I should try infernum mode, I only recently played calamity and DoG wasn't to hard, I just had to get used to the attacks since it had been a few years since I played calamity.

Honestly the difficulty spike from polterghast to dog and yharon is soo infuriating to me,it might just be a skill issue, but i am still to patch the progression by either nerfing the ladder or just add a new boss between the two
Providence has always been my personal favorite boss from the mod. She absolutely wrecked my shit on my first playthrough, but the process of gradually learning her attacks and how to most effectively beat was one of the most engaging and enjoyable experiences I’ve had playing terraria, and now she’s always the boss I look forward to the most.
For me it was less learning and more getting unlucky. With the.... light spears? ( idk what theyre called) Always clumping up where i happen to be during that phaze. Yeah, Polterghast became one of my favorites because of that. Void is still garbage though. Especially in multiplayer, but most of the "bullet hell" bosses tend to be kind of shit in multiplayer.
Plaguebringer is my personal favorite. One of my fondest memories was accidentally breaking Queen Bee’s larvae in Vanilla on my very first playthrough. After being destroyed I decided to build a dinky arena, and after a few tries I defeated her! To see a boss which is a visual and technical upgrade to what is one of my favorite Vanilla bosses, along with the well designed gear, attacks, and amazing theme puts it at the top of my list.
Exo Mechs are easily my favorite. I love the unique summoning ritual, the presence of Draedon before and after the fight, and the haunting presence of Ares at the top of your screen.
3:26 I have a soft spot for desert scourge since his music and attacks feel like the beginning of a journey 2:52 I agree there’s not much reason to fight Deus but he’s also one of the scariest fights in the game, very difficult with lots of health 8:32 Yharon is such a fun fight to dodge and I look forward to fighting him every playthrough, even though them removing the phases was a shame he still doesn’t deserve being below Dragonfolly ;-; 9:27 the Exo Mechs is a great fight but annoying to summon most of the time but feels great to kill, good placement id say 9:46 decent fight but kinda annoying doesn’t deserve being so high mmmghh And yeah Calamitas gets first place we kinda all expected that
@@peebobjeff2467When you are fighting yharon or DoG if you die that can may be the boss design bosses are doing unpredictable attacks sometimes but Scal is well designed and getting oneshotted is just a wrong choice of equipment i think, also if you are talking about death or revengeance its a skill isse try infernum and rest will be easy for you
Honestly, I think that d.o.g was so much worse in previous updates despite how much i loved the song and theming of him, but I think now he's actually one of the most challenging and fun bosses in the game, idk though, may just be me. Providence is probably my favorite boss, interesting list overall
I feel like Infernum, a calamity add-on, fixed a lot of the issues here. Though it made a lot of the easier fights a little harder but some a lot more fun and a lot, LOT more challenging
Scal feels more like final boss than Yharim. Because scal itself could easily destroy the player as said in lyrics. And when the player win the battle, she joins his side. When you are listening to the whole theme you realize that this is the fight of millennium, you realize that this is the moment where is the world's fate will be choosed.
Disagree, Yharim is a demigod who subjugated most of the world(I don't even know if this is cannon anymore but the major lore rewrite isn't out yet i think) I feel like the mutant Yharim resprite for april fools does justice to the power of the fight.
In my first playthrough of Calamity I started with my post Moonlord world and character, since all I wanted was *more terraria* but looking back that was a complete mistake. Calamity is a completely different experience to the vanilla game, whereas it was a lot more geared towards the full experience rather than having pre hardmode be just something to prepare for Hardmode with (building a base, getting good at the game). I still remember my first full playthrough of Calamity, the bosses which I deleted at first were actually a lot more fun than I expected and pre-hardmode felt a lot more worth it. So, I fully agree with Leviathan and Slime God placing so high on the list. That's what I like about Calamity, each stage of equipment is like it's own little chapter, every single boss is made to be as difficult and as interesting as the last, rather than it all gradually getting harder and harder. Fighting pre-hardmode bosses with pre-hardmode equipment is barely distinguishable from fighting hardmode bosses with hardmode equipment, Slime God felt like the final boss at the end of a DLC but it was literally just before WoF
I personally dislike fighting Astrum Aureus more than Astrum Deus or Calamitas Clone, even tho his movement it's better than Ravager the attacks and weird speed of the fight makes it more annoying to me. Also I 100% understand why you placed lower DoG, GOD I really hope they change some stuff of his AI and lower his damn damage, currently Yharon it's a way more fun to fight than him currently, also Yharon has best theme don't @ me, also I think Providence should be higher, it's horrible to learn the first time you fight her but it's so rewarding to beat. The Exo Mecs are an awesome concept, I wish it wouldn't be too projectile spamming, but you can dodge most of the attacks by going in diagonal directions, and Supreme Calamitas it's just the best finale for this mod, when I did Death + Master mode I died so much to her but after learning the attacks better when I beat her I was so happy.
The Profaned guardians now use some attacks similar to some of Providence's now, so I believe learning how to dodge Providence's attacks shouldn't be as hard anymore.
Man, I really like Plaguebringer Goliath. The damage is a bit insane with him, but he's still a fun fight to me. The only placements I really disagree with here are Slime God, and kinda Leviathan and Anahita. I always struggle with Slime God, and I never really have a fun time. The slimes feel like they jump towards me a little too fast, and then they teleport in front of me, and I always try to jump and avoid them, only to get smacked by them as they jump themselves for their slam attacks. The core always just feels like a little gnat, hardly noticeable most of the time, but really, really annoying once I do notice it. As for L&A, I just think they're an *alright* boss fight. The concept and execution of said concept is indeed pretty cool, but in terms of the fight itself, it's good, but not spectacular to me. Other than that, a fair ranking.
Yeah I just fought Slime God a few days ago. One of the slimes flew right to me, followed my attempts to avoid it, then just stuck right ontop of me until I died. Literally couldn't do a thing about it. Don't know if that was a glitch or not, but if it's intended that's just bullshit. Definitely hard for a pre-hardmode boss too even disregarding that. Also, why is the Slime God.. Placed before the Queen Slime? I dunno, just seems a bit off to me.
@@ravendogpersonthey’re asking why something called the Slime GOD is weaker than something called the Queen Slime. They’re confused on why it’s there progression wise.
I didn't even need to wait until the end to know which boss would be rank 1. The entire SCal fight is brutal but it never feels unfair, sort of like Minos Prime from ULTRAKILL. It truly is an experience.
I don't think many of these lists factor in multiplayer even though so many people play this with their friends, but the fight is kind of shitty there because the projectiles spawn around the person with aggro instead of around the arena, causing you to get two tapped by projectiles that spawned in your body if you're not glued to the person who has aggro.
Anahita and leviathan is my personal favorite, the overal vibe of the ocean fight along with what you said about it makes it super fun. I remember my first playthrough, anytime I went near the ocean and heard that siren like singing to spawn the boss, I never left without fighting it
Ravager made me feel like i was going insane until something finally clicked and I started actually really appreciating how it forces you to dance with it instead of running away like a chump
Plaguebringer and Providence are definitely my most favorites. They're just so fun to fight. I like Providence at night a lot, especially in multiplayer where the bosses are usually too easy.
I don't really like doing multiplayer that much on calamity, because some of the bosses bug a lot. I don't know for others but leviathan and anahita just breaks for me. You could hit anahita during the first phase of leviathan.
what about the Adult Eidolon Wyrm? it's now officially a boss... well, a superboss lol for me, it'd be around number 5 because I love the theme of a giant abyssal worm trying to remove you from it's natural habitat, and the fact that it's hard even post-SCal and Draedon, but you can summon it as early as pre-mech
By the way for those who dont know, at the plaguebringer jungle, you can use plague cell canisters to make the alchemical flask. This gets rid of the plague debuff so PG doesn't do 300 dmg a hit on death mode
I like Astrum Deus. It's a great challenge to take pre-moonlord. The colour scheme is gorgeous, the spawning animation is amazing, the attacks are unpredictable, and it also does a great job of forcing you to be more aware of the battlefield. There's much room to improvement, tho, but it's not nearly as good as the big guys.
To be honest, the introduction of providence with its visuals and the unique song just makes the players know that they have defeated moonlord, thier first god and have now surpassed gods
Scal is just such an insanely awesome fight. The music alone makes it amazing, but its such a well orchestrated dance of dodging that makes you feel like a god when you learn the fight. DM Dokoru's soundtrack makes calamity one of the best mods to any game ive ever played.
honestly the mechs was by far one of the most W updates calamity has released, i remember not playing calamity for a while and coming back to it without knowing. by far one of the most fun boss fights in the whole of terraria
I agree if your solo if your with more then one person it becomes hella buggy and obvious that it wasn't made for multiplayer -- if you or your friend is a ranger, they can go far away from the battle and snipe specifically ares or the twins without them aggroing, and as long as the person they're focused on doesn't die, you can do that most of the fight.
Its just my opinion but, in contrast to a lot of comment sections, it never feels like i die to a bs reason to providence. Sure, its bullet hell-esque most of the time, but it never feels like something that was impossible to avoid. It shows that you just kind of gotta get better if you want to take providence on, overall it feels very rewarding defeating her. Apparently, according to people, her difficulty scales with your gear or your place in progression or smth (im not 100% sure), i feel like thats kind of a good thing to keep you on your toes To be fair you can still shred it when you get far enough... Calamity has so many fun fights, the only one i hate is ravager Edit: despite everything yharon is probably going to always be my favorite boss, especially because of the feeling in phase 2 Sorry if my opinions were against popular belief or smth, honestly opinions are gonna be opinions and it is what it is
5:27 there is a natural polterghast/ void arena in the far low parts of the dungeon. its good for grinding and would probably put polter higher on the list
On my First Calamity play through, Devourer of Gods took me weeks to beat and I beat Exo Mechs and Supreme Calamitas in the same day. Kind of expecting the Final Boss to be more challenging
Great list! The only things i disagree with is aquatic scourge and supreme calamitus, although they are both related to skill. For scal, I feel as if the fight is a bit too rng based. The bullet hell phases have projectiles everywhere in random directions. (even though that’s the point of a bullet hell phase) This makes it hard to improve on the fight, due to it boiling down to pure skill and reaction time. I’m not sure how they could improve this though without completely reworking the phase. What I’m trying to say is I wish the fight was a bit more like empress of light. Very hard at first, but easy once you learned the patterns and fight. As for aquatic scourge, it’s more of a grudge than anything. Me and my friends were playing together, mostly killing bosses easily, until we fought aquatic scourge.we were well past plantera, but we still got dominated. After attempt after attempt, my friend got sick of the boss, and renamed his character to use murasama. And we still lost. He had to go to single player just to kill the boss. I feel like scal shouldn’t go at the top, but I don’t know where I would place her. AS should probably go below DoG but no lower.
I agree with the DoG's placement 100% if you're gonna have a boss that takes 8 years to beat, DON'T GIVE THEM INSTA KILLS! sure Infernum does it too but the had the decency to make the fight fast paced and short.
I honestly think yharon is the most fun Boss in the mod, after I beated him I literally beated him a second time without even opening the treasure bag because I just loved it
old duke is really fun to me. also the music is SOOOOO underrated. dokuro's last song for calamity :( great video tho based ceaseless void and aquatic scourge placements btw
The plaguebringer Goliath is such a difficult boss and I was hardstuck on it for several days, but after I finally won the fight the satisfaction was immeasurable
Honestly pre-malachite nerf I wouldnt have agreed with the PBG take because I believe that 10% OP item drops should have bosses that are a bit difficult than normal but now I agree
It's a bit of a shame that this video was made not too long before the update that overhauled bunch of worldgen, lore, and also a boss. Most bosses are pretty much the same except for the Profaned Gaurdians, though. That makes me curious where you'd place the Profaned Guardians now.
I know that the adult eidolon wyrm is a miniboss, but hell it is executed so well, I know the boss may not be fun to some people but the way it does the way dungeon guardian scares you first time is so good. I remember when I first encountered it and it scared the hell outa me just like the dungeon guardian when I was little. But the piano start of the song being loud scared me and then getting one shot was just crazy to me. But what scared me the most is there was a bug in 1.3 where if I got killed I respawn and chill for a little then it just appears at spawn and kills all my npcs.
@@HumanoidDerpling I have defeated wall of flesh so far, and the dumbest boss I've seen so far is eye of cthulhu. Other than that, all the other bosses are amazing and fun. I don't see much problems yet
I'm distinctively an exo-mechs before SCal guy, so for me, whenever I get to SCal, she feels less amazing and more of a "lets just get this over with" boss. My problem with SCal is that she feels too hard to defeat before exo-mechs and then seems too easy after, and the balancing is a bit weird between the two. I don't know if thats just me though. My favorite boss has got to be Poltergeist though, its one of the only bosses where I'm fine with dying to keep fighting it longer because the music is such a banger and the AI feels fun yet challenging. Continuing with my terraria-weirdness, both times I fought Yharon in revegence without a good arena (just the pit with no platforms), it took me under 5 attempts, yet after I get all the buffs possible at the stage of the game and built a snow arena next to my house, it STILL takes me like 15-20 tries to kill Cryogen.
Tbh plaguebringer is probably my no1. I much better with and greatly prefer the reaction test dodging over bullet hells, and this fight does it so well. Gave a lot of content in the sense that I was very willing to keep trying at the intended progression to eventually get the dub. The fight fits under my definition of challenging but fair moreso than other bosses, while I'd argue being the only seriously challenging bossfight in the mod without bullet hell components
I severely disagree on your plaguebringer goliath take, IMO his fight is well balanced and pretty fun, the fight is pretty chaotic and his attacks are fast but they’re pretty fun to dodge and it feels amazing to predict his dashes, to me it is easily on top 5 best fights.
They reworked the biome blade so you can cheese all worm bosses using the true variant and the Plains and Hallow biome abilities How to: 1. Get true biome blade 2. Get the sword ability from Hallow or Plains 3. (Optional) Get as many defense and healing buffs as possible 3a. (Optional) Eldrich Soul Artifact 4. Stand still while holding left click
All you need for this fight is a: -2 floors arena -Vampire Knives (I'm not kidding) -Asgard's Valor -Any good mobility (preferably the Terraspark boots upgrade) Just dodge his jump with the dash left and right, don't run away, fight like the arena is 50 blocks wide... Do not stop spamming the Knives at the hands, after the hands are broken the next phase is free, if you are low, you can get back lots of HP by wrecking the hell out of these cannons and the walls with the Knives. After the head pops off it's now your main target, you need it gone as soon as possible. After the head is gone this fight is free It's surprising how good the Knives are against him
@@easterntitan8308 Yes, and Ravager has never been a trouble for me. You can outheal him with Vampire Knives as long as you don't choke and have a brain functional enough to dodge the rockets From Revengence upwards SKELETRON is harder than Ravager considering the gear you are expected to have at their respective part in the progression
Being a terraria calamity fan and watching this makes me want to make my own (opinion based) tier list 26. ravager: i find him annoying and boring 25. Plaguebringer goliath: find him a bit too easy, 2nd phase do be a harder but still not hard. 24. Dragonfolly: i find him like too easy, i had to barely even try, even infernum dragonfolly was easy. But his theme is just great. 23. Cryogen: geez he do be spamming projectiles. 22. Desert scourge: with being the 1st calamity boss he too easy and he was way too lil hp. 21. The perforators: he do be hoverin over u when sending out minions and I dont really find him fun. 20. Astrum aureus: man i hate him and his jump atak so much. 19. Hive mind: he ok but he easier than perforators so he bit borin. 18. Slime god: when i struggled, he was annoying, but now that i know all hes moves it just makes him too easy. 17. Profaned guardians: the fact that they are big and deal contact damage and dont even do that on purpose is annoying, either way not a bad fight.
15. Providence: her moonlord-like beam is just annoying but she was satisfying when she died :) 14. Brimestone elemental: very tanky for the specific loot u (most likely) will have is a bit...poopoo. 13. Calamitas clone: music, decent, and the amount of phases, just absurd. 12. Storm weaver: u can quickly make strategy for this, go around big planetoid and just do that over and over. 11. Old duke: his pretty fun but only annoying move is the fact that he dashes where you go, it can be troublesome for people who havent fought him yet. 10. Astrum deus: strategy, have piercing weapon, make long plattform arena, and walla. 9. Aquatic scourge: the music fits the vibe and is quite emersive. 8. Crabulon: music only reason. 7. Ceaseless void: is very cool style and infernum version is just sooo emersive and epik. 6. Polterghast: music is dope, and the fact that he copies himself is alerting.
5. Anahita & leviathan: i struggled but learned and learned, and I found it one of the most fun bosses. 4. Draedon/exo mechs: thanatos, a bullethell worm, ares, a four gunned psycho, artemis & apollo, two goofy robo's that wouldnt stop being almost completely useless, but yes fun fight. 3. Devourer of gods: geez he does so much lag in 2nd phase but he so fun and music is dope as hell. 2. Supreme calamitas: epik music very fun and hard, and the boss where you cant stop murdering her brothers. 1. Yharon: THIS IS MY MESSAGE TO MY MASTERRRR. THIS IS A FIGHT YOU CANNOT WIINNNNNNN. I THINK THAT PAST YOUR GREAT DISASTERS. THEIR VICTORY STIRS BELOW YOUR SKINNNNN.
I started playing calamity recently and the slime god beat out all shit of me. I spent ~100 tries. It alnost made me cry. And besides me struggling with dodging, tge boss kept lagging/telepoetating all over the place which makea it impossible to dodge. AND it also was despawning. It despawned on my first successful try and left me without loot. It was like: -%Bossname% left to fight you some other day -%Bossname% has been defeated -%Bossname% is no longer after you When I killed last piece of gray slime. But anyway, nice mod, never had this kind of experience before.
aquatic scourge and leviathan will always be the best ones for me. just for the fact that you can kill them in pre-hardmode. but i slightly prefer aquatic scourge because of his music. fighting him in pre-hardmode feels like a strategy battle lol (i'm also a sucker for his type of bullet hell lol)
I agree with most of these but i just dont know how you turned old duke into a ~20 minute fight, I'm able to take him down just as fast as any other boss and always have been able to
As a Corruption enjoyer, my opinions of Hive Mind and Perforators are exactly reversed with yours. I went blind into Calamity and after curiously destroying a high hp weird mob Hive Mind jumped into my face with such cool music. Kinda fell in love with the mod at that point. Fighting Perforators just doesn't do it for me because of how overwhelming good it's counterpart was for me.
I truly wish Yharon would get his health halved and just heal up again, that break in the middle of the fight just feels so off That could also be combined into a fake death animation for the first time you get there, you think you won but the true fight is about to start
For me, i will put DoG lower, i didn't enjoy the fight, it was just run and run because he can one shot you and its too big that if i just get close too he end circle me (and the fact you get 20% less flight time) The worst for me are profaned guardians and the old duke, there is bad bosses but those ones makes me rage for how unfair are, profaned guardians it's just bs with the last guardian going sonic speed spewing lot of projectiles (thank god you just need to kill them one time of all the gameplay) and for old duke i like the concept of he can predict your movement but i just can't handle all the "homing" sh*t he throws at you, too many proyectiles, it's practically almost undodgeable
I am happy someone understands me regarding the guardians.. Fortunate for us; new one are at least fair and more interesting. Old ones were just unfair - you couldn't float in space, because spear projectiles would catch you eventually and outmaneuvering last guardian was impossible (maybe I am bad because I mostly don't use rod of discord, but there's nothing more left to "winning" against them. I considered them stronger than Providence).
Haven’t played in a while but yharon will always be my favourite being one of the best balanced fights with epic soundtrack with Scal at a close second for the insane difficulty and rewarding feeling for beating Calamity
2:43 I can tell you’ve never played the ranger or rogue class, because the old reaper and the Fetid Emesis are amazing weapons that do very good damage against bosses like D.o.G and Yharon.
Could someone please elaborate that this ranking is based on Revengeance/Death mode, I got confused on the Guardians and Desert Scourge before I saw Rage and Adrenaline bars on the top.
I think Giant Clam and Great Sand Shark are nice additions, and I don't mind going out of my way a bit to fight them. As for Adult Eidolon Wyrm I don't consider him a proper boss like many people do, but I think it's cool calamity has its own version of the dungeon guardian.
Calamitas clone at 19 is crazy. One of my favorite bosses when I played through calamity the first time. I beat home first try and almost spawned him again bc of how fun it was
Devourer of gods is in my opinion a pretty boring fight. His attacks are pretty boring and there isn’t much to him. The devs focus way to much on his design and not the actual fight itself. I also feel that for the first-end progression boss in calamity mod, they could make him a bit harder and have far more interesting attacks to make the name “Devourer Of Gods” fit better. And I know this doesn’t matter all that much but his lore is very bad. He is basically Yharims executioner and that’s pretty boring for something that is called a “Devourer Of Gods” I think they should make him a main antagonist in calamity mod as an enemy to everyone as his main focus is to obtain more power for himself.
in my opinion, draedon and scal should be replaced, because having 3 entire bosses chasing you around while you dodge attacks such as lasers, while being VERY challenging but fair at the same time, paired with amazing sound design and well thought-through sprites is an easy spot for #1
I just finished a a run through for calamity and thorium and just about all the worm bosses and any multie-fight bosses would lag the crap out of my pc
When I fought Supreme Calamitas for the first time, I was using the Catalyst addon endgame armor. The meteor particles around the armor really lagged my any. I died a lot because of it. Honestly, that's more of a computer thing than a game thing. I have a budget PC right now, but the boss fight wasn't bad at all once I figured out how to fix the problem.
I was sick while recording a lot of this, so if i sound on the verge of death now you know why. Sorry about that, and also this is my first time making an organized video like this so any feedback would be welcome

In my revengeance playthrough I grinder plaguebringer to get the malachite and grew very fond of its rhythm and it’s still my favorite boss and music
Exo mechs is a must to experience solo imo. The fight is much crazier when all 3 of them are targeting just you!
can confirm, died many times to giant lazers
yeah, its so weird in multiplayer
Yeah it has become my favourite fight just after doing them once
I loved the boss fight but my computer didn’t 💀
I've come to agree with this ghostly penguin
Seeing ceaseless void over yharon made me turn racist
Exo Mechs are easily my favorite. I love the unique summoning ritual, the presence of Draedon before and after the fight, and the haunting presence of Ares at the top of your screen.
3:26 I have a soft spot for desert scourge since his music and attacks feel like the beginning of a journey
2:52 I agree there’s not much reason to fight Deus but he’s also one of the scariest fights in the game, very difficult with lots of health
8:32 Yharon is such a fun fight to dodge and I look forward to fighting him every playthrough, even though them removing the phases was a shame he still doesn’t deserve being below Dragonfolly ;-;
9:27 the Exo Mechs is a great fight but annoying to summon most of the time but feels great to kill, good placement id say
9:46 decent fight but kinda annoying doesn’t deserve being so high mmmghh
And yeah Calamitas gets first place we kinda all expected that
I feel like you treat this too much like an official ranking instead of a personally opinion
in my opion,i just kinda hate calamatas since she spams the same attack that one shots you
@@peebobjeff2467When you are fighting yharon or DoG if you die that can may be the boss design bosses are doing unpredictable attacks sometimes but Scal is well designed and getting oneshotted is just a wrong choice of equipment i think, also if you are talking about death or revengeance its a skill isse try infernum and rest will be easy for you
Honestly, I think that d.o.g was so much worse in previous updates despite how much i loved the song and theming of him, but I think now he's actually one of the most challenging and fun bosses in the game, idk though, may just be me. Providence is probably my favorite boss, interesting list overall
Just because anyone can cook doesn’t mean anyone should. This is a travesty.

I feel like Infernum, a calamity add-on, fixed a lot of the issues here. Though it made a lot of the easier fights a little harder but some a lot more fun and a lot, LOT more challenging
(Ranks S. Cal at Number 1)
You're god damn right.
Yharim is main villian in calamity story

Disagree, Yharim is a demigod who subjugated most of the world(I don't even know if this is cannon anymore but the major lore rewrite isn't out yet i think) I feel like the mutant Yharim resprite for april fools does justice to the power of the fight.
@@OnyxVortex. Well, the rewrite is out now. (Sorry I don't really have anything else useful to say)
The Dragonfolly: the most forgettable boss UNTIL you fight them. I will never forget my first time fighting the bumblebirb.
@@venomousslime6797 how about the dibble Lazer you can't doge?
I also really like plague bringer goliath probably in my top 5 for calamity
Yeah I just fought Slime God a few days ago. One of the slimes flew right to me, followed my attempts to avoid it, then just stuck right ontop of me until I died. Literally couldn't do a thing about it. Don't know if that was a glitch or not, but if it's intended that's just bullshit. Definitely hard for a pre-hardmode boss too even disregarding that.
Also, why is the Slime God.. Placed before the Queen Slime? I dunno, just seems a bit off to me.
@@KogasaTatara514 ? queen slime is a vanilla boss
I remember my first playthrough, anytime I went near the ocean and heard that siren like singing to spawn the boss, I never left without fighting it
Ravager made me feel like i was going insane until something finally clicked and I started actually really appreciating how it forces you to dance with it instead of running away like a chump
. . .
Probably because you're not really supposed to run from bosses
Plaguebringer and Providence are definitely my most favorites. They're just so fun to fight.
I like Providence at night a lot, especially in multiplayer where the bosses are usually too easy.
I don't really like doing multiplayer that much on calamity, because some of the bosses bug a lot. I don't know for others but leviathan and anahita just breaks for me. You could hit anahita during the first phase of leviathan.
You forgot to mention how terrible cryogen is
worst designed boss in every way.
this video reminded me how much of banger the calamity ost is. DM dokuro is a legend
I prefer corruption but the perforators make me always pick crimson while playing Calamity
I prefer corruption and like hivemind more....yea its the boss theme. The flute go's hard.
In terms of difficulty but are kinda the same for me.
i use fargo's best of bost worlds
what about the Adult Eidolon Wyrm? it's now officially a boss... well, a superboss lol
for me, it'd be around number 5 because I love the theme of a giant abyssal worm trying to remove you from it's natural habitat, and the fact that it's hard even post-SCal and Draedon, but you can summon it as early as pre-mech
4:24 calamity’s got out way to low, the fight is super fun and the music slaps
Completely agree
Moon Lord isn't a god anymore (if they ever were in Calamity), the lore got rewritten recently
Slime god
Scal is just such an insanely awesome fight. The music alone makes it amazing, but its such a well orchestrated dance of dodging that makes you feel like a god when you learn the fight. DM Dokoru's soundtrack makes calamity one of the best mods to any game ive ever played.
I like how during the perferators it said "grasshopper
(5/5)"
honestly the mechs was by far one of the most W updates calamity has released, i remember not playing calamity for a while and coming back to it without knowing. by far one of the most fun boss fights in the whole of terraria
I agree if your solo
if your with more then one person it becomes hella buggy and obvious that it wasn't made for multiplayer -- if you or your friend is a ranger, they can go far away from the battle and snipe specifically ares or the twins without them aggroing, and as long as the person they're focused on doesn't die, you can do that most of the fight.
Don't forget the "SOMEBODY SCREAM!" part of Plaguebringer Goliath's theme, I just find it so hilarious
Apparently, according to people, her difficulty scales with your gear or your place in progression or smth (im not 100% sure), i feel like thats kind of a good thing to keep you on your toes
To be fair you can still shred it when you get far enough...
Calamity has so many fun fights, the only one i hate is ravager
Edit: despite everything yharon is probably going to always be my favorite boss, especially because of the feeling in phase 2
Sorry if my opinions were against popular belief or smth, honestly opinions are gonna be opinions and it is what it is
Supreme calamitas is so good because of the satisfaction when you beat her and the song and sheer intesity of the fight is just godly
5:27
there is a natural polterghast/ void arena in the far low parts of the dungeon. its good for grinding and would probably put polter higher on the list
The forsaken archive didn't exist at that point of the game
The greatest crime in this video is cutting off Stained, Brutal Calamity before the first section could end.
"Fills your screen with an offensive amount of projectiles"
Me: *laughs in Infernum*
AS should probably go below DoG but no lower.
absolutely no way you lost to aquatic scourge with a murasama lmao what
Sounds like an absolute skill issue

I agree with the DoG's placement 100% if you're gonna have a boss that takes 8 years to beat, DON'T GIVE THEM INSTA KILLS! sure Infernum does it too but the had the decency to make the fight fast paced and short.
I honestly think yharon is the most fun Boss in the mod, after I beated him I literally beated him a second time without even opening the treasure bag because I just loved it

It's a bit of a shame that this video was made not too long before the update that overhauled bunch of worldgen, lore, and also a boss. Most bosses are pretty much the same except for the Profaned Gaurdians, though. That makes me curious where you'd place the Profaned Guardians now.
15: "I'm bad so its bad" brilliant take
Well, different people find different bosses more difficult, and in my experience pbg has never felt very balanced
Pretty fire video I'm not gonna lie.
6:41 "i do wish the brimstone crack was a little bit more developed" excuse me, WHAT? 😂
Thanks for agreeing on The storm weaver is bad, it isn't fun to try over and over again on it like it is on the good bosses

The fight fits under my definition of challenging but fair moreso than other bosses, while I'd argue being the only seriously challenging bossfight in the mod without bullet hell components
sorry but this tier list kinda hurts, i just disagree with like half the placements but its doesnt matter, you have your own opinions

Man I would love the Slime God a lot more if it did not have a nasty habit of despawning mid-fight 50% of the time for some reason.
I severely disagree on your plaguebringer goliath take, IMO his fight is well balanced and pretty fun, the fight is pretty chaotic and his attacks are fast but they’re pretty fun to dodge and it feels amazing to predict his dashes, to me it is easily on top 5 best fights.

I have died to Ravager so many times and just when I had him on the ropes; he ran away. It honest to god boiled my blood.
All you need for this fight is a:
-2 floors arena
-Vampire Knives (I'm not kidding)
-Asgard's Valor
-Any good mobility (preferably the Terraspark boots upgrade)
Just dodge his jump with the dash left and right, don't run away, fight like the arena is 50 blocks wide... Do not stop spamming the Knives at the hands, after the hands are broken the next phase is free, if you are low, you can get back lots of HP by wrecking the hell out of these cannons and the walls with the Knives. After the head pops off it's now your main target, you need it gone as soon as possible. After the head is gone this fight is free
It's surprising how good the Knives are against him

What the fuck kind of criticism is that???
I started playing calamity recently and the slime god beat out all shit of me. I spent ~100 tries. It alnost made me cry. And besides me struggling with dodging, tge boss kept lagging/telepoetating all over the place which makea it impossible to dodge. AND it also was despawning. It despawned on my first successful try and left me without loot. It was like:
-%Bossname% left to fight you some other day
-%Bossname% has been defeated
-%Bossname% is no longer after you
When I killed last piece of gray slime.
But anyway, nice mod, never had this kind of experience before.
aquatic scourge and leviathan will always be the best ones for me. just for the fact that you can kill them in pre-hardmode. but i slightly prefer aquatic scourge because of his music. fighting him in pre-hardmode feels like a strategy battle lol (i'm also a sucker for his type of bullet hell lol)
im pretty sure aquatic scourge doesnt spawn until one mech boss is dead

I agree with most of these but i just dont know how you turned old duke into a ~20 minute fight, I'm able to take him down just as fast as any other boss and always have been able to
As a Corruption enjoyer, my opinions of Hive Mind and Perforators are exactly reversed with yours. I went blind into Calamity and after curiously destroying a high hp weird mob Hive Mind jumped into my face with such cool music. Kinda fell in love with the mod at that point. Fighting Perforators just doesn't do it for me because of how overwhelming good it's counterpart was for me.
7:46 aquatic scourge beats DoG literally just on music imo I love that song sm
-ranks DoG at 11
Understandable, the boss is really clunky, he's right
-aquatic scourge right after
I hate you
I truly wish Yharon would get his health halved and just heal up again, that break in the middle of the fight just feels so off
That could also be combined into a fake death animation for the first time you get there, you think you won but the true fight is about to start
For me, i will put DoG lower, i didn't enjoy the fight, it was just run and run because he can one shot you and its too big that if i just get close too he end circle me (and the fact you get 20% less flight time)
The worst for me are profaned guardians and the old duke, there is bad bosses but those ones makes me rage for how unfair are, profaned guardians it's just bs with the last guardian going sonic speed spewing lot of projectiles (thank god you just need to kill them one time of all the gameplay) and for old duke i like the concept of he can predict your movement but i just can't handle all the "homing" sh*t he throws at you, too many proyectiles, it's practically almost undodgeable
Most people assume all Calamity content is in the context of at least Revengeance mode so it's not really necessary
i instantly liked when he put ravager at the bottom
how do you play mulitplayer without the boss teleporting everywhere ?
That’s probably lag, the stronger your internet the less the boss will bounce around like that (it also helps to turn on frame skip)

Also thanks for this good game/boss design class!

I am actually really pumped for the DOG's next rework
100% agree it's music and lore carries it.
in my opinion, draedon and scal should be replaced, because having 3 entire bosses chasing you around while you dodge attacks such as lasers, while being VERY challenging but fair at the same time, paired with amazing sound design and well thought-through sprites is an easy spot for #1
when i see calamity bosses, and when i compare with moon lord, it makes moon lord like a starter boss
