Whenever he watches himself on screen the 12 year idol veteran Taemin appears. I enjoy how he watches himself seriously and critically without any embarrassment. You can tell he really worked hard this comeback. .
It's a great skill for an artist to have- to be able to evaluate their work without ego or cringe or self-consciousness. He understands the vision, the work reaching for that vision and he can look at where he wants to improve. It's truly amazing

실력도 실력인데 진짜 감각이랑 센스도 쩌는 것 같움 ㅜ 자기가 원하는 방향성이랑 돋보이는 방법을 확실하게 잘 알고 있는 것 같다. 안무나 의상 영상까지 앨범 관련된 모든 프로세스는 전부 태민이가 관여하면서 적극적으로 의견내고 스텝들이랑 함께 디벨롭 하는 것 같은데 결과물이 항상 완벽함ㅠㅠ 욕심도 많고 재능도 있고 머리도 좋고 센스도 있다. 태민이가 중간에 인서트 넣고싶었다고 했던 아이디어도 너무 좋은 것 같음. 뮤비 코멘트 보면 자기가 하고있는 작업에 대한 이해도도 엄청 높은 것 같고. 지금 결과물도 충분히 완성도 높고 훌륭한데 아직도 아쉬운 부분이 있다고 얘기하는 진지한 눈빛보니까 진짜 프로답단 생각만 드네. 절대 팬들 실망 안 시키는 이태민.

I could hear Taemin talk about his creative process all day, this was fascinating to watch! He's really developed the storyline and symbolism so well, it's very cool how much input he had in the editing process. Criminal is one of my favourite MVs of all time!

I think the difference in the reactions is that in the first group, these idols are actors in another person´s production (director, producer, agency) while with Taemin he is the visionary in his own MV. Thus like a painter stepping back and looking at his canvas with objectivity and a critical eye, so does Taemin watching himself in a video. It is not a subjective experience but an objective one at that point.

I found it interesting that he thought it could be seen problematically if it was a different person affecting him and not the metaphoric meaning he really wanted to convey. I like that this is a long commentary video and not just a reaction like most where they just open their mouth in shock etc
I don't think reaction video to his own Mv is interesting to watch, i meant he's shock, screaming etc. We won't get these kinds of reaction from him since he is an artist who have visions, he always evaluating the shot and giving input etc so the commentary is perfect. We get to know his visions, ideas and message he wanted to convey.
i love watching and reading his interviews because of those reasons, i got to know his deep insight
yeah it wouldn't be much of a reaction because he was part of the process of putting the MV together all along. I really like this style, it fits an artist like him 😊

Ugh, after seeing this I feel terribly upset at the poor promoting this absolute MASTERPIECE is receiving by his company. You can see how hard he‘s trying to let the world know how much effort and creative vision he input into this one. It really sucks this isn’t blowing up and getting the visibility and recognition such quality work deserves.

P.s. that's why i remember shindong saying in the sj returns that people may think them as funny as they fans seem them that way on variety shows that even if they are performing, people may see them as just funny. Even id they do it seriously, people will still see them as hilarious, and they don't want it to be just be be seen that way especially that are an artist as well.
