This was great, no wasted time, everything prepped, organized and clear instructions. This is by far one of the best videos I have seen. Thank-you so very much.
It's always amazing to me how creative people are it's endless what you can do with everyday things then you would normally just toss in the trash. There's so many talented people in this world. It's people like this that makes the world a beautiful place.
I wanted to make a journal to store my Ruby Wedding cards in and watched this video. I promptly went off to use the technique to make a cover but added some appliques as I wanted some heart shapes on the top and hand embroidered the appliques on. This was the best demonstration I have seen to date on binding pages into a book and I won't look back now. I even posted the video in my community craft facebook group that I run here in the UK and now they all want to have a go so that's a project on the list for our next year. Thank you for sharing.
I love your videos and have learned so much from you. I'm new to journaling and so glad I found your videos. I have no immunine system as I'm a transplant patient and have to be isolated from folks. Spending all my time at home can be a real drag so I was excited to find your videos. I got out my old rubber stamps, haven't used them in years. I was happy to find I had many supplies I can use. Thank you so much for sharing your world with us.
You know, I make most of my soft cover journals just by sewing fabric directly onto the box, but I will try this! And I love the window! Finally, I LOVE the patchwork closure. I have tons of scraps, so I'll GIT TO WORK!
I have been watching so many videos on this and was so confused. You made it so clear. You are a great teacher. Thank you so much. I have made the cover and have the signatures now I can sew them. xxx
Helpful and easy on the ears too! So many youtube people nowadays speak with consistent upturned sentence endings that it is irritating, as if every sentence is a question, but in an explanation, with declarative sentences, you make confident, clear statements, easy to hear and understand, kind voice and matter -of-fact, a maturity in communication which carries over to the product. Some try to be too silly, veering off task into mindless chatter for entertainment, but your explanations are intelligent and reasonable, staying on task. Others shake their hands like jazz hands which is dizzying. You are calm. I stayed with your video with interest even though I’ve seen the instructions other places. Yours is well paced. I plan to make for gifts. 🎁 Best wishes for you in your channel and look forward to more of your ideas.🍀🍂👍🍁
Thank you so much for this video. I had all the supplies for months, but i have something that i like to call 'art fear'. I've watched tons of tutorials, but was just afraid to start. Your video made me actually do it!! I wish I could share pictures here. It's absolutely not perfect, but I'm so proud of myself! I made a book! I think this is the first craft that I made that I don't absolutely hate and actually want to show it to my friends 😁
I really enjoyed this video. I have never made a junk journal before, but they look fun. You would never know this started from a spaghetti box. Very cool. I love the patchwork style. Your instructions on how to sew the signatures in the binding was so clear that if I ever do make one I will refer to this video.
I have really enjoyed watching you make this. Im very keen to start. I really enjoyed your smooth, calm voice over and was not tempted to mute zand just watch as i have often done with many other demonstrations/tutorials. Thank you.
So... It was driving me crazy! Your voice and the phrase "hello crafty cuties" sounded so familiar I couldn't stand it. It has taken me an hour to figure it out. I don't want to say it out loud, but I am so glad that I found you again!!! I have missed watching your videos! Thank you for all that you do!
Remarkable !!!! LOVE all your steps, much more detailed than i have seen before which i think will work much better to keep everything in place. Thank you for sharing your techniques with us. Wonderful looking book for self, or as a gift.
Jessica, if you only knew the struggle I have throwing cereal, pasta, packaging boxes away!!! 😫 I had a huge "collection" of empty boxes I was saving because they all looked like a perfect journal to me!!! I absolutely LOVE this video!!! Thank you for filming this from start to finish. I love the patchwork look and the patchwork closure is very clever! I'm definitely going to try to create one just like the one you did. Tfs!!! Have a great Sunday! 😊💗
Your edited video was only 28 minutes. I don’t DO paper work and I was captivated and it encouraged me to do something, gave me some ideas for my daughters birthday. Thanks so much.
I really like this journal. Love the way you patch worked the fabric even down to the colors. You explained everything until I believe that maybe I can do this too. Thank you so much sharing!!

Very cute journal, love the fabric stitched cover and little window! Aesthetically, I really prefer the hidden or interior binding as you’ve done. It’s not more difficult, just the extra step of gluing it inside the cover.
I am making my first journal and had run into major brain blockage about what kind of cover to make. I've been collecting pasta boxes, milkbone boxes, cereal boxes but really had no clue how to use them for my cover. Now I know!! Thank you so much for this really timely video! You saved my sanity!
