I travel with my CX bike, it takes whatever road or offroad lies ahead. And much easier to transport than MTB. I also have noticed that I clean my MTB twice as much as CX bike for the same distance and conditions traveled, amazing.
On my cyclocross/gravelbike I prefer 40mm wide tires (Schwalbe G-One Bite) ... I tested 33mm wide tires (Schwalbe X-One Allround) for racing cyclocross and I don't like at all... Way slower overall, even on tarmac, except on acceleration out of sharp corners or very short and steep little kickers...
Why on earth did you run 33 tires in that terrain? They make cross frames that can take huge tires nowadays. If that meridian can't, find one that can!

Great video.
First time I have seen your content but I like it - interesting informative. 😉
What is the max tire clearance that frame can take? If possible, can you measure distance between chainstays and seatstays. Thanks!
I really like the riding safety glasses! Whats the brand or model of your glasses?
Great video! Now, I would like to see how XC fairs on Belgian mud...

I simply wanted to compare the CX bike to XC bikes, with no modifications.

gravel bike with 2.2 tyres would be faster
