I think the relay board should be switching live and not neutral (just like a regular light switch) that way you don't have live always running to each of the lights. A lot less dangerous.

Hey! I think you’re exactly right I am planning on doing that tonight, fortunately I can pop the wires into/out of those wago connectors super quick so should only take about 15 minutes but I totally agree I don’t know why I didn’t think of that in the first place! Thanks for the comment!

Awesome project. I will be looking to automate my game room with an arduino system soon as well. Congrats on the 10k subscriber mark! Keep it growing. Looking forward to more automation projects.

The garage looks like its going to be a great workspace, well done! I would like to try something like this in my garage, my hobby is model railroading and I would like to try and create day night scenarios on a speeded up clock for when the layout is running if that's possible. I know there are manufacturers out there that make bespoke controllers for this but it would be a lot cheaper if it was doable with an Arduino. Congratulations on the 10k subscribers.

Thanks Phil!! I hope it’ll be an awesome space when I get it cleaned up a little better 😁 that should be super possible just need to find a way to tie “running” status into your arduino! Depending on the voltage and what signals it as running or not running you might need some relays but then you can just use the arduino millis() function to check how much time has passed and make a sped up clock based off that! Sounds super fun 😊 goodluck!!

Hi there! Well first thank you for this amazing video!! it’s so informational! I’ve worked with smaller arduino projects before but just got onto it again and was looking to build a clap sensor light in my room
    i just had a few questions 😅
    1. if it’s a single light powered directly through my circuit board (light switch) in my room, would i still need those transmitter boards
    2. i’m only using a single relay switch how would i essentially connect my batteries to that
if you can tell pretty new to this haha, thank you so much for all the info!

Hi thanks for watching!! You definitely would not need the relay board for just one module they make 5 volt relays that can be controlled directly through an arduino and soldered into a basic hobby board or just wired on a breadboard 😊 and question two you probably want to look specifically for a double A battery(or whatever size you’re using) to “flying leads” adapter so you can pop batteries in and out and power the light that way! Hope this helps 😎

Hey man, congrats - well deserved 10k subs!
Looking forward to the 20k 😁
Also, these voice thingies aren't for me because of my accent the system always gets confused🤭

Hahah thanks man!! And this one might actually not give you too much trouble, it learns based on your voice, so the initial setup would be listening for prebuilt commands but the new stuff you’d program in would be your voice sound files!! 😁
