The concept:
One act, one visual artist, one shared stage.
A creative culmination where unique and custom created works of art visually accompany live performances.
Malte Huck kickstarted his career more than ten years ago. He has since turned into a songwriter with his own ideas, his own influences, his own style. Birthed in early 2022 through a successful debut EP, his project BEACHPEOPLE follows a well thought out audio-visual aesthetic, which differs substantially AnnenMayKantereit’s music, which he helped shape as their bassist. Wonderfully laid-back, the sound shows touches of sunny folk and 60s psychedelia with Huck’s vast experience in the contemporary pop business evident in its highly sophisticated production. His reorientation as a person and musician have seen him discover new horizons, which he can now be found sailing toward with a relaxed smile on his face. Considering all this, we are more than stoked to have him at this year’s REEPERBAHN FESTIVAL COLLIDE. In collaboration with visual artists PPPANIK, woulden & Elastique., he has turned his music into images, along with a very personal cover of Mac Miller’s “Good News”, and has translated his sounds into a liberated feast for the imagination ready to have us revisit the most beautiful moments of the summer once more.
Reeperbahn Festival is the biggest club festival in Europe and the largest European platform for international pop culture and the music industry. Since 2006, for four days each September the Reeperbahn in Hamburg, Germany has become the centre of the international music world and a sustainable interface between artists, the public, industry representatives and society. The Conference programme is aimed at professional visitors from all segments of the music industry from around the world.
The Reeperbahn Festival takes place under the sign of togetherness - racism, sexism, homophobia and exclusion have no place with us.

Vor über zehn Jahren kickstartete Malte Huck seine Karriere und entwickelte sich zwischenzeitig zu einem Songwriter mit eigenen Ideen, eigenen Einflüssen, eigenem Style. Anfang 2022 durch eine gelungene Debüt-EP ins Leben gerufen, folgt sein Projekt BEACHPEOPLE einer durchdachten audiovisuellen Ästhetik, die sich grundlegend von der Musik unterscheidet, die er als Basssist von AnnenMayKantereit mitprägte. Herrlich zurückgelehnt ist dieser Sound, von sonnigem Folk und 60s-Psychedelia angehaucht, aber in seiner produktionstechnischen Raffinesse ebenso Resultat des Werdegangs von Huck im zeitgenössischen Popgeschäft. Die Umorientierung als Mensch und Musiker hat ihm neue Horizonte eröffnet, denen er nun mit einem entspannten Lächeln entgegen segelt. Dass er vor diesem Hintergrund Bock auf unser Format „Collide“ hat, freut uns umso mehr. So hat er in Zusammenarbeit mit den Visual Artists PPPANIK, woulden & Elastique. seine eigene Musik aber auch ein persönliches Cover des Mac-Miller-Songs „Good News“ bebildert und in ein losgelöstes Kopfkino übersetzt, das uns all die schönsten Momente des Sommers vors innere Auge führt.
