx for your reaction
Thanks Chris for the great reaction, but I love that particular cut that gives hers chords with the electric guitar, they are at the same time a break and a tribute. This cover of Angelina is for me an authentic musical poem, I find it sweet and powerful at the same time, it's absolutely and wonderfully mesmerizing. 💛🧡❤ Chris you absolutely must listen to some of the songs from her concerts in Norway, you will really realize how natural her voice is and without any manipulation, some of the interpretations, in particular of the last concert on July 10th, were absolutely stratospheric from a vocal point of view.
Thank you for returning to Angelina. Your reactions to her performances are always worth watching. I am certain you know that the song was written by Mark James, an American singer/songwriter, who recorded it the year it was written. The best known version, however, was that done by Elvis Presley. It was his last No 1 song. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, Mark James is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them . To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song. The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aurora (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family. Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along).
Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great and, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammys), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister. If you haven’t already reacted to her latest studio of Whitney Houston's version you should - here’s the link - ua-cam.com/video/iX0g99jN26U/v-deo.html 🙂
Can't believe you hadn't done this yet. You're usually on top of Angelina videos. Yeah! She’s something special, isn’t she? Pure Velvet Perfection! This vocal arrangement was all Angelina, I have no doubt in collaboration with a stellar team including Rob Christie & Mery Zamani her Grandmother. She is a Master Storyteller. The video is shot in the same Antique Store that she did 'My Funny Valentine' on Valentine’s Day. I believe it is in LA near her home. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. Thus the Antique store, She grew up studying and performing these classics. Did you notice that right foot raise it''s heal to cradle the guitar a couple of times in the performance. I was waiting for her to throw in a little shake to it in homage to the King. Could that have been intentional? That is Rob Christie on piano. Sister Juliette and a couple of Uncle Michael's Babies. I think that makes them cousins not nieces. Full Black Leather Bodysuit, the guitar from his concert in 68 and the hair a homage to Priscilla Presley. Yeah! She can bring tears to your eyes. I base my interpretation on my knowledge of Angelina's journey from an 18 month old little girl singing a "classic" of music history 'I Will Always Love You' . She has been listening to these classics on repeat on U-Tube since then under the guidance and inspiration of her Grandmother Mery Zamani. She has been performing these classics since her first time in studio at 6 yrs old.. She has continued this journey through her 1st introduction to the world with her "Classic'" 'Gloomy Sunday and following with her many performances at her many Jazz Festivals, TV performances, Concerts, and charity events, studio recordings and practice sessions at home accompanied or not. The location in the Antique store represents these classics (like the furniture) of another era. To me she portrays wonder at all these classics surrounding her. as she has travelled this road. Her tribute to Elvis is at her present age, today, each stage represented by her cousins and sister and ending with Angelina herself on the couch still admiring all this history surrounding her. The beautiful rendition of the song, and other tributes are in the leather outfit, Guitar and hair a tribute to Priscilla. Just my interpretation but it makes the most sense to me. .♥👣👸🏻
Here is a video of Angelina performing this song live at one of her 2022 Norway Concerts - you will also enjoy what she says before she starts singing: ua-cam.com/video/bIBYDdWSw6Q/v-deo.html
The entire video is a tribute to Elvis Chris...therefore the red Comeback Tour guitar that Elvis used in 68 is PerFect. The leather suit, tribute to Elvis, the hairdo a tribute to Priscilla Presley and the red jump suit that Rob Christie on piano is wearing is tribute to band members from Comeback Tour as well. In other words all of this works perfectly and everything done here was for a reason, a tribute to the King, by the Queen, Angelina.
The reason for the red electric guitar is because of the homage to Elvis. Hence, also, her leather outfit, her hair, the piano player wearing a red suit.
Larry, when you listen to this again also look around and see all the references to Elvis. The guitar is the style Elvis used and that's why it appears in the video. Her hair resembles Priscilla's style and her outfit is similar to what Elvis wore on many occasions. Even the piano player dressed like one of Elvis' band members. As usual, she created a whole new song and she presented the story of it like only she can. Btw, the piano player is Rob Christie, an executive at Republic Records in LA and a several times Grammy Award winner who is usually at the keys when Angelina is recording a new video.
Guitar is Elvises from come back tour so nostalgia.. leather, mic, red suit, Pricellas beehive, boots, etc. AJ known for single takes unless helping accompaniment, no messing around
Miss Astar has Angelized yet another classic song. Her arrangement and vocal choices are magical. About a year ago, Angelina's team told us angels they believed reactions were hurting Angelina's analytics. There is some logic that if angels are watching reaction videos then they have less time to watch the original video. We enjoy reaction videos and don't want to hurt those channels so the solution was to suggest reactors encourage viewers to watch, like, share and comment on the original video. Thankfully hundreds of reaction channels have implemented our suggestions and we encourage they do so for each artist they feature.
This video is so cool in so many ways and then we have a great vocal by the amazing Angelina. I like the original Elvis version quite a bit, but I feel that this slowed down version matches the lyrics better. A serious subject matter and a seriously beautiful vocal. Love it! Have a good day Chris.
Angelina is always real. This is an instant classic too me. I'm not sure what you mean by miss. With her jazz background, she is sometimes slightly ahead or behind based on what she feels. Or she drags notes out. I could never question her musical choices. Nice reaction, though.
love reaction, glad someone else feels the electric is a bit twang but it was a tribute. Watching many reactions who talk about this strength or that seem to be missing the fact she is all strength, nobody seems to find weakness.
Lovely reaction good sir :) amazing reinterpretation by her here. This is subjective stuff, but that was only a hundred times better than that song has ever been done before. I also love the little mistakes here or there, the lack of post production in her works. Why clean up breathing or anything else when you can instead prove she is quite literally the instrument? Everything about her has been rather raw and that's always been a huge part of the feel. Now that she is so refined in so many ways, not cleaning things up is kind of our best way to keep that important part of what she does to us. I don't know if that is correct for other people, but the storytelling is great, the vocals are just unreal, and the raw feel does actually matter in her work almost as much. It bugs some people I've noticed, but only until they let it go I assume. Maybe being that good is what helps, but it seems like a leg up in keeping her studio stuff giving a similar feel as live. Seems like something we never really needed cleaned up, though that could just be her that can get away with that. Side note. Seeing this arrangement credited to Rob Christie is such a breath of fresh air. She loves to arrange her own stuff we know. But apparently, him and Republic Records would have to be very much on board with what she does if he arranged this. As if perfectly arranged like she would, and for her. No one should ever stop keeping an eye on labels nor trust them, but what a solid sign for our favorite singer :) and our fears for her.
Watching and listening to this beautiful child grow into the beautiful young woman and artist she has become has been the most exciting experience of my life. We are lucky indeed!! The electric guitar is there for effect (a tribute to Elvis); it's not there because it adds anything important to the music, in my opinion. Angelina plays guitar but she's not a guitar player.😎
pawel I disagre with you about the guitar playing. But I agree with a long-time music producer who said in his reaction video that he considered the guitar in the song as being what held the song together musically.
Chris, Angelina chose to use this particular model guitar because it’s the same hollow body electric guitar that Elvis used in his 1968 Come Back Special.
I would be surprised if there was ANY autotune with AJ. Why? No need. It’s perfect as it stands. The truly great don’t need it. She’s without question one of the greatest of all time.
Elvis Red Guitar Hagstrom Viking '67 Viking II Wild Cherry Transparent this is the same type of guitar he used in the 68 concerts. Modern Day Technology The new Hagstrom ’67 Viking® II equipped with its hollow-body slim lined flame maple ply body, is adjoined to a 6-in-line, bolt-on Canadian maple neck. The new specially developed dual coiled Hagstrom Mini-Humbucking pickups will bring players back to the golden age of rock/pop music, with the introduction of the newly developed Hagstrom “H-52” Mini Humbucker pickups. The same classic vibe from the 60’s originals, fused together with modern day technology for a classic and punchy humbucker tone or in splitable single coil mode, providing players with complete tonal flexibility. Elvis Presley's '68 Comeback Special Hagstrom Viking II is hitting the auction block | Guitar World The Hagstrom Red Guitar used in this video is a modern up to date copy of the one Elvis used in 1968. The Hagstrom Red Guitar belonged to musician Al Casey, a member of Elvis’ backing band during the special in 1968. According to an accompanying letter from Casey, he was asked to let Elvis use the guitar by the producers, as they "thought it would look beautiful on camera and with the set."
Elvis Presley’s 1942 Martin D-18 acoustic guitar may have recently sold for $1.32 million, but fear not - another of the King’s axes, this one his cherry-red Hagstrom Viking II electric guitar, famous for its use in the legendary '68 Comeback Special, is hitting the block. The semi hollow instrument is a highlight of Kruse GWS Auctions’ Artifacts of Hollywood & Music auction, which begins on March 27. It's being offered with a starting bid of $250,000. By Matt Owen published March 31, 2021. Now, it has been confirmed that the legendary semi-hollow has been sold for a whopping $625,000, with the proud new owner of the lot managing to outbid six other plucky bidders to get their hands on the prized piece of music memorabilia. The ‘68 Comeback Special marked Elvis' return to live performance after seven years spent focused on acting in Hollywood films. The televised concert, which launched Presley's return to live touring, featured him playing the Hagstrom for the opening segment as well as during one of the live "stand-up" segments.
I'm not sure Chris but I think she was trying to emulate Elvis when he sang this same red guitar same black jumpsuit same bouffant hair just like Priscilla I really don't know whether Elvis used an electric guitar or not but I think maybe that's why she did it your musical knowledge is much greater than mine so you probably do know in any of that I think this is just astounding I hope you do too thanks for the reaction again my friend and again 65,000 Subs that's astounding too congratulations
@@poolhallshark i know my punctuation is terrible! I try to use talk to text because I'm handicapped. But when I do i don't know how to add punctuation. ☹ i know you and Chris are buddies.i also know you both like Angelina . To my mind she is going to be a superstar. In her Norway concerts it's easy to forget she is still a shy 16 year old kid! I'm 75 years old and probably won't get to see her career bloom. I envy Chris and you because I hope you do. Take care my friend.
@@waynedenni3187 Oh.. I'm sorry to hear about your handicap. And now I feel kinda bad for making the joke in the first place🥺 I am sorry🙏 I hope you'll hang on long enough to see her start her career. I am hopeful that her upcoming album, hopefully early next year, will be the first attempt. I am extremely excited to see the direction of that album. Thank you for your kind words🙂 You too take care now🥰
Hey Chris, been a while! When your reaction is joy - which clearly yours was - its joyful for everyone else. You're contagious, man, in the best way possible!!
Great reaction. Always is. Gotta rock with Angelina and the electric guitar. It worked great toward the end.
Keep doing your thing
I listen every day for hours can't get enough of her beautiful voice
Thank U 4 That Comment How Lucky Are We 2B aLive & Hear This girL Sang n Our LifeTime. No One Ever Say it Better. Margaritas 4U 🔥🍷🍹🍾
I feel the same. I listen to her for hrs a day, morning, noon and night and it's never too much. Thankyou Angelina for gracing us with your beautiful gift. God bless you dear.
She gets it, period. And gives it back strong, exclamation point!
This song was my all time favorite song of Elvis’s.
She knows what she’s doing her arrangements are hers as is her creativity, appreciate and trust 😊
The guitar is symbolism to Elvis, the hair, the piano players suit, her in the black, is all Elvis symbolism.
Thanks for the reaction to our angel Angelina..she’s simply the best..❤
I play the piano and had the same reaction when I heard that chord
English is not my first language, but it is definitely what we would call a maj7 in my language.
A classic jazz chord
I am amazed that you haven't reacted to 10 yr old Angelina ' I put a spell on you '. I really do like how you break down things. 👍
The red electric guitar was the same one that Elvis used . The guy playing piano is a Grammy award winner, several times.
Don’t ask for details? ❤
That guitar is a 1967 Hagstrom Viking II same guitar Elvis played in his 1968 Special on Tv. Same color also.
That is an iconic Elvis guitar, I'm sure chosen very deliberately :~)
Chris, there is gold, There is platinum. There is diamond. Then there is Angelina Jordan Astar, an exceptionally rare and precious gem. The guitar was a tribute and symbolism... Her leather, the red guitar, the pianist's jumpsuit...even her hair a tribute to Priscilla...the blue suede shoes on the bed
The ENTIRE set has symbolism and tribute to the King
Except her cousins and her sister. 😊
It's about herself.
Unfortunately the boots aren't blue. It's the reflection of light on them. Angie has worn those boots several times in the past. The picture with Hedi Clum she wearing them. Most recent pic is on Angie's instagram in underground parking lot wearing black dress singing "On Top of the World" 👍🏻
EXACTLY ....so many people miss that about her...she pays tribute to the performers whose nusic she covers.
I was there, and I totally agree with what you said, though I only had to travel 80 miles 😁 It was without any doubt THE musical experience of my life ♥♥♥
angelina must be proud to hear this. did you meet her? please tell me how is she in the real live
by the way you are real angels
@@lukmankaryono7782 udah lama ngefans ama Angelina? Saya udah sejak 2015' an.
Flew from NYC to see Angie July 10th. I will fly around the moon to see her sing. I flew back to NYC with Angie and her family as well. Greatest trip ever. 👍🏻
Beautiful tribute to the King.
The two greatest artists of the last century: Elvis and Angelina. I have seen both on live on stage, so I know !!!
Always look forward to your reactions of Angelina. I loved Angelina's re-interpretation of this Elvis song. Please keep them coming ....
I hope that Angelina will return to Norway next summer for more concerts - otherwise I might need to travel to the US to see her...
stunning performance.......glorious!
Angelina doesn't cover songs - she uncovers them, delivering their essence to heart. Wonderful!
uh I love that. Thats exactly what it is!
Love the description, Gary.
Absolutely beautiful.
At 7 she wanted to grow up to be a Superstar.
When she grows up, Superstars will want to be her.
A mini masterpiece. What else can you say......You are right...how lucky are we......what a blessing...love it...every time... thanks for playing it.
I literally laughed out loud at your expression with her first notes..
Great Better Best, Angelina! What can I say, her voice matures like the best wine. So rich and powerful. And she won´t stop to surprise us.
U should react to elvis singing unchained melody, unbelievable voice! #larryshair
What this girls voice can do to ones Soul and Heart is off the scale. Such a beautiful production. Lovely reaction.
Pure eargasm ❤️ She is amazing 👍
With AJ, it's all about the voice. Simple backing is all she needs.
Nice to see you here again!
WOW!
Yes this one is very very very addictive
The electric guitar is a tribute to Elvis and his guitar.
One of my favourites from her offerings this year. Always loved her lower register and it got even richer.
So gorgeous, So beautiful....her vocals. Only Angelina Jordan can give us such a marvelous rendition. Thanks
Great reaction. The guitar is the same as Elvis used in his 69 Comeback tour. It's just another one of the many tributes to Elvis in this video. Thanks 👍🏻
Yes, that makes it a real tribute to Elvis . Also that hairstyle reminds me of his wife.
And also the black leather jump suit. Not to mention the color of the pianist's (artistic director of Republic Records, Rob Christie) suit, paying tribute to Elvis' band on the '68 comeback tour. The comeback tour was 1968 and not 1969, right ? Greetings from Norway👍
Right. I watched it back then.
@@poolhallshark 68 I hit the 9. 1968.👍🏻
I agree about the autotune, Angelina doesnt need it, she is just that good :)
It's a genius performance
I'm blessed like sneezes to witness this comforting video tonight 😉🤗
lol, thanks!
Thanks Al! I can always count on a visit from you when I drop an AJ song! So fun to see you here for these!
Lucky indeed Larry! Lucky perhaps doesn’t quite cut it..how about blessed? Great reaction as ever..))
Simplemente, La Reina...
When she comes to the suspicious mind time at her last Concerts, we know the show comes to the end 🙄but I was happy to listen to her 3 encores at her final concert in Kurbadhagen 💕
This song means a lot of her with tears in her Eyes. Her message for all before..please be kind to everyone and spread Love, because the we need it more in the world 💕🌍
She was also very thankful for all especially who traveled a long way to see her Life ❤️
What a glorious production, praise to everyone involved, so perfect for Angelina Jordan she rules the universe with her talent.
Nobody thinks of Elvis anymore when you hear this rendition, lol! Angelina has the talent to make any song her own!
Electric guitar works for me because it's an Elvis song. That's the same guitar used on the poster from the Elvis movie.
Chris you absolutely must listen to some of the songs from her concerts in Norway, you will really realize how natural her voice is and without any manipulation, some of the interpretations, in particular of the last concert on July 10th, were absolutely stratospheric from a vocal point of view.
He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of."
Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat".
Thanks for this!
promised I would check out some new music from your channel, this was great 👍
Nice! Glad you enjoyed!!!
If you haven’t already reacted to her latest studio of Whitney Houston's version you should - here’s the link - ua-cam.com/video/iX0g99jN26U/v-deo.html
🙂
Just want this on Spotify ❤️ If it is with that guitar or other... dont care... her voice is just gold, and this is so freakin beautiful ❤️
Right?
And the piano player is 2 time Grammy winner Rob christi.
There's four miss Astar. 😁
This video is so cool in so many ways and then we have a great vocal by the amazing Angelina. I like the original Elvis version quite a bit, but I feel that this slowed down version matches the lyrics better. A serious subject matter and a seriously beautiful vocal. Love it! Have a good day Chris.
So glad that Angelina doesn't do bubble-gum pop songs..instead she makes timeless art like this. And does it like no one else!
The electric guitar in homage to Elvis along with the black suit and the hair homage to Priscilla.
It's the guitar that Elvis used on his comeback tour.
Okay. You let the "cat out of the bag" as to one of the instrument which will be included when she does this cover in her future.
The guitar is a match to what Elvis used on his 1968 comeback tour and belongs to Rob Christie

Elvis Presley's '68 Comeback Special Hagstrom Viking II is hitting the auction block | Guitar World
The Hagstrom Red Guitar used in this video is a modern up to date copy of the one Elvis used in 1968.
I totally agree with you 🙂 And I'll add a few full stops for you as well. ...... No offense, just kidding😂
