I own a 2007 Nissan Maxima with "CVT" transmission. I bought it brand new from Gwinnet Place Nissan in Duluth, GA in Sept of '07.From day ONE, the car vibrates between 20 and 30 miles per hour. I took it to the dealer when it was brand new and complained about it. They told me it was normal. Then they wrote on the ticket, (to cover their rear ends) "NO trouble found"; even though the mechanic HEARD it and felt it. The mechanic also told me, "All you have to do is to "GUN" the engine until you get past 30 and it will not vibrate, or drive it in manual mode". I have complained off and on ever since; every time I take it in for service. They will do NOTHING about it. I don't gun engines, Never have never will. I am a soft pedal driver, thus I must live with a vibration that shakes the entire car between those speeds. Much research caused me to UNDERSTAND "why" it vibrates. The answer is quite simple. Most CVT systems have belt "slippage" more or less. Thus they get LOW gas mileage normally. In order for them to get around this, they must "advance" the belt ratio (between "low to high") too quickly. This strains the motor and causes the car to vibrate. It is tantamount to starting a car in 4th gear on a standard transmission. THIS is the problem. You can easily PROVE this simply by shifting to "manual" transmission; and the vibration INSTANTLY goes away; UNLESS you advance to a higher gear before the car gets above 30 MPH.Since my car has only 28,000 miles on it (lo it is over 9 years old; AND it is in almost brand new condition), I keep it. Its wholesale value is worthless however.I am told, and I tend to believe it, that the new models are vastly improved in this area. Not sure it's true, but it may be. I hope and pray this is the case for new car buyers. But UNLESS one "guns" the engine from start up (or drives it in manual mode), almost ALL 2007 (and later) Nissan Maxima's do it more or less. I know this because it has been written up repeatedly on "forums" on the internet. Google it and you will see it.For whatever it's worth. I have nothing but disdain for Nissan Motor Company for doing this to its customers. EVEN their CEO would not help me, after I complained directly to him several times. ALL he does is have a person call you, who does not have sense enough to come in out of the rain; and worse, has absolutely NO power to correct the problem. Even worse, they rarely can speak good English. I hate the car with everything in me because of this vibration. But I cant afford another car; so I must live with it.Oh well.
My 2008 1.5dci Qashqai shakes, vibrates. It never used to do that. Mechanics ernt sure what's causing it. But it drives wekl. Vibrations worser when the engine is still running without driving it. I'm not sure if my car has a CVT transmission.
Friend long ago had a motorized bike called a "Tote Goat" that had this clutch system using a wide rubber belt. One thing though, it didn't last long and would break prematurely. He was always ordering new belts all the time. I wonder how dependable the belt is in this Nissan CVT?
Still to hard to get to if you wanted to change the weights and sprigs... at the same time, it doesn't look like the traditional rubber belt like on snowmobile CVT's. It seems like they could incorporate this design that is more "efficient", with what looks like a belt that is similar to a chain onto snowmobiles and 4-wheelers... the diffrence is access, maintance, as well as user wanted modifications!!
I can't find anyone who does not have problems whit the Muranos trans. I'm stock in my 06 Murano. 90k miles and now trans problems. Maybe the valve body, but nobody really knows 😥
The XTronic CVT is brilliant, having driven a 2012 Xtrail with one, it responds far more quickly than the previous generation CVT, which, for its time was brilliant as well. Conventional stepped automatics are horrible in comparison. With CVT technology available, it is hard to believe manufacturers still make them for small and midsize cars.
At 0:50, firing both #2 and #3 cylinders at the same time??? The technical director and the Graphics Artist need to have a chat. haha. Nice video though.

I've own a 2012 Nissan Rogue for 7 years 76, 400 miles, runs smooth as new, no issue with the cvt transmission.
hold your words, it's about to reach its time
I know they are known to fail, but 2009 altima 4 cyl with 126000 puertorican miles
@@vuvu3421 Three more years, and 35,000 + more miles still holding like new with no issues my friend.👍
It would be great if they didn’t fail at 60k
I have CVT in my qashqai 2009 still in very good condition never have issues before i like it and I like all Nissan cars thanks Nissan
Renault Clio X-Tronic aracım ve çok memnunum ❤
Love the Cvt in my Altima
That Belt-pulley transmission type worries me because belts fail faster gear assemblies.
Rayan Hamdan It is easy to maintenance cuz has simple components. Gears has bigger issue cuz if one Gear failed thay have to change whole gearbox.
mohd saeed l
Subaru uses chains in their CVTs.

WOW I did not know that Nissan cars read your mind

desparky the graphics guy will say it's artistic license!
And then the D-step logic was added which totally cancels out the point of adding a CVT in the first place 😂
scooters have this tehnology since a long time ago.
that technology excellent.
Nissan needs to extend the warranty on this vehicles to 10 years because of this pice of shit cvt transmission.
CVT transmission the best transmission
So this is where we went wrong...
굿
Must change oil every 40k
Nissan should merge with Honda, and learn how to make e-CVT
Why won't make something that last? why? Nissan why?
If manufacturers made something last forever ,no one will buy the sucessors products
Good
实际体验效果极差!哨声,打滑,起步慢。我的车是tiida
WOW, amazing!
WORST FUCKING TRANSMISSION EVER PUT INTO A CAR. MY 07 maxima got that shitty ass Cvt and it’s already havin problems at 114k miles
did you do the periodic service?
did you do the periodic service?
@@Aer0nfps yes I change mine transmission fluid every 25-30k miles.
Worst transmission of any car I've ever had, except for a 1976 Ford Pinto. It was garbage too.
Snowmobiles have been doing this for years with clutches...
Clutch is not CVT transmission but every cvt still need clutch.
Nissan cvt is a shit box
Turkey visit
you mean manual transmission
