Mecklenburg - Decent Burger, But Not French

- The Mecklenburg has some nice things going for it, mainly dispersion really. However the horrendous firing angles and low gun caliber is a big source of frustration for me. Mostly found myself missing the Bourgogne, the French burger, the direct steel competition for this one.

This game really showed some of my fav things about this ship, the dispersion when shooting especially the Ognevoi. But it also highlighted how painfully bad the firing angles are, even worse than GKs. Considering Bourgogne is 30k steel, 1k cheaper, this is a pretty hard sell for me,

I use rudder-shift module and it makes the ship much more enjoyable. Do prefer Bourgogne, but not by a huge margin.
No citadels were harmed in making this video.

I think I'd consider this ship more as a "What Marlborough should've been" rather than just a (questionably) Bourgogne sidegrade.
Marlborough is actually a pretty decent ship I rate B+ tier

I don't know why people are giving crap about Marlborough. It's not bad at all. 16 British HE is not bad at all at tier 9. It's got Heavy cruiser guns and good maneuverability. if this game was played with Marlborough he would have gotten more fire chance.
Interesting how this BB is much more likely to proc the main battery reload talent than other German BBs.

I honestly think the Mec will grow on Flamu when he stops comparing it to other ships and starts figuring out his angles of attack with it. You can gripe about firing angles, but that sigma + dispersion is sick, and the fire chances ARE actually solid - stats don't lie - RNG does.
I agree, its really strong in clan battles.
the problem i have with this ship is why would you pick it over the Bourgogne or even the Conqueror? Hell if i just want a top tier HE spammer BB i can pick the latter tech tree option and not spend 31k Steel. It's also not like there's a shortage of good German premiums.....
this ship fills a niche that was already filled by other ships who can do what it can and more

Defs more of an HE spammer, I really prefer this for gun hits missions for BB, Burger is still way better and will always be, but mecklen is quite solid and still fun to me

Yeah, with shitty German BB dispersion, the 4x4 12inch shells bound to hit something than standard 4x2 15 or 16 inch shells.
@@howtogitgud It has BC dispersion with a sigma of 2.01 if I'm not wrong kinda good if it wasn't for the fact it's small guns well at least it can start fires..
Was so torn between Meck and Incomp (I have Bourg and Stalingrad) that I punted and bought the Salem for coal with the coupon. It just reset, and it's looking like Incomp at this point.
incomp would be the better choice. salem is frustrating b/c it has less hp than DM and you can barely use the super heal due to crap heal %. also not really viable as radar build

6 vs 16 barrels, and Incomp even has longer reload. Mecklenburg has almost 50% higher DPM with both shell types. Also, much more HP and a turtleback. Mobility is equal, although Incomp has a massively larger turning circle.
Incomp has very high caliber, battlecruiser dispersion, great camo and 8% engine boost, but that's about it.
But again, 6 vs 16 barrels. Just that would already answer the question for me.

Small for bb guns, yes, but not too small imo. Large enough to chunk most bb broadsides with AP. Don't expect citadels at high ranges, but you will get >10k often, and frequently even >20k on the turtleback-germans.
But it does disgusting things to cruiser broadsides.
Picksd up bourgonge last night as my first steel ship, and im in love.
Mecklenburg looked interesting, but ive had my sights set on burger for awhile now, and id like to get incomp beforr mecklenburg anyways.

Burger is just way to good. Excellent at he farming, with enough speed, armor and penn to allow for late game pushes.

@@BigD321 I know the Ap is good . That’s why I mentioned the good pen on the guns and that the ship is good at late game pushes. Sorry if that wasn’t clear. I love Burgers ap. It’s one of the few BBs I play where I can consistently cit Yammys at 16 k
Noted. I’m hitting on about 1-2k steel away from either Stalingrad or Bourg. Kinda want to go for Bourg but I hear Stalingrad is a must for comp. I don’t do CB’s but I do play ranked. Any idea on which fits my situation better?

Last night when coupon reset I got the incomparable, I already have bourg witch I love and from watching videos on this new German BB felt incomparable was way to go.
What do you think about the incomparable? Does it feel as strong as bourg?
@@Very_Unwise they play different but the handful of matches I have played with it I love it. 10.6 detect, 51mm deck armor, 40kts speed. Just have to be VERY angled. The guns are very accurate I found. In the 5 matches I played I am at average damage of 131k right now. But I also love Georgia, bourg, German battle cruisers. So I have come to enjoy the more mobile play style vs sit back and snipe .

To answer the question at the end:
Is Stalingrad worth it?
YES. It has incredibly powerful guns. Very consistent accuracy. You can citadel Yamatos at 16km. There are T10 BBs that CAN'T do that. BBs like GK, Montana, Borgonge(spelling).
Stalingrad gives you T10 BB firepower on a T9 Battlecruiser hull and is classed by the MM as a T10 Cruiser. You have the mobility of T10 DDs and because that is not enough already, it accelerates and slows down like a light cruiser.
I would love to have the Stalingrad you have... The mobility is utter garbage. The top speed is very good, but that's it. Half of the T10 cruisers have similar rudder shift, and the other half is *massively* better (about 33% lower). Turning circle is larger than on most T10 BBs, and (de-)acceleration is AT LEAST as bad as on heavy cruisers.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with most things you said, Stalingrad is a great ship and I enjoy it as well. But the mobility, except the top speed, is just rubbish.

I recommend you switch from rudder shift to propulsion 2 in the 4th modification slot.
This is paramount on many T10 cruisers. they have 40s engine response time. Prop2 halves that to 20s. Imagine a Stalingrad going from standstill to 30kts between main gun reloads.
Broken? NOOOO.
You angle away and exploit the broken fireing arcs of the front turrets. 150° to the rear and the rear turret can turn 154° to the front.
If you sit still in a Stalingrad you throw away half of what makes this ship good.
You HAVE to keep moving, accelerating, slowing, steering. This is often referred by the community as speed trolling.

I'm using neither of those, I reduce fire and flooding time because it has BB fire/flooding and it gets lit quite frequently.
Saying that the mobility is rubbish doesn't mean I stay broadside often. Honestly, fires are a much larger problem for me than citadels.

I go by the idea of NOT getting hit.
TRY propulsion2. It is the biggest change you can make. (I apparently have a 72% winrate in it. I just looked.) Though I have stopped playing 2 months ago.

Honestly i think if this thing wouldve good angles it would be busted. I mean you always have atleast 8 shells in the air anyway.
This ship is GREAT. Great guns (many of them, great dispersion and range, great reload), Good AA. Nice 11 km secondaries if u spec hybrid like I do so u have that too. It has torps so ther's an extra option too if needed. And the basic hull od good ant tanky. I think its a completly different beast compared to the burger. They are both great ships, but different. Definetly worth the steel both of them. PLUS Mecklenburg could potentially be good in competition too (definetly more suited than 99% of other german BB's lol)
I dont see any general scenario where this is better than Schlieffen. The most broken BB in this Game next to Musashi

Cant decide between Bourgogne and Stalingrad, this is what I got so far
Bourgogne:
- Already have JB (my fav Ship)
- kinda like the Frenchies guns
- EngineBooster and MBRB are really nice imo
- 21pt Cap for Frenchies
Stalingrad:
- already got shitro
- old but gold Steel Ship, still usable
- could need a Big Cruiser since the others are T9
- only 18pt Cap since I haven't played that much Soviet Navy
What do you recommend? Feel a bit better in a BB (especially the French) but I also wanted to give a try to a cruiser (Plymouth and Austin are a no-go)

The bourg is a great BB have had it over a year now and solid performer. I just got the incomparable and have been enjoying it too.
Id say get bourgogne, especially considering you already like french bbs, bourgogne is literally super JB lol
I got burger last night and im in love with her.
As someone said, patrie is coming up at some point, however, its a bit of a different beast than burger. Patrie is ofc basically an alsace with repub turrets instead, it gets the same reload as alsace, and it gets burger sigma (1.8), but they took away the reload buff from its gimmick, so you’re not going to be able to pump out shells in the same fashion that burger could.
I think that in itself still gives bourgogne good value. Thats just my opinion tho.
Bourgogne has definitely lived up to the hype for me tho.

Debated this but got incomparable. But I swear have bad rng 30% accuracy at close range stationary bbs
Fires AP 75% of the time, complains that he did not start many fires...
He played a few battles before and his impression is right. I had matches with >100 HE hits and no fire.

honestly dont see much point to getting this ship... like, if you wanna HE spam, why not play conqueror or just bourgogne herself? and bourgogne is cheaper too.
this ship is what marlborough should have been, but for steel tbh i'd only take it if you have nothing else to get.
In NA server there are a TON of IJN bbs in tier X rooms. And considering all these super bbs, playing as conqueror or bourgogne in an environment where almost all bbs overmatch 32 is a pain in the ass, especially when against Satsuma with F on. Not to mention Conde and Annapolis eat conqueror and bourgogne for afternoon tea.
On the other hand, mecklenburg have 50 deck. This means it is immune to BB AP overmatch, annapolis cannot pen the deck, and conde can only pen the deck if she use F. Mecklenburg's survivability is much much stronger than bourgogne or even thunderer in the current meta.
Better armor, better dispersion, better secondaries, and you have torps.
Bourg does well when kiting or pushing a flank. It does not bow in tank due to 32mm armor. The HE is great and the AP is great on it.
@@josephsun3755 thing is you can deal with Japanese bbs pretty easily just by sitting at range. Burger with its stupid 24 km range and high shell speed can easily

If you want to use all of your turrets all the time then yes.
Bourgogne will eat HE for days or Yamato or anything else that can overmatch it but it can still angle well and bounce AP. Mecklenburg gets shat on by AP if trying to use all 4 turrets
I dunno, on SEA at least with the amount of Yamatos (and its variants) and HE spam around, Bourgogne just gets chunked for 10k+ all the time

@@Dropbare in terms of battle power yes, absolutely. However I ranked them not only in terms of raw power but especially in terms of how fun/unique they are. Bourg and Incomp offer a very unique experience, while Shiki is a sidegrade Yammy that plays more or less the same

that's because it has the smallest caliber guns of all the tier X BBs in the game. this thing has battlecruiser guns so it isnt gonna punch through anything that isnt close up
