It's interesting to see different countries' approaches to safety in these videos. The US seems to have by far the most over-the-top safety that I've seen so far: lifeguards at the start and end of every ride, and strict enforcement about what position you must adopt, even though the slides are mostly pretty tame by international standards.
When I was there, I was about to go down the tube but STOPPED myself and inched my way back up and said to the lifeguard, “I want an Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle” The lifeguard told me, “You'll shoot your eye out, kid.”

No, it has to be a nearly vertical slide to get that feeling, of course you fall in the slide in the beginning but you don't feel that fall much after you continue like you’re on a fast body slide 👍🏻
