- The SOG SEAL XR - USA Made
The knife is impressive with no lacking of jimpingto keep it secure in your hand.
The XR locking system couple with the flipper is quick and has an impressive ability to withstand up to 1,500 pounds of force. The belt clip is ambidextrous and very much different from the other SOG folder that I own. Lanyard hole? Maybe. What is on the end of the knife is a, well for the lack of a better word, “nub” that possibly be used to break a window but the hole that possibly could be used for a lanyard below it, runs through the handle and would make it awkward to hold. This will not be getting a lanyard 😢
I have it and love it it's one of my favorite knives.
I bought this knife about 3 months ago and I have sold most of my other folding knives because I do not see that it is possible to even come close to matching the overall build quality and toughness of this SOG Seal XR
Thanks.
Just purchased one but I noticed that on some of the models they have different engravings on the blade. I’ve seen them with a skull and USA made as well. The one I purchased says SOG Seal Xr but on the other side of the blade it is completely blank. Now on their website they have the same one you are reviewing. Any insight on the integrity of these knives even though the engravings are different?
Interesting
But I don’t not have an answer for you other than that I’d take a picture, send it to SOG and ask them directly.
The first Gen has SOG on the presentation side of the blade. The newer second Gen has “ Studies and Observations Group” on the blade. The second Gen also has a cerakoted blade and they’ve supposedly addressed the liner rusting issues from the first Gen.
New sub. Just ordered the second Gen Seal XR folder. What is the SOG fixed blade you feature?
The fixed blade is called the Pillar
@@haveaknifeday Thanks.
Just picked up one online from bass pro shop. And received it today. Mine does not say one the box or on the blade made in USA? Do you think it is made in the US? Thanks
Ok, I actually just got iff the phone with SOG to confirm that they are made in the USA and they are. They did say that if you have concerns to send photos of the blade/box and they’ll check for authenticity. Hope this answers your question. Have A Knife Day.
@@haveaknifeday cool man thanks for looking into it. Great video btw! I’m going to subscribe to your channel. Take care
