I love these lists, at least in part for how they make me aware of players I have never even heard of. Lifelong baseball fan here, but I had never heard of Billy Pierce, and the man had 1,999 strikeouts.
Kershaw and Greinke should join the list soon. After that Cole is nearly 1000 K's back and then there's nobody else. This list is going be stagnant for a LOOOONG time pretty soon.
Unlikely? Yes, and very. Impossible? No. Unlikely because of how the game has changed; how relievers are brought in earlier and starters' arms preserved. If any of the top guys on this list were to start their careers over again today (including Ryan himself), I doubt that any of them would top 4,000 strikeouts, simply due to how the game has changed. Witness for example Verlander at 3342 and nearly done with his career. But impossible? Heck...nothing's impossible. The game could always change again. It probably won't, but it's not literally impossible.

My grandpa knew him. I have 3 signed baseballs. One team ball and 2 single signed to my dad and his brother.
I feel like this starts in 1925 just to screw Walter Johnson over.
Dizzy, Lefty, Bobo, Bump, and Early all liked this video.
