Can mr simm dont come along wherever you drive up genting? He says childish almost bordering on irritating comments. He does not fit well with YS khong driving channel. This is my honest request after watching many videos of ys khong.
Have to admit, this Proton X70's NVH is impressive, nice & quiet. When Uncle Khong drives the Myvi & Bezza up Genting, we could hear the roar of the engine as he's using 2nd & 3rd gear.

I've experienced what Mr.Sim is going through when I sat in my friend's modified Datsun Sunny. I think if Mr.Sim was in my friend's car, he probably would've fainted.
So after seeing uncle testing climb up the genting, the final conclusion is ckd x70 is better than cbu x70 in part of performance and handling? because proton say ckd model suspension setting little bit stiff setup than the cbu model.
Hi uncle.. have you try that car in traffic jam as it use DCT transmission? Is there any delay or gearbox confusing as compare to conventional automatic transmission?
To be fair to the guy, Mr Sim seems to be more normal in his own videos. Believe it or not, he has 36k subscribers. Cut the guy some slack, he was out of his comfort zone (language & speed). In any case, I think Mr Sim will regret the Final Countdown & New Bezza bits eternally. #ForgiveMrSim
We always watch from video that speed was reasonable until one’s really seat beside uncle khong going for the genting run the face will turn pale . I hope 1 day i can experience it haha .
From the video...Power wise I m quite impressed... The was times you can see/feel the speed jump during a gear change or throttle blip...an effect from both 300nm and dct but handling it seems to be understearing quite a bit? Once the car is locked on to a certain apex / terjectory / lines it can no longer be adjusted.
From my observation of the drive, there seem to be a need for recalibration of the gears for the sports button. The vehicle looks heavy and a little clumsy at corners and especially going over humps... Just my point of view . 😅👌
Uncle. I just get my x70 premium about 1 month a go and will go climb gunung jerai tomorrow. Can you give me some tips on what mode should i use. Do you suggest me using sport mode ? I haven't familiar with manual mode yet
I thought the demand for AWD wasn't that great mainly because the top specced trim X70 with all the bells & whistles was only available in FWD. Obviously buyers would also want to have a comfier & better interior like the nappa leather & given the choice between better interior trim & AWD, most would definitely go for the former first.
OH I just realised it doesn't even have a paddle shifter. All that 7 speed dct & you have to use the lever to shift manually? And push forward to upshift & back to downshift when it should be the other way around? 👀
@@YSKhongDriving Yeah I know. I hope someone will be able to test out the longevity of that DCT, especially in low/crawling speed traffic. I still have my reservation for dct regarding this, no matter if it's dry or wet clutch(clutch replacement can be costly too). If comfort/relaxed gear shifting was what they were going for originally, a normal torque converter auto with lockup clutch would have suffice & probably work even better as an urban oriented car in my humble opinion.
Could it be that the AWD variant was in low demand because it wasn't a Premium variant? As far as I recall, it was an Executive variant, a lower variant.
I think the acceleration is quiter maybe because of new gearbox but as for the handling I think you enjoyed more in the CBU version. As for the body roll it may even be equal to the cbu as it is a suv. Also I observed less instance of trc kicking in during the cbu x70 run. I think they prioritises a safer family car for the ckd version. Uncle if got time do the fuel consumption gauge like you did with the axia style. No one messes with axia lol for the fuel consumption part.

Thank you for showing the performance of the X70. Honestly, I'm interest in the comfort, power respond, road traction and safety. Honestly, yr "test" drive mode is not what Proton X70 SUV engineered for. Unable to figure out why you need to drive at such high speed almost all the time?. Showing yr skills, testing a formular SUV or encouraging prospective buyer of X70 to speed?. If I am sharing the road while test driving, I certainly do not welcome you to share the road without considering other road users safety. Most of the driving accidents are caused by human mishandling and not vehicle fault. Life is more worthy than a speedy car that can push to its limits. I hope no one encourage road speeding, it kills life!
You always have a rearview mirror , you could have checked upon your rear sit passenger who almost seemed drowning , could have ask him at least - are you okay , do I need to stop by anywhere to him at least for a courtesy ? But I never see one happened in this .

The gearbox seems tuned to shift up earlier, so it does not rev up as high.

There were some creaking sound when driving on curves. Not sure if its coming from the camera holder or from the cars body.
Not sure, but not from the vehicle. Sometimes things move in the car, especially on hard cornering.
