Yes! First year gardener here. I got some in the mail yesterday from native seeds. I looked at them and thought ‘what do I do now?’ Haha. This video comes at a perfect time. Thank you Angela. ❤
You are such a fountain of garden knowledge, I can't tell you how many times I've turned to your videos for advice. Thanks for the "straight to the point" videos with their beautiful visual proof of your garden expertise.
I thought I would have to give up gardening bc we’re planning to live in Vegas but your garden in Arizona gives me so much hope!! Thank you for sharing such informative videos I’ve learned so much about desert gardening from you
Whelp, you've sold me. I would love to have an onion I can grow through summer (Houston Tx). I do not much care for green onions but I love to use the white parts in cooking these look like they could fill that need perfectly. I'll be growing full bulb onions too but those are more time sensitive (and I loved your video on that subject as well). Bless you for your good videos and your willingness to share knowledge.
@@GrowingInTheGarden I live in Brooklyn, where we definitely get freezing temps in the winter. Do you know if I need to pull them out? (I know you live in AZ, but the info I am finding online is conflicted).
Thank you Angela for making the I'itol Onion Bulbs available at the AZ Worm Farm! I purchased a bag today and am so excited to plant them in my backyard garden in Goodyear. We hope it will be the gift that keeps on giving. Love all your informative videos!
After watching your video, I went to the Native Seeds website and purchased several of the l’itoi onion bunches for myself and family members. I can’t wait to give these a try in the garden. I live in zone 9b Southern California and I love your channel since our climates our similar. I enjoy all your videos and find all your recommendations very helpful. Thank you
I planted some bunching onions this year for the first time. I'm hoping they will do the same thing as your onions. I haven't done any harvesting yet, but when I do, Now I know what to do with them to spread them around my garden.
I bought some from Vilardi Gardens at the Roadrunner Farmers Market this past weekend. I'm hoping to get them put them in my container garden this weekend! I'm planning to put them in some five gallon buckets along with some pepper plants.
I bought a bag of seed onions and I think there’s way more than I’ll ever be able to use if they grow half as good as you say they will. They almost seem invasive!
I just love watching your videos! I grew up in northern arizona and when I moved to phx I thought I would never be able to grwo anything like the gardens I grew up with. But I am finding I can! Do you know a place where I can buy I'itoi bulbs? Or do you sell some?
Wow I will buy some now! Thank you for the great video. I was wondering if you have noticed why some bulbs are larger than others (besides good soil and water) would planting bigger bulbs results in more big bulbs like garlic?
With multiplier potato onions, planting a big one results in numerous smaller ones, whereas planting a small one results in a larger bulb. I wonder if it might be the same with these.
Thanks for sharing your gardening journey! ❤ I've been following you for a couple of years now. This year I had a great chaotic spring garden with four raised beds. Excited to try these next.
Angela, I would like to try that type of onion this fall but I'm not seeing them at my regular sources. I live in Awatukee. What would you suggest? Thanks.....Dennis
Thanks for the heads up. I updated the links. Here's my amazon store: www.amazon.com/shop/growinginthegarden and shop: growinginthegarden.bigcartel.com/products
Hello Angela. May I ask you please. If I will get onion now when do I have to plant it. If I will wait for the next season I may lose it. Btw called company for the question they are not easy to communicate with. Thanks in advance.
Hi Angela. I’ve been trying to find l’itoi onions everywhere and no one seems to have any available. Would u happen to have some to share. I live in the high desert area 8b and our dry hot summers has similar Mesa weather. Pls let me know. I will pay u for them. Thx
I’m in N Phoenix, is there anywhere here that sells them? I’m having a hard time finding them. Would you consider selling some of yours? 😊 Native Seeds doesn’t have any now.
I found some!!! I don’t know if you ever make it up north be we have a great nursery up here by the name of Summer Winds and…they have l’itoi onions!!! They are on Tatum just north of Bell road. Great place if you are up in the PV area! Have a great day!
If you’re in mesa you might be in a warm enough climate to grow myr or whatever. The three wisemen gave Jesus gold, and myr or however you spell it. I remember reading a guy in phoenix owns and imported all the species before the federal government and UN imposed tons of laws that prevent trade of seeds. So this guy has every endangered and non endangered species but I think cause it’s from Yemen and Africa that only a few parts of Arizona have a similar climate.
Could i buy some bulbs from you?
Beginning in July I'm selling my harvest at Arizona Worm Farm in Phoenix and all proceeds will go to St. Vincent de Paul and Project Roots.
@@GrowingInTheGarden do you ship to Oregon?

Per your suggestion, I grew I'itoi onions this year, and despite ideal conditions, they grew beautifully. Thank you for the suggestion.
Wonderful!

I bought some last year, and was pretty much clueless as to how to grow, and what to do with them. Excellent video.
Where did you buy the bulbs?
Glad it was helpful!
It is quite similar to potatoes onions 🌰
Thank you for sharing. I am really interested in these onions. I am now on the lookout! 😊

I'm sure that is the case, yes. More energy = larger bulbs

Im in NC (zone 7b/8a), can I plant these in late April or early May? Or should I wait to plant these in the early fall?
You could plant now and they will probably grow well for you all summer.
@@GrowingInTheGarden thank you! When they arrive this weekend, i will put them in the ground immediately!
