A broker is a person you pay to get you in connection with leasing offices. It's a scam imo. I live in Texas and you can get an apartment no problem without one but it seems to be a big thing in NYC from what I've seen.

so they asked me to deposit one months rent prior to seeing the place (on me for falling for it) to secure it was mine. which is called a good faith deposit. but then when they declined my application they didnt give the money back xx looking into lawyers but idk if it’s worth the moneyyy
