How to Use Messenger Vanish Mode - Disappearing Messages!

- Facebook has launched a new feature for Messenger called Vanish Mode that allows users to send disappearing messages. Watch this video to learn how to enable and use Messenger Vanish Mode.

Open Messenger and select the chat conversation you’d like to use Vanish Mode in. The Vanish Mode setting can only be applied to one-on-one chats, so you won’t be able to use it in groups. Once you’re inside the chat you want to enable Vanish Mode in, swipe upwards to quickly switch into Vanish Mode. If this doesn’t work, you can instead tap the person’s name at the top. Scroll down and tap Vanish Mode. Then, tap the switch to enable Vanish Mode. When Vanish Mode is enabled, your chat will appear with a dark background and a “Turn Off Vanish Mode” button will appear above. When you send messages with Vanish Mode enabled, your messages will disappear from the chat after the other person in the chat has opened them. Like Snapchat, you’ll be notified if someone takes a screenshot of the conversation while Vanish Mode is enabled.

I can't swipe up or find that option in the settings.
I accident turned it on and now cannot get rid of it. I cannot even use messenger.

I accidentally turn on vanish mode and now I can’t even get the conversation open and turn off vanish mode. And now I stuck without be able to see the persons name
This happened to me and the conversation only disappeared from my end…not on the other person’s device. Scam.

Yeah I hate it because then I can't screenshoot the assholes convo and use it against him in court. sucks!!!

The messages with a specific person on messenger disappear without the use of vanish mode. I asked the person involved and she didn’t have a clue. She was also capable of taking screenshots of the missing dialogues and showed Them to me.Anyone knows what’s going on here?

I'm in the same boat. Can't find a solution anywhere.
The SAME here. All of my messages from the last 24 hours are gone from MY phone but the other person still has theirs. LOST a crucial message with meeting details.
@@souldeep808 I ended up uninstalling the app and reinstalled it and the messages all came back.

I accidentally turned it on and a message disappeared, I've turned it off now but need that message back, how do you get it back ?
Messages sent in vanish mode will disappear, so unfortunately you cannot get them back. That's the point of Vanish Mode.

Are the messages going to vanish for both people
Only IOS seems to have this update. Three of my co workers had it on their Iphones. A recent update was passed for Android, but it still doesn't activate it.
I have an iPhone and did not download the update.... it’s on my phone anyway.
If this doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall the app. All the messages came back for me.

Will both people in the chat know when vanish mode is turned on by one person?
When you send a message in Vanish Mode, the recipient will be able to see that it was sent in Vanish Mode. The chat will remain in Vanish Mode until turned off.
@@techlifeunity What if I don't have mine on vanish mode but the person I chat with does, can they tell if I screenshot the conversation?

Can you use vanish mode with a contact who has blocked you on messenger?
No, if you're blocked you cannot message them at all, even with vanish mode
Tf it still says I sent that person a message how do o get off
