Heyyyyy lovelies - **Spelling error on screen .. its fate not fete** 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thank you so much for watching - let me know what you think in the comments down below :) and remember - This is a safe space :) to create without judgement :)
Hi Claire. My understanding is that Polyurethane resin is much more sensitive to moisture, dampness, humidity, etc. than even regular resin. I never worked with jesmonite, but a few other resin alternatives always seem to me to "sweat" for a good day or so. If jesmonite does the same, then I think you would have to wait for quite awhile to make sure it is completely dry. It looks super awesome tho and I like the 3-d effect 😎
I absolutely love this Claire. I agree with Tracey that perhaps the heat of the PU resin so soon after the Jesmonite had cured may have pulled out all the residual moisture, but either way it still looks stunning and being a trinket tray it's still completely useable because having a totally flat surface isn't as important as it would be for a tray for holding a cup or dinner plate :)
thank yoooo Mary yes I absolutely knew it - the PU had to be the culprit as this has never happened with just resin and jes before cannot wait to try again xxx
EEEEEE! I *LOVE* neons! Oh, shades of my youth in the 60s! Wild bell bottoms, go-go boots (yesss, I'm that old!), beaded headbands.... 😅 💕😍❤ It's just beautiful in my eyes, bump or no! So glad you're continuing with Jesmonite, Claire. I, for one, am not tired of it at all! Glad you're giving it another go. 😊👍
I love it! It’s got a 60’s,psychedelic, Twiggy the super model vibe to it. Absolutely takes me back to the days of my white go go boots that I had as a kid. Totally fun. I think you’re right about the jesmonite. It really needs to be fully cured before you cover it with another layer. Still a success in my eyes.
Claire, My heart is screaming at those colours. I LOVE bright neon colours so much. The end result is stunning. Shame about what happened, and I think it's always nice when we can share with others what happened if something goes wrong. I don't think it's anything to do with the polyurethane resin that's caused the blowout. I think it is just down to the Jesmonite wasn't fully cured and the moisture has caused the blowout. Good idea with decanting some of the liquid from the big bottle for the jesomnite. I have a massive kit of it and was wondering how the heck I was going to deal with it lol. My brain wasn't braining again xx
Well hello Ms Claire, that turned out absolutely stunning! I absolutely loved the end result. I was wondering how it was going to look and when you were done I couldn't believe how beautiful it was!❤
Super gorgeous and full of bright and awesome colors in this trinklet tray,Ms Claire 😍😍💜💜.Even when the centre lifted itself a bit,it wasn't that visible and it still is an amazing creation❤😍😍😍
Even if the jasmonite lifted itself in the end,it looks still beautiful,Ms Claire 💜😍.The tattoo sticker is beautiful, the neon colors are beautiful 😍😍😍.And this was an amazing learning experience,Ms Claire 💜💜💜
Wow, it turned out beautifully! I admit I was thinking I wouldn't like it cuz the color seemed so blobby from the back. It's gorgeous! I love your playful way of creating. I need to take that on a bit more....
Omgsh!!! So much fun!! The background with the tattoo on top is gorgeous. The compass is really cool that it’s raised! Makes it 3D and make a statement!!!
I love the neon choice for this against the black tattoo and the white, lovely tray. I didn't realise you could mix mica into jesmonite, I've ordered some AC100 to try so I'll be doing this. Last year I made a resin tray and a couple of days later backed it with PU and a week later a soggy patch appeared in the PU, Resin Pro had no idea why it would take so long to react if it was a moisture reaction. So your next result will be interesting to see.
This is soooooo cool, Claire! I’ve not gotten into the resin art yet, notice I say YET. Lol I’m still just working with Hydrostone, but this is so pretty, that I might have to take up the resin. 🤗
I think it is really beautiful. I also think the "hill" in the middle makes it that much more unique. It's a beautiful piece of art. Not all trays have to be functional. ❤
It is still very pretty! It makes sense if the polyurethane hardens very quickly and does not breathe, that any moisture left in the jesmonite causes that bowing effect. But love the colors and it is very cheerful!
I love these results! The colors pop! For some reason, I thought that if you were using eco pours with resin, that you can add resin to eco, but not eco to the resin. I’m amazed!
I can't believe you did a resin sandwich as I did the exact same thing last week with resin, jesmonite and fast set resin! What are the chances of that?! Xxx
The colours are beautiful, and so fresh! These aren't the kind of colours I would personally want in my decor, but they are objectively stunning. Would it be an experiment if it worked out on the first try? The moisture from the jesmonite had nowhere to escape, and it loosened the tattoo and the epoxy. It's amazing how the smallest drop of moisture can do duch damage - but you'll get it next time!
Hi Claire love it and the colours 😍, iv bought the neon powders from lets resin they look amazing but be careful when mixing as i got some grainy bits on demould i would say mix mix and mix again i dont think its as fine as mica if that makes sence, oh strange reaction, pitty about your tray 😢, just means you get to make another one 😉 thanks for sharing ❤❤❤ xxx
I recently made some badge reels with the poly resin, and after about a week, 2 had huge bumps formed on them. So it may not be the jezmanite. But your tray still looks so pretty!
Have you tried coated the top layer with another clear coat to even out the lump? I know it won’t give you a raised side, but it would be a nice long coaster that could hold a two cups/glasses instead of one. Or cup & milk for use with a tea pot. Or a cup of tea where you can sit your biscuits next to the mug. Anyways, I have found myself in a position where I am not fond of the lump which I think most of us wish wasn’t there. But what I do love is how the section that is raised up is more grey than black & I am surprised at how I like the slightly faded colour look of the tattoo. I wonder if there is a way that can be replicated but without the tattoo coming away & causing issues elsewhere. I loved this video as it surprised me as I am not a neon kinda girl, but I loved the finished piece. I hope you can rescue it so that it doesn’t go unused.
Thank you for the experiment, it is appreciated! I love this mold….and the temporary taco you used is perfect. Was your jesmonite product you used a beige before you added the color? There are so many different ent products like this out there. But I really want to try the polyurethane resin. Thank you! 🧭🌺

I'm interested in seeing how this tray is in the future, if it settles back or stays elevated. I love the colors, very 80's! :D
Ab fab as always 😁 Thank you.
Stunning.. love the bright colors and the technique… so you are suggesting to wait a day to let the jesmonite dry before top coating with resin?
