Exactly, and it was the last os from Microsoft that was ideal to use in the first place. Nowadays, if you did not want to use Windows 7 due to it being unsupported you would have to use Linux or Mac at this point since Windows is continuously getting worse.

Windows 7 was the first os and computer that I ever used in my life. I remember using windows 7 in my old school with 1 computer in my class and a big computer room with windows 7. I remember hearing that startup sound that made me happier as a kid.
i'll always love windows 7, its what i used for my first pc and it was perfect. no bloatware (not that i cared at the time) and it ran amazing on low specs. i would definitely use windows 7 if some games were at least still supported

DO NOT download feature updates, they REALLLY slow down the system. 2. Disable aero while gaming/doing graphics intensive stuff, this will allow the GPU to focus on the game/program.
I still use windows 7 with a GTX-1660ti 6gb i7 and 32gb ram plus 1tb ssd and 3tb hdd. I have zero need to switch till the stuff I do on my pc is no longer possible. Mostly every program I’ve came across still supports windows 7

I'm still on Windows 7. Had an Alienware laptop when Windows 7 came out, then moved to a custom-built PC in 2015 with a powerful CPU and a mid-range GPU back then. I am still on that computer, replaced the GPU for a bit more powerful one and yesterday I ordered 32 gigs of ram for the PC, been on 8 gigs for probably close to two decades, but can't remember that far back. Also replaced my old Blu-ray recorder with a new one I am going to install when it arrives, don't use blu-ray for recording any more, but I need to get my discs to read information I put there long ago. I don't really care for most AAA games, but I was playing Cyberpunk 2077 and finished it multiple times on my custom computer running Windows 7. Mostly I prefer indie games, like right now I've been playing Exiled Kingdoms over and over and I had about 3000 hours on Sea Dogs to Each his own. Doesn't matter if Steam is going to stop supporting Windows 7 cause I cancelled Steam a few months back and deleted my close to a 100 games I had on it. Let's see what Windows 12 looks like, maybe I'll switch if Microshaft stops screwing over their base. Of course, very unlikely Microshaft will give up their control over our PCs, tyrants don't give up power on their own.
I first used windows xp on the school computers and it was fun to use. But when my parents bought our laptop, windows 7 was absolutely beautiful. I loved everything about windows 7 and i loved using windows media center nostalgic 😢 and i also played internet checkers
I'm still using Windows 7. My pc has no malware (idr a time i had to thank microshaft for rolling out an update that saved my system from one). It does everything including gaming and does it very well. It is highly stable. It is very customizable. It is not shady. It has no telemetry / official spyware updates installed. I know steam and others are obligated to make people buy newer windows, but when that time comes on 1.1.2024 I will move to Linux. I refuse to feed money to no good organizations especially when something free and powerful like Linux is there.

I daily drive a Dell Inspiron E1505 running 7, and it can do almost everything my newer PCs can (except run games).
Windows 11 IS Windows 10 with a fresh new ui and some new cpu scheduling features for the newer intel chips with e and p cores. Knowing microsoft theyll keep adding nifty features to make people switch so they can get more customers on their increasingly intrusive os. Same thing happened with windows 7 and the windows store which nobody used in the windows 8 era. I had friends who literally did the upgrade just because they wanted to get access to the xbox game pass and thus were forced into signing up for a microsoft account for device login.
You can make some analogies matching to the windows releases of the 2000’s. Windows XP=Windows 10 Windows Vista=Windows 11 Windows 7=Windows 12.x (Hopefully Windows 12 will be as good as Windows 7)
It does seem to run better than 10 on most of my PCs, and I like the look of it more (although I might be biased because I do Apple's UI). It's not as good as 7 or 8.1, but still decent.

First time using Windows 7 at 2011. Finally i end using the OS in 2017, and installed a fresh windows 10 on my PC for good. It was great times working many 3D & graphics projects with win 7.

The best way to use Windows 7 in 2023 is not to install the actual firmware on your PC, but to run it off of a virtual machine on a Windows 10 or 11 PC. In fact I used to do it a lot in high school and Windows 7 ran pretty much as fast as the main Windows 10 os through VMWare. You can also set it up to use WiFi and basically explore the internet free from worries about viruses because a VM is isolated.
I recently worked on fixing an old windows 7 dell for my brother and I was hit with the windows 7 nostalgia, I had forgotten how pretty windows 7 looks and it was actually surprisingly responsive despite the pc only having 4gb of ram and a core 2 duo
Gta 4 has that graphics bug because it doesn't automatically detect video memory. So you have to manually make a txt file for that to fix it. But using a disc version does detect memory strangely.
*Im using Win 7 ultimate and its usable actually!* Some tips Browser: Do not use Internet Explorer, just dont. You can use Edge its pretty fine. Brave its a thing too. Gaming: Like in the video, if you use STEAM just move along, will not work anymore very soon (I play some games but mostly they are emulators so I'm good) If you can use Win 10 its better of course :)

Windows 7 was the first operating system that I officially purchased and used without reinstalling for almost six years. Then I installed Windows 8.1, and with the release of the new version of Windows, I upgraded to Windows 10 - and all this is completely free. My whole school life was connected with Windows 7. It was on this operating system that I created projects, presentations and the first social media accounts.
Windows 7 is still my favorite. I want to use Windows 7, mainly for legacy software that doesn't work on Windows 10 & up. My Printmaster 18.1 was working on Windows 10, but not any more.
Windows 7 had many improvements over Vista. It would not have existed without Vista. Many people like the beautiful aero glass transparency. Windows 7 is now 14 years old meaning it is too old to use as it doesn't have the latest internet and security tools. Chrome, MS Edge and Firefox are ending support for Windows 7. You failed to mention that Vista had tons of compatibility issues with basically any hardware of the time because hardware manufacturers failed to bring out any working drivers while with WIndows 7, they actually had time to do so. It's easy to say that you like Windows Vista in retrospect when you have working drivers and programs.
I still use Windows 7 today. Why? it's fast to install and when The Pirate Bay was still up and running most of the software was made for Windows 7 as well.

Aero aesthetic was windows vista. Actually most of what windows 7 had vista had originally. Besides home group and the taskbar.

You can't use Chrome 109 with or without open core, you can run 102 if you are lucky

Fan fact about the mac mini, you could boot to internet recovery by pressing Command R and Alt/Opt keys
Still works fine at my old PC. Some web pages are scrumbled but you get use to it.

Windows Update is not broken, to York it requieres some manual security updates. Then will work as entendly

The thing about windows 7 is that you can properly still use it today, I mean it isn’t updated by Microsoft but don’t let that stop you!
