I remember visiting this place as a college student traveling from Delhi on a low budget. The owner had welcomed us with the same warmth. Realizing that we were college students, he went out of the way to give us a generous discount. Very clearly, his passion for serving great food to his guests trumps everything.

Growing up in Amritsar I have personally heard from almost all the street food vendors( themselves) praising Surjit's Chicken. I can bet any day on Surjit's chicken tikka and Kalmi kebab for a challenge to anyone claiming to make the best whatsoever. Having heard him say that his business is not going good is absolutely unbelievable for me, at the same time I'd urge his family members to take up the responsibility and move his legacy forward. Hey Harry I am from Ludhiana but I already had food at there This is One of the best place in Amritsar for fish fry and tandoori chicken. Respect for this man, in this age still he is work like a young person, he is a person who live his life king size.surjeet singh is not only a name but it's a brand in Amritsar.

I usually do my food research before going to any city and last year when I visited Amritsar first night dinner was done with uncleji. Honestly there is another restaurant which claims to sell the best fish in Amritsar but that is not even 50% of what uncleji serve. On top of it he loves to talk and make you feel great about the place and food. Fish, tawa tikka and biryani were awesome.
