🐟Species description:
The Pike, also known as the Northern Pike, has one of the widest native ranges among freshwater fish species (it includes Northern Europe, Asia and America). Pike prefer lakes and rivers with weak currents. It occurs in brackish water (the Gulf of Finland and the Gulf of Riga of the Baltic Sea, the Sea of Azov). However, sufficient oxygenation is a mandatory condition.
Pike is an ambush predator, hunting in riparian thickets, under snags, near fallen trees on sloping areas on the bottom. It avoids strong currents. Its diet is based on fish of other species (and sometimes of its own), frogs, crustaceans. Occasional attacks on ducks, mice and squirrels are also known.
Pike can reach a length of 1.5 m and a weight up to 35 kg. An average specimen weights about 5 to 8 kg. The body is elongated and arrow-shaped. Its long and flat head resembles that of a crocodile. The specifics of the species is that pike's teeth change throughout its life. Its colouration is blotchy and ranges from greyish green to tawny grey. There are lighter stripes along and across its body. The main colour depends on the surrounding vegetation. The back is dark, the belly is whitish with grey flecks. Dorsal, anal and caudal fins are brownish with black spots. Pectoral and pelvic fins are yellowish red.
🐟Waterbody description:
A small meandering river, with its source situated somewhere near Yaroslavl. The river channel is quite narrow, which makes fishing with practically any tackle comfortable here. A beginner at spin fishing would particularly enjoy this location, as he or she would find here a wide range of predatory fish species. A couple of humble stores and a workshop can be hunted up in the nearest village, and on the edge of the forest there is a sawmill, where rare sorts of wood, used for making lures, can be bought.
To access this body you have to be level 7.

I'm using the starter spinning gear (Corona m60M, Express 3.5 drag reel).. could I do this to get money to buy better equipment? I'm tired of catching small chub 500g and perch 200g... Money is insanely small (~10 coins per hour). What lure do you recommend?
Not at all, go to Belaya and spin for some fish instead
@@sandkrypare2494 What lure for Belaya? I used Dragonfly Bell 2 001 and 007, then a Flurry T07 and T06 and only caught small perch and like a 300g chub

Use a 7 kg carbon leader then they won't bite you off but you'll still get plenty of takes.
Pikes cut very easy a 17 kg fluorocarbon leader... imagine with 7 kg :))

@@fishingmadness9551 Not fluorocarbon - carbon, you'll find them under steel leaders. They are very good but quite expensive.
