It should be noted that you can remove dirt from greens more thoroughly if you set the colander in the outer cup-thing, cover the greens with water, swish the greens around, then remove the colander, dump the water, then spin. Submerging the greens lets dirt drop to the bottom. If you just rinse the greens under running water, you are likely to miss some of the dirt. (This is especially important with sandy greens like leeks.)
Good to know! I have a few recipes I like that use leeks.
Leeks grow in the sand!? I’ve never used one. I always thought they looked like a massive green onion!
@@Gundumb_guy Well, if you don’t rinse them well after chopping, you’ll definitely know about the sand when you eat them!
It’s best to cut the leeks apart and then rinse since the sand hangs out in the tight areas.

My grandma had a salad spinner when I was young, that was 50 years ago. The concept hasn't changed at all.

I have a oxy salad spinner I really like. It does take more room though. When I get home from the store I get it out and wash up all my produce so it’s ready to eat. I let the bowl fill with water, swirl it around. Dump the water then spin dry. I buy a lot of produce so it gets lots of use.
I would recommend including a comparison with products like the Snappy to standard items. In this case regular salad tongs.
An item may work, but if it doesn’t work well enough to justify additional costs over what you have now, then it isn’t worthwhile.
And it will extend your video time without much effort.
RIGHT, USUALLY, BUT SALAD TONGS WON'T WORK AS GOOD FOR NOODLES LIKE THE VENUS FLY TRAP DOES. I LAUGHED AT IT AT FIRST, BUT IT HAD THE LAST LAUGH.

The Venus Fly Trap salad server may possibly be really good for bagging leaves.
Way overpriced piece of plastic.Hands do the same.
use 2 rakes, remove the handle from one of them and hold it in your off hand, works in the same manner

I didn’t know they made small salad spinners like that. Definitely replacing my huge, space-hogging one! The snap thingy would be great for mixing in dressings. Great video! Thank you!
Bentgo products are awesome and really well made. We bought our granddaughter a kids bento when she started preschool. She’s almost done with kindergarten and her Bentgo Kids lunchbox is still going strong. She loves it.

I have the bowl and really like it. I like keeping my salad stuff separate until I am ready to eat and this does that while limiting the amount of containers I take to work.

We have a salad spinner I got eons ago, although mine is much larger than the one you show. I used to have so much fun getting that thing going as fast as I could until one time, I got it going so fast the plastic knob on top broke off. I still use it, but need to use a towel on what is left of the knob.
Its always surprising when things do exactly as advertised. Good on them.

I tend to buy my salads prepacked these days, same as stir fry veg. So don’t need the spinner. I have had an old one in the back of my cupboard for years - they haven’t changed much.
The grabber looks great but ….
The salad box is a bit of a let down- couldn’t be bothered making that up in a morning for work - too fussy and really, it’s just a bowl with a lid …..

We have a salad spinner which we use mostly in the summer for berries. I think I might get that snappy thing for ramen!
The clamshell thing seemed pretty stupid at first, but after watching the video, it looks like a great idea. Basically a sort of wide-mouth tong. I wonder if they make a metal core version with a silicone coating. They would be great for cooking if they could handle heat.
As to the salad lunch kit, I've seen a bunch of these and they all seem pretty unitask-y. I prefer just using a single regular bowl big enough for the salad, a normal size fork, and the dressing in a tiny container.
I love my salad spinner, the salad bowl looks nice I think I’d try one if my small metal salad forks in it ti see if it fit in the top for easier eating ! And the salad clam looking item does pick up both salad snd noodles very well it appeared ! So all in all I think all 3 items were winners! Thsnks

My Nonna had a salad spinner that she'd let me play with every Sunday while she was cooking our big family dinner. In hindsight, I've come to realize my Nonna and Pop came up with some great ideas to deal with my ADHD. I miss them EVERY SINGLE DAY!
I have the salad spinner and I love it! I have a large one also but the individual one is my go to choice.
The salad container looks pretty useful
I've been using the salad spinner for years. It also works really well to remove the hulls if you do any sprouting.
Bought the salad spinner and the salad bowl. Like both. Don't need the compartment with the salad bowl that much. Lid doesn't fit without it though.

It's functional and oddly satisfying at the same time.
Important note about the Bentgo salad container - You MUST have the white divider insert in to be able to close the lid. It won't latch without it. I don't know if that matters for people but we found that out trying to put away leftovers.

All of those gadgets look cool. I would use the bentgo for tacos and all the toppings and salsa.

I use the spinner for leeks, for berries when soaking in vinegar water ( keeps the berries fresh for a couple of weeks) and doesn’t bruise them when spinning. Also lettuce. And mushrooms.

I ordered a Snapi for my girlfriend and I before you even finished the review. Great idea!
I did would get the "Snapi" and use it for lots of things in the kitchen.
I bought a bunch of Snapis at an auction about five years ago and never used them. I'd rather use ordinary tongs. They are fun to snap though. If I had kids, I'd let them play with them.

Snappy seems cool but it would take up too much space in my drawer for its limited use I think. I did go and check the salad bowl and noted its microwave safe and BPA free so would be good for hot foods to heat up in that bottom compartment with snacks or toppings in the top portion. The salad spinner is meh, just a salad spinner that I can get cheaper elsewhere - I dont need a slightly smaller one.

I thought the bowl set would be useful, but you cannot secure the lid on without the tray. That made it a waste of money because I don't always use the tray.
With the bento salad server, I originally though the blue paperwork was a reusable ice pack haha.
Why couldn't the upper part that holds the fork contain the blue goo of a cold pack?,

I have that EXACT Bentgo salad container- I got it from Target! I love it, except it doesn’t hold enough dressing for me. I just pack an extra little container (or just bring the bottle with me in my lunchbox).

Bentogo is such an American bastardization of a bento lunch box... All bento boxes are 'to go' and that thing is only good for salad or a giant meal for lunch... it could have come with a divider for the salad compartment for anytime you don't want salad. Maybe some rice and hotdog and egg.
