Story of Maryna and Borodianka Care Center | Project HOPE Ukraine

This is Borodianka psychoneurological care center for men with a geriatric-supported living unit. It is designed for 355 places.
The facility and its residents were under occupation from 26.02 to 13.03 of 2022 until they were evacuated. During the occupation, about 10 employees out of 245 stayed with Ms. Maryna, the Director of the Care Center. Unfortunately, not all of the patients of the Care Center were able to survive the difficult period under occupation and subsequent transportation to other institutions.
Project HOPE renovated the care center after the occupation. The team repaired and painted walls and ceilings; installed lighting and toilets, and renovated bathrooms. Moreover, a modern assisted living unit was opened in this facility.
