That old style coaching died when 77 Louisville players walked out on Bobby and he got fired...its not youre football and it wasnt my football either(late 60's to early 70's...todays players wont put up with what we did...i do think we turned out tougher mental players though...just different now..
You are right DJ, same here this “ everybody gets a trophy” Mentality is what put us there. Now you have to coach completely differently. All started with the military I believe with that stupid ass timeout card to present to the drill instructor when you’re getting a little bit stressed. Are you kidding me!?! Anyway, we have to handle them differently. I don’t like it you don’t like it most people don’t like it but generation just really really weak.
I remember a morning run where I though I was having a heart attack. One of the smokers fell out before I could and a DI ran up and kicked him square in the ass with that big jump boot and dragged him back into formation. I just keep running and thought... I'll just die running.

Hopefully this is just a small handful of the team that's like this. We need some serious men on this team.
I dont mind seeing the players have team chemistry with a genuine love for the game, so long as it translates to on-field results

It's probably like this every where now not just Arkansas. Their just having fun they are just Big kids. I know i was at that age.
I like it DJ!! Accountability and discipline was the problem last year. No dogs!! No leaders!! Just clowns.
