Can I leave the egg out? Will they be ok with just the olive oil? Thanks in advance! Gracias por tantas buenas recetas!

+BBknits you can definitely leave the egg out. Just try to find the nice consistency in your dough. Typically you can get by without the egg or the oil. The egg adds a little fluffy texture to the fresh cooked arepa and the oil is good for taste and molding so it is not as sticky. I have made them hundreds of times without egg or oil. You could pass on both of you would like.

Thank you very much for your help! I have a child that doesn't eat eggs. I'll use the olive oil :)

It's easier to mix the lumps out with a fork

Malayan salt or sea salt right not regular table salt that has metal and glass shavings in it

Not sure where you get your salt from, but I use coarse sea salt.
