- ENGINE Update AND Finishing The INTERIOR!! 1973 Z28 Camaro Build
-This week I give a brief update on the 383 L82 Engine build and fully finish the interior!
Thanks Ryan! It’s looking great, like a brand new 1973 Camaro! I can’t wait to hear and see you fire the engine up and light them up!
Should be able to fire it up soon!
Always love watching your videos. I still have trouble believing that a guy your age actually cares so much about doing it right. Keep it up! Can't wait to see what that engine produces!
Hey Ryan, as with this entire project, your attention to detail is commendable. Almost to the finish line, Cheers!
Thanks Kevin!
Amazing my friend! Thanks for share knowledge! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I have been with you since day one on this project. You have never lost your temper ever. And have been so methodical. I am rooting for you to have the least bit of problems on completion. How you found one with no rust is a miracle especially living in the east.
Impressed Bryan for real. Beautiful work. I may have missed it but what is your background? Really beautiful. Better than new in 1973 I can attest to that. Quality Control was not a priority in 1973.
Really nice work Ryan. Seems you’re taking care to eliminate the little misalignments and other fiddly stuff that will stare at you every time you’re in the car. 👍👍
Wow, your eye for detail amazes me! I can’t wait to see this beautiful car completed ✅ thanks for sharing Ryan.
Awesome work Ryan. Can’t wait to see that engine on the Dyno. Great job on the dash. Glad to see you kept the factory dash pad. The reproduction dash pad from OER is junk. I here NPD has a repop dash pad now too, think I am going to try that when i finally get around to getting mine repainted. Wish I had kept my factory dash. When you replaced the shifter boot. Did you keep or replaces the heavy rubber seal under the carpet? I didn’t see it in the video. It helps keel engine fumes and water out of the car, it also dampens the vibration on the shifter handle. Also glad to see you replaced the blow out clips I mentioned. Wish I was making as much progress on mine as you have made on yours.
Thanks Shad! You will have to let me know how that NPD one looks. I cleaned up that thick piece of rubber and kept it under the boot. I actually forgot about it the first time and had to take everything out again to put it in so maybe this was when I didn’t realize it was missing yet 😬
Ryan, I'm looking forward to your initial engine start and test drive. Looks fantastic so far. Keep up the good work.
The interior is looking fantastic Ryan! Almost showroom new!
Ryan is that the stock steering wheel ? my 70 had the thinner plastic one, that almost looks like what they put in newer Cameros or Vegas's then again I guess it could be stock yours is 3 years newer
Awesome...the Z is coming back to life! Great job, Ryan.
Thanks man!
@@RyanSampsonRPh You bet!
Outstanding job on the Interior Ryan, Looks really good.
Looks awesome Ryan. Great job.
Hey Ryan, bro, I haven't told you yet that you got so lucky finding such a cherry Camaro !! After you get done with it, it's gonna be better than when it rolled off the assembly line. I know you gonna let me drive...... Lol, just kidding, I'd have a better chance of winning the Power Ball. Can't say I'd blame you though. Now when you let someone ride with you, make them take off their shoes and wash their hands before entering. And no eating or drinking, definitely no smoking. Keeping it real for the old classics. Love it bro. So very close, yet so far away. I'm counting down with you bro.
Thanks man! Definitely nothing besides water in it when I’m done 😅. You’re right, these final touches take the longest to do!
Waiting for the engine to get in the car 🙂
Hi Ryan when you buy the Hydraulic lifters please look around for Toyota 4y lifters. It's exactly the same as the small block lifters and it a quarter of the price
That’s awesome, I never knew that! I actually got the whole howard’s cam with roller lifters as a set (luckily), so I should be ok. Good to know that though!
Amazing how precise and steady you do things. That car will be be a heirloom for your family.
It’s been a battle but it’s getting there! Thanks for the compliment and watching 😁!
Wonder how many times you and the mrs have envisioned your first drive down main street?? am sure it will be surreal...great work and great patience with all of the stops/starts...
We talk about it just about everyday, so close!
Hi Ryan. How is the Camaro coming along? It's been 3 weeks and I can't wait to see the progress on it
Hey there! Just uploaded a video, been behind on editing with work 😬. Hope all is well!
Awesome job really like watching you rebuild the Camaro to perfection 💯👍
I can’t wait to see this car put back together and running it’s going to an awesome car! I love it!! ❤️❤️❤️
You better not be driving that car around and not sharing with us!!! LOL
🤣😂 Close..I will catch you guys up with some videos 👌👍
You have to love fruition. Getting closer Ryan. .
We’re gettin there Tom!
The Z looks great Ryan. Smart move having the machine shop handle more. Your engine is the heart of the car and you want it in perfect condition once you drop it in.
Get a piece of leather and wrap the steering wheel would look and feel better
Once the paint starts to wear off I will try it out before I buy a new one 🙂👍
It’s getting real close now Ryan.
Heck yeah!
So what ended up happening to the Datsun?
Still have it, will be getting back to it eventually after this is done in the next few weeks 🙂👌
Great channel and video! May want to get a new wheel on order anyways, though. The wheel is breaking down, so no matter how well you prep for paint, that goo will still come out and then get between the wheel and paint. Couple months you’re likely going to have the paint flaking off because of that.
Thanks Sean! I figured this may happen but we will see how long it lasts until I have to get out the credit card again 😂
Ryan, just amazing work.
well ryan im loving this restore every new episode. id guess the motor when dynoed will be 350-375 hp. your doing a great job. love seeing your wife in there helping. most wives are saying your wasting money. but your preserving history and im a big supporter of that!!
Thanks Larry!
You've got it looking nice.
Thank you Ronald!
Looks great! Well worth the wait.
Nice video, omg its be a nice experience see this proyect and be part of this like audience. Be happy man, u are doing a nice car ;)
Thanks for watching!!
Yeah , is hard to match the seat color because of fading or color changing.
I painted the window edge trim to match car
You’re right, near impossible to have something match. Nice, I bet that looks good!
LQQK’n good.
Thanks man!
What about one of those leather wrap kits for the steering wheel? In like a tan color!
Good idea! I’m not good at that sort of stuff but then again I never tried a steering wheel
Great job on the interior!! Looks amazing. Great job!
Thanks buddy!
Lookin' good!
Thanks Ron 👍👍
Looks awesome!
Thanks Morgan!
@@RyanSampsonRPh your motor took 4 months and my car has been at a buddy's shop for 4 months, trans rebuild, rear dif rebuild, electrically assisted steering install, and Wilwood proportion valve for brakes installed. Still waiting and I hate waiting!
Looks fantastic!!!!!
Thanks man!
Why not use brass freeze plugs?
The machine shop installed them themselves. They will get painted over like the factory did 🙂
@@RyanSampsonRPh I just figured for as much time, consideration, and care that you've shown to this car down to the most tedious of details, you wouldn't use steel plugs and have them rust out on you. Seriously, you've done a fantastic job and it's been enjoyable watching this restoration.
@@junit483 Thanks! I never thought too much of it until you mentioned it. Hopefully they hold up with just the exterior of them painted. We will see I guess 😬
@@junit483 I have had steel soft plugs last over 50 years. The old trick is #2 permatex on the inside of the plugs. It's like tar.
Ryan, great car. But, dude, get to it. Blah, blah, blah, bah, blah. Really, man, just too talky. Every minute detail is just not necessary. Do you need someone to talk to?
