I actually had to stop watching that drama because my second male lead syndrome was so bad😭 I looked at so many spoilers, and even though I hadn't seen the scenes yet, it hurt so bad. The second male lead knew that no matter what he did, the female lead would never look at him and be the happiest with him. I think he was in an unrequited love with her for 10 years :

Not to sound bitter but like I absolutely get frustrated when writers make female leads end up with the jerk male leads just because: a. They have history with the girl b. the girl pities the jerk and then comes to “understand” him and falls for him. I’m just like ??? That’s no excuse for being a d*ck to the girl or others. I don’t know it’s just alarming how abusive male leads get the girl. Like in meteor garden the guy literally threw shancai’s food on her just because he got mad. I couldn’t get past the second episode because I knew how it would end and I wasn’t about that ugly relationship On another note: If the male lead is genuinely sweet towards the girl and treats her well then I’m ok with the second lead not getting the girl. (Like in Strong Woman or Sweet Revenge)
I really wanna fight with the makers of school 2015, cheese in the trap and reply 1994( I really didn't ship trash with na Jung.. she had way more chemistry with chilbong).. also even though I ship shancai and ming in meteor garden,, I still feel really bad for Lei ( I don't mean to offend anyone this is just my opinion) ugghhh damn this cursed second male lead syndrome....
