    Can we give some props to the guy in charge of the confetti explosion? It added to the moment perfectly, the guy knew the shot was in time and didn't even hesitate to pull the trigger. It would have been lame if they delayed everything to review it

    You could not script this any better:
    - Shot was clearly on time, no awkward replay
    - Grant Hill pointing out Jenkins literally seconds before he hits the game winner
    - Great call by Nantz
    - Quick trigger on the confetti just adds to the moment

      @@brianf.8996 in that moment, yeah. As a broadcaster you say “for the win!” 99 percent of the time. Being able to have enough self discipline to break the habit of saying “for the win!” and being aware of the stakes is terrific as an announcer. There’s so many times I’ve watched sports and casually talked out loud saying “for the win” I wouldn’t have said that. The stakes were so high and the tension of that moment was unparalleled. It was one of the most dramatic last couple minutes of all the championships so yeah, I will give him credit idgaf

    can we just take a moment to realize archidiacano is a senior and instead of going for the glory in his last year on the team he passed the ball

    • @bobnelly7565
      @bobnelly7565 8 років тому +25

      Well the play that they ran he was supposed to pass it no shoot and also he was guarded while his teammate was open so of course he passed it

    • @dennisj.mclain3118
      @dennisj.mclain3118 4 роки тому +47

      Actually, it was his decision to pass or shoot. The play was specially designed as a multi option play to confuse the defense and open up their chance at an open shot. Sports History is riddled with players making wrong decisions, even when they are guarded. Some get caught in the moment of glory and see its difficulty as adding more drama and amazement to potentially making THE shot. Point is, Arch’s maturity, awareness, unselfishness for the team goal and confidence in his teammate to handle it, knowing he had a better chance, was in full display. This play is so much more than what is seen on the surface. It should be dissected and taught by all high school coaches for years to come. Furthermore, if you want to know how more incredible it is Arch giving up the ball is, look into clutch shots made by Archdiacono, given his resume...especially the game winner against top 5 Syracuse in 2013....honestly, his resume said he should have taken the shot even with a hand in the face. That’s what makes this so great. He didn’t let his ego, or over confidence define him, he let is instincts and it paid off.
