CHP should be assigned to PATROLLING instead of sitting idle in front of CalTrans crews. A different state police agency should be assigned to crime, you know, like other states do? Then, instead of paying $250K/year for each CHP officer to sit idle in front of Caltrans crews (A job that could be done with a mobile barrier with flashy lights and cameras) there should be a different agency paid more commensurate to that skill set to accomplish that task.

I remember back in the 70s and 80s going into a Blockbuster video store and noticing the box covers on display... 90% had a picture of the main character in the movie holding a gun. We did this to ourselves, we had such a thirst for movie entertainment that had a large element of gun violence that generationally has evolved into what we see today.
