I went to Casitas first and the lake is at full pool, which I've never seen, but fishing was awful, so I went to Cachuma and caught my largest bass of the trip!
Casitas was rough from the bank because of the debris and stuff, but I would think the flooded island you used to drive down to would be good as well as that big main island cove on the west side before the dam
Its not the lake its the fisherman , learn to adapt you cant wacky rig senkos forever, if you insist on throwing senkos try texas rig weedless you should be able to fish thru trees no problem without loosing many baits.
I LOVE THIS LAKE. It humbles you even before the tippy top water level.
true

I hear you. Unfortunately I had limited gear with me.

When I went it was very murky. I just didn't have the patience to find them. Nice job!
What do you think of pyramid?
I like it. Mostly because I like the striper bite. Wind can be a problem and I don't know the lake super well but I love striper fishing.
