This design is very cute. I really appreciate you taking the time to educate us on the correct terms when referring to cuticles and nail shapes. I enjoyed your video 🙂💅
The Pink Chair carries the Kiara Sky undernail bit which is very similar to your toothpick bit:). Kiara Sky also has some cone bits with flat heads. Hope this helps!
Different nail shapes can definitely get confusing and I thought I had them all down, but I learned something new in this video today! I had no idea there was a difference between squoval and rounded square. I assumed a squoval has to still have a fairly flat tip or it would become just an oval. So I thought rounding the edges of the square makes it a squoval. But now I gotta go look up a side by side pic between squoval and rounded square so I get it. Thanks for sharing!! Love your vids.
Actually, Jen, you are quite wrong about cutting the living tissue when performing russian manicure :) Yes, some nail technicians can cut off the living tissue when they are not careful enough or lack understanding of the technique. However, the technique itself is built on removing the dead tissue only. Once you get a hang of it and gain some experience, you'll be able to differentiate dead tissue from actual living tissue, that shouldn't be touched, really easily. It just takes practice with this technique :) Oh, and a great instructor, who teaches you a correct hand position and all the specifics, as well as lots of small, but super important details. And, by the way, just a small tip for you: if the instructor starts showing you the technique by taking a ball drill bit and running it over the cuticles and nail plate around cuticle area, RUN from that instuctor, girl! The ball bit should never ever touch the nail plate, as it files through the nail layers pretty easily, especially when used with pressure.
loving the design, I never do animal print but this is inspiring me 😍
Thank you

When I do squoval I angle the hand file under the free edge so it slightly rounds the free edge and corners. Hopefully that makes sense
@@NailsByJenReginaSK That actually does make sense! Thanks for the tip :)
U bet!
