That Counter code (counter clockwise) watch is definitely the winner from today, even though all of them looks great. A big jump from the 80s and 90s watches. Thanks Marko for bring these cool and new watches to the spot light 😎
This is why I am such massive fan of this channel. As a experienced collector I have not come across a watch i probably dont know. This channel always introduce me to new watches and brands. These are very interesting watches and something worth looking into.. great review again Marko...many thanks
Very interesting watches. I like the avant-garde, very cool. I’m glad you’re showing different watch brands not just the usual big name brands. Thank you Marko, keep the videos coming.

I got one from the late 1970s or thereabouts. It‘s the sturdiest watch I‘ve ever owned and it makes one hell of a daily beater. When I‘m back home I absolutely have to make sure it gets some wrist-time on a more regular basis. Thanks for having me reminded about that.
Marko, congratulations 👏 once again for introducing new brands that's stunning. Like you mentioned buy all three for different occasions. Thank you very much.

The price to be higher than completely inhouse Swiss Tissot/Certina/Hamilton/Mido? And since it doesn't have the same respect as Swiss or German, I can buy completely in house Seagull for half the price
This actually is all in-house, not part of a huge group making millions of watches per year, so not really comparable to the mentioned brands. At the end of the day you buy what you like.
Vostok's are also in house and hand built, indeed because of the Soviet lacking money the Russians had to in-house everything and you should look at the Slava twin mainspring movement for serious innovation let down by poor materials. Raketa's were nicknamed "Russia's Rolex" and I do believe they poached someone big designwise from Rolex a couple years back showing how well the brand is growing globally, Slava also re-released their iconic "tank" last year I think so lots going on with the Russkies :D
Yep counter clockwise is something I was thinking all the time, why do we count time from left to right. The sun moves from right to left. The muslims do tawaf (circles around House of God Kaaba) right from to left. I mean going with nature not against the nature. Like the concept. Very original watches very beautiful, each element has it's purpose. Only bummer is that this movements have or let's say do not have is the hacking. Would rather see a hand winded movement with hacking as all those automatics. Thanks for bringing this to us. Something fresh new and something that one could actually buy(price).
We read clocks left to right because sun dials were developed in the Northern Hemisphere. Put a stick in the ground and track the sun’s shadow, that’s how it moves. After a couple thousand years they developed clocks and just keep with the trend. Time is a construct and either direction would work; it’s ultimately arbitrary. But why change 3,500 years of cultural momentum? As for Muslims, if anyone argues we should read clocks right to left because that's how they circle the Kaaba and therefore is more “natural”, you might as well argue Mecca to be the new standard of time zones rather than Greenwich Mean Time.
The video was done and published before the whole war situation and also the person running it is my friend who supported me so I show love back, regardless of the political situation. Same as I will always support Konstantin Chaykin and other young russian watchmakers. It's about the passion for watches, not anything else. Especially on my channel.
because of anti-russian campaign and Western propaganda, you will never know the truth. I guess you're from Ukraine ps I wonder if you also didn't buy anything American when the US bombed the entire Middle East and committed a lot of war crimes? sick of your hypocrisy.
And what about The US?! they killed even more people in the whole middle East for nothing and committed a lot of war crimes. I'm sure you had no problems with American products, sick of your hypocrisy. Shame on YOU!
Got myself a Raketa Amphibia recently, the build quality and attention to detail are impressive. So far it’s super punctual as well - only gains like 2 secs a day!
My very first mechanical watch i got (about 15 years ago) was old soviet era Raketa perpetual calendar with brass case and red dial. I immediately fell in love with it. I didn't get it serviced until last summer and now it's like a new. Now i have also old soviet era 24 hour "Antarktida"-model designed for polar explorers. Also a fantastic and lovely watch. Recent purchase was a Raketa "Star wars", octagonal soviet era watch with very personal look. It uses the same caliber as perpetual calendar, 2628. This movement is known as one of the most reliable movements ever and i know it serves long and keeps accurate time. In my opinion, Raketa is highly underrated brand. They make outstanding watches, old soviet ones and newer automatic ones. I only have 3 old ones but i know already that collecting them will not stop there
I just love your videos.. everything about them - visuals, music, voice over and also the topics themselves! Especially the fact that you are trying to see beyond the hype and show brands that deserve more attention.. Thank you Marko!
I absolutely love their vintage Copernic. Got a NOS from 1992 a year ago. Unfortunately it stops when it gets close to electromagnetic fields loke speakers of a laptop. However, the size is just right as a dress watch. So, I wear it nearly every day for going to the office or visit business partners. It is a good conversation starter if someone is into watches. Hope to see less chunky, more refined models coming from Raketa again.
These are all beyond cool! My only gripe is that any mechanical watch costing more than £1000 should feature a hacking function. For that matter, precise time isn't what matters here. Besides, Panerai doesn't give you hacking, and they cost a hell of a lot more. I love the packaging, especially the photos of the people who work in the factory. Thanks for this!
Well it's more common than you think so I don't mind the lack of hacking here although it would be a cherry on top for sure. Price-wise it's a great package and I too love the pictures, I was smiling when I saw them for the first time. 😊
