Nick I am 62 years old, I grew up with the Bee Gees. They started in the 60’s and became successful in late 60’s with the hit Massachusetts They broke up for a short time in the early 70’s and became really successful in late 70’s until Robin and Maurice sadly died by 2012. This song I remember well and particularly this year has made me cry every time I hear it. It was released in 1979 and you are watching the original recording. This year in March I reconnected with a boy who I knew from school We never forged a relationship back in the 70’s as too young but really liked one another. I moved away from the area sadly and we never saw one another again until this year. We reconnected through a fb group from school. When I hear this song, it makes me think of the years we missed, he feels the same but at
Least we are together finally on our 60’s. Fabulous song

The BeeGees really became popular during the 1970's during the disco/dance era. To give you a brief timeline: They did form in 1958, but they were only kids. They had some early hits in the 60's, but rose to fame in the 70's. They also had about a dozen songs that were performed by others that became hits, too. They are a band that is beyond incredible and once in a generation.

They’re brothers and have been singing since they were little, it’s in their DNA I think. Please look at their catalog of songs since early 60’s through the 2000’s. They are magnificent and they’ve written songs for other artists as well. Their little brother Andy was a great artist as well but lost to soon just like Maurice and Robin. This performance from brothers Gib was a UNICEF children’s charity event, the Bee Gees donated the proceeds to the childrens charity,Bee Gees the only band in history to have written, produced and recorded six consecutive N01 hits in a row, also the guys had the best selling album of all time until Michael Jackson brought out his Thriller album, Jackson mentioned his inspiration for the Thriller album came from the Bee Gees,Bee gees always first and foremost considered themselves songwriters before being vocalists, they have written many songs for famous artists, for example Barbara Streisand, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers,Dionne Warwick,Frankie Valli, Diana Ross,Celine Dion,Olivia Newton John,Tavares,Jimmy Ruffin, also written for films, example film Grease and Saturday night fever, both films starring John Travolta, the guys have a huge catalog of songs over 6 decades, they were also considered to be one of the best songwriters, many other artists have been influenced by the brothers gib, great reaction thanks 🙏, I actually attended a Bee Gees concert in Las Vegas in 1997, they were phenomenal live just pure talent!!

Thank you so much for The Bee Gees reaction!
    A little background:
Love your Bee Gee reactions of the brothers (Barry - the tallest with the beard in the middle , Robin, no beard, & Maurice, the shortest with beard - Gibb) who wrote the words & music to all their songs, as well as songs for other artists. They were also Producers and played instruments on their records!
    They had hits in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s, for a 5 decade career!
You can find videos of them performing on TV as early as 1960 when they were just children.
Barry, the oldest, is the only one still alive today. He's living in Miami with his wife, Linda, of over 53 years!
They also had a younger brother, Andy Gibb, who had a great solo career. He worked closely with his brothers (particularly Barry) in writing, producing, and doing background on many of Andy's songs! Andy also passed.
    ---------------------
I’m not sure if you’ve reacted to any of these, but here’s a list with my interpretation of what genre I think they fall under:
    Too Much Heaven (R&B)
How Deep Is Your Love (R&B Ballard)
    Staying Alive (disco)
    Night Fever (disco)
You Should Be Dancing (R&B or disco)
Fanny be tender with my love (R&B)
    Jive Talking (R&B)
    Nights on Broadway (R&B/Funk)
    Tragedy (Techno? Pop)
    More than a woman (Disco/R&B)
    Love you inside out (Funk/pop)
    To love somebody (R&B)
    Massachusetts (pop/country)
Wind of Change (funk/r&b), live 1975 from the Midnight Special)
    Alone (pop)
    Love So Right (R&B)
    Words (pop, 1979 Spirits Tour)
    Lonely Days (pop)
    You Win Again (pop)
    Run to Me (pop)
How Can you mend a broken heart (R&B)
    Kiss of Life (rock)
    One (pop)
    Wedding Day (pop)
Rest Your Love on Me Awhile (country)
    Bodyguard (R&B)
For Whom the Bell Tolls (pop)
    Blue Island - live (pop)
Our Love, Don't Throw it all away-Bee Gee's or Andy's version (pop)
    Secret Love (pop)
This is Where I Came in (live) (pop)
The 1989 One for all tour medley (excellent vocals & some humor)
If you want to see them (the Bee Gees) and how they work in the studio try:
    (A) the making of their song "Tragedy" from 1979
    (B) The making of the song "Just in Case"
    (C) The making of the video "This is Where I Came in" from their last cd in 2001
Some that only the avid Bee Gee fans might know that you might want to react to:
    My Lover’s Prayer (pop ballard)
    Letting Go (pop ballard)
    Subway (R&B)
    You Stepped Into My
    life (Funk/r&b)
    Children of the World (pop)
    Search, Find (pop or R&B)
Songs written by Barry Gibb (that other artists sung) -- alone or with his brothers (Robin & Maurice Gibb):
If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman)
Woman in Love ( Barbra Streisand). In fact, The Bee Gees wrote every song on her Guilty CD, and Barry did 2 duets with her. And he did most of the background vocals on a lot of the songs.
Islands in the Stream (Kenny Rogers & Dolly Partons). In fact, The Bee Gees wrote all the songs on Kenny's "Eyes that See in the Dark" CD with Barry doing a lot of background vocals.
Heartbreaker (Deion Warwick). In fact, The Bee Gees wrote every song on this CD too. The Bee Gees also did the Background vocals.
Chain Reaction (Diana Ross) and yes, The Bee Gees wrote all the songs on this CD too. Barry also did the background vocals.
Immortality (Celine Dion) The Bee Gees also sung background. The live 1997 from Vegas is excellent!
    More Than a Woman (Tavares)
    Love Me (Yvonne Elliman)
Come on Over (Olivia Newton John)
Emotions (Samantha Sang, with a lot of background vocals with Barry). Destiny's Child also recorded it.
    Grease--from the movie (Frankie Valli)
Heart Beating in Time (Leo Sayer)
Let me wake up in your arms (Lulu), who use to be married to Maurice Gibb
A lot of Andy Gibb songs (Shadow Dancing, Everlasting Love, Love is Thicker than Water, Our Love, Don't Throw It Away; Desire;)

When singers harmonize the goal is to just hit their assigned notes together to form chords. Almost no one pays attention to their vibratos being in synchronization. The Bee Gee's vibratos are perfectly in phase, giving them that angelic tone. Sibblings do this, like the Everly Bros harmonies. ☺✌💛, PJ

The Bee Gees are 3 brothers, Barry {the oldest in the middle) and Maurice & Robin (the twins) either side. They also had another brother, Andy, a singer who died at an early age. They were born on the Isle of Man (a protectorate of the UK) and then moved to Manchester in the UK. Later on they emigrated to Australia before returning to the UK. They then went to the USA. The have loads of fantastic songs over many genres and decades and also wrote songs for other famous singers like Barbara Streisand and Dolly Parton/Kenny Rogers. Barry is the only one left now.

So wonderful to see the younger generations even give a listen to what my generation fell in love with so long ago. The Bee Gees were just super gifted singers and song writers. If you do any research on them their song writing ability reached many other great artists of the day. Have loved their music from the beginning. Just a suggestion, if you are interested in the older music, try giving Benny Merdones "Into the Night" a listen. It was kind of a one hit wonder but his vocals were incredible. Thanks for the memories, glad you enjoyed. ✌🏼

This group is so amazing. Over 1000 songs in their catalogue. This song they gave away the proceeds to UNICEF. So far they have raised over 10 million dollars to help kids. Try Fanny be Tender with my love. Great vocal range.

They started in the late 50 but were mainly 60’s and especially the 70’s. They wrote for other artists also.

In 1997 The Bee Gees did a concert shown world wide on tv in Las Vegas and it was fabulous! You really should watch that because they covered many, many songs. All the Hollywood and Music stars were there to see them for sure. It is about 1 1/2 - 2 hrs. long but worth every minute of it. Maybe not to show on your channel because of the length, but for you personally! You won’t be disappointed! Gail

I am a BABY BOOMER and love to watch you young people discover and listen to the music we grew up with in the 60's, 70's. We were very fortunate and did not know it. You should check out The Carpenters's, with their song, SUPER STAR. Karen has the effect of melting your heart with her honey-covered voice. She died at age 32 from anorexia nervosa, which was a real loss to the music world. Just found and subscribed to your channel. We can direct you to some wonderful music, if you'll listen to us "old guys."

They actually started in the 60's as young kids, single digits.

For a sample of their lower range, try 'Nights On Broadway', also the first song they used their high falsettos in, during the middle break. And for another sky-high falsetto tune, try 'Alone', an upbeat, sort'a Beach Boys-ish sound. Maurice hits notes in it that sound more like a flute than a human, singing '...just the beat of a lonely heart'...🔥
