    Non Matching block concept Is so rouxvolutionary that We can also use this in CLL & EG2! 😁

  • @Winteg8
    @Winteg8 8 років тому +5

    I've tried using the last technique just for shits a giggles, but never realized it would be useful for that case (when LR edges are both on top). Thanks a lot for the info!
    Also, something I've done before, that works like non-matching centers (useful when something is already built during scramble). For example, if the second block is easier to build with swapped FR BR edges, then after building the whole block, you can do R2 U2 R2 U2 R2, which takes half a second. Just something useful in certain cases.

    • @Kian_Mansour
      @Kian_Mansour 8 років тому +1

      You're welcome! I find that is more useful during first block. You can also put the DR edge at UL, pair it with a corner, and insert an edge to force a square to solve after doing D2 L2 D2

    • @Winteg8
      @Winteg8 8 років тому

      PenguinsDontFly I only do it on first block when I can't find anything else during inspection, which is very rare. Ohh imma try that! Thanks!

      +flapjackpotato Yes, but I usually record 30 fps because of file size. I have a few videos in 60 (4x4 example solves), but even when i record in 60, the videos end up becoming 30 because i use moviemaker and it only supports 30fps exporting. Oh thank you!

    Im just getting into roux. How do you solve so quickly after your first two blocks without taking the time to recognize the pieces. I understand in cfop there's quick methods of recognition but with beginner roux you really have to look around the cube.

    • @Rozo_bozo17
      @Rozo_bozo17 Рік тому

      I find that in cfop the nice place to look for pieces is upper face and roux is right side, people just don't realise that and that's why people think roux is so hard to look ahead or recognise with, since first block is done during inspection and that takes up most of the left side of the cube. I personally as a roux user find cfop's recognition harder since I'm so used to roux

    For the non-matching block, I only take F and B colors into account and reverse the color if it is with an opposite U or D color. So you simply can assume the orange of UFL corner as red. Then it becomes H case with one column same and the other column opposite color.

    let's say you are solving yellow on top green left. once solved first block you notice yellow blue pair are still formed and simple to form second block with. It is not hard to continue to solve with white on bottom for the first block and yellow on bottom for the second and adjust at the end with a simple R2. Do you use this?

    I recently switched to Roux. From ZZ. From CFOP, from Roux, from ZZ, from CFOP, from begginers. (I switch methods a lot.) I average around 30 seconds. Do you think it would be helpful to use non-matching blocks all of the time? I feel like it would be especially helpful if I did it from the start. I feel like I would be able to get good at recognition if I practiced a lot. what do you recommend?

      Kian Mansour Why did you put it in the video if you don't think anyone should use it?

    • @Kian_Mansour
      @Kian_Mansour 7 років тому

      Joel Demars I didn't say nobody should use it, I just don't think it's practical for most cubers. It can also be a waste of time and effort because it takes a long time to master it. You're lookahead will basically progress at half the speed because you have double the pieces to look at, and CMLL recognition will be deadly. Once you're advanced enough that you can see that far in inspection, then it becomes easier.
