I can say for sure that if I was a staffer coming in to a leadership position of men with actual combat experience at their level of expertise, I would defer to their leadership and advice and learn as much from them as I possibly could. Nothing else makes sense to me. I do know that there is a lot that I don't know. I don't know how much I don't know but I do know that they know more than I know about what they know!😊 To sum it up, big egos don't stop bullets.

You, sir, are a wise man who knows that one aspect of good leadership is knowing when to let the experts on your team step up and shine
Unfortunately, a lot of people let their egos take over & don't know when that time comes

Having thirty-two years of government experience, thirteen as a supervisor, I've seen a lot of this 'management hiring mentality'. It's just scary when one realizes, it's in place, for the most critical (and life threatening) agencies.

Same in corporate life. There's an assumption you can manage without domain expertise - complete nonsense. It destroys businesses and kills people.

its intentionally put in place as part of the larger agenda to destabilize the country
the people at the top of the intel agencies and mil-complex are sociopaths
they are promoted and selected because they are sociopaths
but they arent actually in charge of anything
they are taking their orders from the real "deep state"
the think tanks and elites that own washington DC, all the politicians, and the military industrial complex
when someone like General Milley or Sec. Austin is promoted they are promoted because they weak and incompetent. They wont ask questions and do what they are told by the real "people" in charge"

This work dynamic can also be seen in all civilian business organizations. Lots of middle managers that cannot do the operational work.
They just manage people even though great people doesn’t need to be managed. People just need to be inspired as #SteveJobs once put it, in one of his early days interviews.

In my first year of college I thought I wanted to be a psychiatrist and work for the CIA with an interest in black site operations. Only way to join was through military affiliation. Suffice to say it was disappointing considering I had chosen to go to college and was committed, at the time, rather than enlisting at 18. But also considering the crazy shi the CIA/military does and my own interests in the macabre, I’m actually grateful for the filtering process.

@@jayhara6038 I served 34 years in my countries Navy. I'm Canadian. Accepting the ultimate risk does not give on the right to be unethical, dishonest, and, especially where the use of force is concerned, driven by a political ideology as has been happening over the past few decades. I get it, there are many good agents, just like there are many good cops, but having the power to legally end someone's life comes with great responsibility, and I don't see many agencies accepting any responsibility. Can you name one person in the CIA, FBI, or other agency who has been held to account for any of the deadly mistakes made in the past 30 years?

This seems to be exceptionally common throughout the government.
One of the things that stood out to me reading 13 Hours was that the 5 members of Diplomatic Security Team added altogether had less combat experience than a *single* average GWOT infantryman. Who tf are they hiring? Why tf would they place those people in that situation and believe that everything would work out just fine? Stupidity at its finest.

The mentality of “leadership” is not only wrong in the government it has either trickled down or comes from the private sector as well. “Led by the unknowing, serving the ungrateful”. Quota hires, and college degrees don’t always translate to good leaders, and sadly actual good leaders don’t match up with the corporate model of today. This is why we’ve seen incompetence and just complete lack of awareness of what’s really going on from management in most companies.
