@@Susalen In general, the higher the level of play, the better the early game runes get, since it can make or prevent a snowball and players should make less mistakes that would lose their advantage. That’s why in pro play you can frequently see scorch and bone plating being picked. In exchange for the lower scaling late game, you get a better laning phase with manaflow, being able to spam more skills early, helping with you farm and applying pressure on the enemy. And since the mana regen is based on the missing mana, later on, when you have your fully stacked muramana and perhaps also a frozen heart, mana flow band is still useful since it can give you a decent amount of mana sustain, not making you so reliant on blue buff. Finally, in terms of damage, the 250 mana should translate to about 6 ad with the muramana. Since gathering storm works in 10 minutes intervals, a game with up to 29:59 will be still giving 14 ad, which is 8 ad, not even a long sword. In my opinion gathering storm is only really worth if the game is going to last at least 30 minutes, when it will start to give 28 ad. And that’s if you take into account only the late game. With mana flow band your early game is not only better, but as soon as you get your manamune up until 19:59, you will also have more ad than with gathering storm, since at 10 minutes it gives only 5 ad
