An interesting point about where Mbappe is from, Paris (essentially plays in his home town)… something like 50-something World Cup players 2018 were from France, most of them in and around Paris… the outskirts of Paris have by far the most high-level soccer youth development programs in the world… a lot of the players are from families of African immigrants from various former French colonies… so they get their training and refinement around Paris and then some can go play for the African country of their parents’ heritage, that’s why French players overrepresented in the World Cup where they don’t all play for France. Certain suburbs of Paris (banlieue) are also famously ghetto, and some players grew up hard around there, so it’s really competitive. So anyway, even though Spain, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, England, Belgium, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina all have exceptional soccer development, as far as individual cities the area around Paris makes up arguably the soccer capital of the world, even though the French top league itself isn’t as good as say Germany’s, England’s or Spain’s.
lets be real about this: they only play for their parent's country's team if they're not good enough. All the world class players pick france for competition because its arguably the best team in the world (played 4 world cup finals out of last 8 , like if you go to the world cup final 50% of the time you're facing france its an insane stat)
the funny thing is that there have been alot of football players that have hit higher top speed than mbappe and that have been faster in general. But he seems so fast
