4:47 This is *VERY* clear to see in SSS, where the phase shift starts when there's no enemies left on the field, but if the last enemy spawns the stupid little dust mites, they'll still be there during the phase shift
I honestly had no idea the wave timing was this cursed until I saw another video a few days ago where Xairathan mentioned this (ua-cam.com/video/ssNTPonQ_Xw/v-deo.html). I just lucked into a setup where the trigger was consistently pushed onto the second Sarkaz caster.
It's wild seeing this video a couple days after Vifer released his PvP grand finale, where Everec (I assume) falls into the same problem of wave 2 not spawning. I also wonder, if those 2-3 hours was what taught Xairathan what the problem is, so she could explain it in the grand finale.
So I actually remembered why this seemed so familiar to me. I had this happen all the way back in Operation Originium Dust, where during one run the wave spawned differently and the boss just got up and started walking off super early. I wonder if that was the same sorta thing?
Basically, boss-linked enemy spawns only spawn if the battle is 'ready' for them. This mostly happens with bosses, but you can see it in certain stages with regular enemies, where the battle's 'phase' doesn't move on and spawn new enemies until all the original enemies are dead; it's the same mechanic. I assume this was left in so that people aren't screwed over for being 'too good' (or too bad/using a stalling strat etc) and getting impossible to deal with enemy spawns.
Enemy spawn conditions have been known to be whack for a while now. Take, for instance, 7-18. After getting Patriot down to 0HP the first time, a bunch of Kevins start spawning. Conditions: 1) Defeat Patriot phase 1 However, there's a known abuse where they don't spawn if you stall one of the mooks and the kill counter doesn't reach 18. So now the spawn conditions look like this: 1) Defeat Patriot phase 1 2) 18 kills But, during my own attempts at the stage, the Kevins spawned anyway, even if one of the mooks was still alive. Reddit was unhelpful at usual so I had to figure this one out myself. Turns out, the spawn conditions are as follows: 1) Defeat Patriot phase 1 one of the following: 2a) 18 kills 2b) Patriot starts moving off the bottom right corner. Or maybe it's a timed thing idk. This annoyed the heck out of me.

Yeah, I was trying for r24 , and MAN was like such a pain to deal with, and then I had that brilliant idea, I should just drop any buff for man and see another risk that is easier
Hypergryph's unnecessary amount of "if loops" is not something I expected to spend 10 minutes learning but holy shit the boys are really standing outside the red box with an entire ass flowchart. Hell, the boys probably need to pause and unpause the game as quickly as Eha when the cannon just so they can make sure they're spawning on the correct conditions.

if you kill patriot phase 1 before he rounds the corner, the enemies wait for everything to die before spawning in the remaining enemies. they don't spawn in when manfred dies, they spawn in when everything is dead or manfred passes a certain point and dies there. assuming its the same sort of trigger as patriot.
There is some mob u need to kill in order next wave enemy coming examples If kill Manfred earlier but some wave 1 mobs u haven't kill will not trigger the second wave enemy
