They're going to try and pull a Games for Windows Live, just watch. Reject it at all costs!
Its not even close to over. Those countries are still delisted
So? There are no customers in those countries.
@@fcukugimmeausername are you mad??
Playstation PC launcher coming soon....in 73 countries!
Lmao Nintendo and Xbox arent all over the globe either but ya aint bitching about them are you. Hypocrites
It’s NOT over! We need those countries back that have been black listed from being able to buy the game! It’s about 200!!! We need to keep fighting for democracy! Also they made GOT unavailable in those countries too, even though the single player doesn’t even require PSN!!
Nah man, it's over. Unsurprisingly the type of groupminded NPC to get angry over this stuff is groupminded enough to move on to the next thing as soon as the outrage gets old.
Now all Sony needs to do is wait a bit until the internet, which has the memory of a goldfish, forgets about this, then they can quietly enforce the PSN requirement again and no one will care because it's old news.
Been there done that, this has been Sony's playbook every time. Remember back when they were going to shut down the Demon's Souls servers on PS3 and the entire internet got up in arms about it and did a bunch of hashtags, and they canceled the shutdown, only to shut it down a few months later when no one cared anymore? They're playing with you.
Sadly Steel is right. Even though they didn't force PSN on us, they still delisted the game from 180 regions. They will try to enforce the PSN again in a few months most likely. I'm willing to bet that in the near future we will have a PS app forced on us, as well as PS+ to play those games online. We didn't win, we only postponed their plans a little. People got too happy when Sony made a tweet and celebrated as we won, when in fact all Sony did was damage control and got the masses to roll over for them.
Thank God piracy (sharing of games by gamers) is allowed in our country similar to renting. We play PS4 and PS5 games for free here. Some sellers charge under $1 for PS games. Ditto for Nintendo Switch games. Greedy companies like these deserve piracy.
Greetings from the only country in Africa with PSN access 🇿🇦 😢
They haven't allowed the excluded countries back into Helldivers 2. If they don't I'm saying right now that means they will force the PSN account issue again later. Why else wouldn't you allow more people to buy and play your game?
We shall not rest until Bouvet Island - an uninhabited protected nature reserve - can play HD2. Also at the beginning of launch it was a requirement to link PSN to steam. Then due to all the launch issues, AH disabled that requirement.
The high seas have no PSN requirements
Was looking forward to playing Ghost of Tsushima but Sony region locked it for 180 countries (including mine). "Play Has No Limits" is their slogan right? No limits my ass! (sorry for the bad language)
Play had no limits. Until the internet got their undies in a bunch because they didn't read the steam page. Now Sony has made future events crystal clear and as a result inconvenienced people like you.
Kind of like a monkey's paw. Sony was fine to look the other way and allow people to make PSN accounts in nations they don't actually live in. Then after all the yelling they got the PSN requirement removed from HD2 and in return Sony no longer wishes to look the other way to avoid another PR nightmare.
You are on PC. Pirate it. If Sony doesn't want your money by not offering a store in your country, sail away. The high seas have no PSN requirements
The fact they tried to implement this months after the game was initially being sold is terrible.
Actually it was required at launch. Then Arrow Head removed the requirement due to server issues and failed to communicate it. When Sony demanded they enforce the requirement again. Then people started complaining.
If only they read the steam page that clearly spelt out the need for a 3rd party account linking.
@@gothpunkboy89 If it ain't on the summary box, then it might as well not be visible. I didn't even notice when I initially bought the game.
Also, I am not making a new PSN account for a game. If that was a hard requirement from the start, I would have refunded. The game working just fine without a PSN account proves how unnecessary it actually is.
@@Ozzianman I guess this explains why so many people seem suddenly surprised when they learn a game has an anti cheat. They just don't bother to actually read the information given.
PSN was to allow Sony to act as moderators to remove the toxic sewage goblins that infest online games. Now Arrow Head will need to divert resources to handle it. Which given they still haven't fix issues from day 1 like being able to accept or even block people on the in game system. As well as tracking on stratagems still being broken (spear, precision strike, etc) they needed all the resources they could put into the game.
@@gothpunkboy89it was listed as PSN required but not actually needed. It was also sold in countries that couldn't get PSN accounts. That's at least a very mixed message.
@@gothpunkboy89 Not as simple as "reading a Steam page" that does not constitute as a binding term of sale in any nation's consumer law whatsoever. Sony's EULA at the point of sale also stated PSN account sign-up was optional for their PC games, which they have retrospectively changed after this debacle. By many nation's consumer law, that requires the customer to consent to a new set of terms and conditions, with the option to decline with a full refund. Doing anything else opens the door to class-action lawsuits in nations like Australia, UK, Germany to name just a few who have strong consumer protection standards.
Cross buy for PlayStation would be amazing. I bought Elden Ring twice for both platforms. I guess you are talking about Soiderman which would be nice too
I guess

just dont exist then
At least they have all countries listed in their live services unlike sony
Sony Playstation and Microsoft xbox are having a race to the bottom lol
Ikr 😂😂😂😂
Finally a race Xbox will win
reminds me of Rocket League
as soon as they got involved with Epig Games, I was out
And when the ps launcher ultimately fails they will have to crawl back to steam as always. Sneaky bastards.
8:32 sums it up the whole situation perfectly.
-Overall sony's fault by introducing psn account integration late
-Overreaction by the PC playerbase as a result (Grifters riding the unfortunate situation mixed with players with legitimate complaints and concerns)
-Enforce it day one, if you really needs to
-Best way to do it is to approach in a consumer friendly manner by making the psn account integration optional. Give players incentives to do it (In-game rewards, cross platform ownership & progression etc...)
But Sony introduced it on day 1. Server issues lead to Arrow Head making the call to disable it and Sony allowed them a grace period. What failed to happen was Arrow Head make clear what was happening. So when Sony finally asked them to start enforcing it people acted like it was out of no where.
If only they read the steam page that has clear as day the need for a 3rd party account. Right next to the statement of anti cheat being used.
@@gothpunkboy89So why did Sony sell the game in the 177 countries that can't sign up for a PSN. How you going to defend that then?
@@AJ-xv7oh Because Sony didn't actually give a shit if you lived in the nation you created a PSN for. People create PSN accounts for nations they don't live in all the time.
Then people like you complained about it. Loudly and incessantly so Sony has now cracked down on this. Hence the limitation in what regions HD2 and Ghosts of Tushimia will sell in. All limited to regions you can create a PSN in.
Congrats. You monkey pawed yourself.
You are missing the point. Do I have a Ubisoft account? Yes, but I didn't just open that because I wanted to. I bought AMD PC parts and they gave Ubisoft game codes. Do I have an Epic account? Yes, but they gave me (free of Charge) Prey, Rage 2, The Hunter call of the wild, BioShock remaster, Fallout 3 Game of the year. Sony is giving me nothing and I do not want it. I do not buy Sony games anyway. But I thought about buying Helldivers 2, glad I didn't.
i wonder if the lack of females in helldivers helped
It's only bad when Sony does it.
Because Sony gets hacked every other year. Plus they sold the game for months without it, once they saw the push back they should’ve just let it go. But instead they gaslit people until they had no choice but to back track because the backlash was so heavy. Not to mention them removing the game from countries it was previously sold in.
No, it's bad when every corporation does it.
Funny nowadays when people stand up for themselves and don't want to be exploited, fucked with or deliberately lied to for purposes of manipulation anymore than they already are that some people would prefer them to act like obedient herded sheep.
It's so cool being a volunteer online foot soldier for one of the biggest companies in the world. Absolute next level brain rot.
We found the pony 🤣

all need accounts and are actually worse because they do not allow family sharing and use third party launchers
The mob forced Sony's hand on the issue. They were happy to sell in those countries and still support people who'd registered for PSN in another country even though they weren't supposed to. Now the PC whiners drew attention to their sales practise and they have to keep things above board.
The PC players have no one to blame but themselves. Sony had already said you'll need to sign up to PSN but hadn't enforced it due to server issues. No one was blindsided except those in the countries now unable to buy PS games.
