It’s called incompetence and not fit for purpose. We are still missing the spine of the team after 5 windows and the Chalobah situation was the last straw.
Refute what Matt Law says about Disasi, he's not the only one. So many bought and sold again, also making comparisons with Romans era, and Marina and Micheal is quite frankly a cop out in favour of this regime. Clearly require a striker that is stubbornly being avoided. I tell you now there is discontent bubbling over these owners and the direction we are heading.
I get that Matt needs to be diplomatic .. he's a journalist, not an opinion writer and likely the SD's are within his pool of contacts. But it is a head shaking squad construction - no top level GK, signing or relying on players with big injury questions (Fofana, Lavia, Neto), giving yourself no effective second option for a striker. In terms of the Neto deal, it comes across as an agent play - and maybe one in hindsight that was above the level of the SD's. Buying someone for that much money, with that type of injury record, and not crazy production level before was madness. The one that can be levelled at them IMO is the amount of talent that they as a group have signed from clubs that they used to work with. It talks to an inability to scout the market when a large % of signings have past history at Brighton, Monaco or Man City youth teams
4 months ago this guy was saying “Neto does look a good player.” Now he’s calling the Neto signing “madness.” Injuries haven’t been a problem for Neto this year so this is nothing but 20\20 hindsight and reactionary, prisoner-of-the-moment nonsense.
Yeah four months ago after his first couple of games - that he played well in - I said he looked like a good player. But that it was a massive risk to sign someone for so much, on such a long deal; with such an injury record. The only thing that has changed is that the good performances have become far less frequent
Sporting Directors- Look at the recruitment: No top goalkeeper One left back Maresca has lost faith in Gusto so one right back and that’s James who’s hugely injury prone One DM fit Light in central midfield 3 number 10’s Wingers not really delivering goals or assists No top striker Those are the facts
Which other sporting director(s) have had the privilege of choice and money like ours? I can hardly think of any. If Villa fans, who sit 3 points behind us and are in Champions League, are complaining about Monchi, then we have a lot more right to complain. Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart have to be under severe pressure, no other way. Ideally we should be comfortably in top 4 and close to the title by 3rd season of the 'process', but BlueCo will BlueCo.
Brown envelope matrix full steam ahead. Three years on and six transfer windows in, any faith in this kindergarten "not for football" model (Nagelsmann) is dwindling by the day. Thousands of fans finding themselves locked out of home and away games due to Ticket-tout Boehly's Vividseats is of more concern. How about some real journalism-INVESTIGATE TICKET-GATE!
Instead of wingers providing the width with fbs tucking inside, we should let fbs provide width. Gusto and james are better that way and Chilwell is useable. That means wingers are narrower and you could go Felix, nkunku palmer across the 3....
Leaves the back line too open. Part of the reason the full backs tuck in is to help the midfield when we lose the ball, which protects the back 4. Can't do that if they're in opposition's box instead. Personally wanted TT back with part of the reason being he won't hesitate playing a back 3, which would then allow us to use two 10s like we did under him last time. Felix and Nkunku would both fit in that. Sancho and Palmer likely starting. It has its own shortcomings, but I prefer starting with that balance over a back 4 with narrow front 3.
@@hnaku8748 And when the Fullback is inverted a simple diagonal ball into the space where the full back can’t cover the opposition wide player has free reign it’s so easy to get behind as we saw in pre season where Celtic smashed us
Maresca is adamant on this : "I don't like full-backs bombing up and down" - and with James he does have a valid point re the injury risk of endless sprinting.
@@markaldridge5089 Oh I know Maresca doesnt like it - but honestly with the players we have thats their strong suit - not just the FBs but the attackers too - we have more that like to sit inside than hold the width. It makes way more sense to just give in for this season and use what we have - then develop his way in training and ready for next season once some have gone and a few others come in.
Just bring Mourinho and Lampard in as sporting directors. Their talent ID for the spine would be crucial if they had the backing. If we got Haaland when Lampard asked for him… We’d be having very different conversations right now.
Managerial changes, player injuries, underperforming players, squad duplication, goalkeeping, striker, youth, experience, leadership. Too glaring some of the basic mistakes.
The funny thing is that data led scouting would have dismissed Peter Osgood because as he admitted in his Autobiography he was not going to run around chasing lost cause he saved his energy for what he did best. Ernie Foss who discovered a lot of good players Greaves Venebles Bridges and more said that he could see a kid do one thing in a trial that showed him that the boy understood the game. Osgood in his trial played four or five passes that were to no one because players were not running off the ball. where players on his wave length would have run to. Those spaces. The stats would say five bad passes.
On rotation of wingers, if anything they don't switch enough. They were being subbed every 45 mins at the start of the season and were doing better than now but whatever about subs they should be switching wings. We've become one dimensional.
I do not think Neto has been poor as stated wen he has been given multiple things to do...track back attack wide, inside forward. His role shld be defined accding 2 y he was bought. More so, cfc shld buy a striker who can play wit wide attackers n all. Thank you
If u have two top players in every position the manager will always be tempted to change every couple of games It’s a very bad idea 50m for Neto. Give him a run or don’t sign him It’s kids stuff !
The SDs came from Monaco and Brighton. That is the footballing level they understand. Chelsea are now a mid-table team. There is nobody at the club with any experience of winning anything. They don't look capable of ever winning the PL with these players. I don't understand why the owners bought Chelsea, one of Europe's elite clubs. Rather than win trophies with a world-class manager and players, the Abramovich model, they are trying to develop players and sell them at a profit. That is not working either. They should have bought West Ham or Brentford, it would have been cheaper.
Jeeez....this small talk from Matt is exausting this time. I get the need to be a diplomat, but come on. When we can expect the results? Club spent well over 1bn and most of our buisness was and is not good enough. What is more, we lack spine and we will undergo 4th rebuild in the summer. Which are frustraiting things beacuse: A-we are still beating around the bush with "project" and B-club was never patience enough to stick to said project, manager ideas or talents. We spent huge amounts on players and given many 6-7+ deals just for them not to be necessary 6 months later. Fuck those SDs, they are awful
Lets face it, anyone with an open cheque book and a tiny amount of football knowledge, could spend a billion and come out with 4 or 5 good players. Would they keep their job??
Wow all for a few quid hey matt.We are in a mess with these guys in our club.no player will join us and why would they ,if they play well they get sold ,no one is safe ,,we are a joke in the football world .We need a rebuild after 1.5 billy spent .

Just because someone isn't saying what you want to hear, doesn't mean it's bad reporting.
100% it's mad how people are such slaves to their emotions lol
If the owners say don't buy anyone over 24 then they are hampered in putting together a cohesive team for the next 12 months.

You're talking about football from 80 years ago you absolute weapon lll
Tough to build a team anchored by Sanchez, Jackson, Madueke, Sterling/Mudryk who are gone. House with pillars anchored in mud.

As long as we only buy youth we will never go where we want them to.
If chelsea sticks with Sanchez and Noni and does not look to get a striker, we will be lucky to just win the conference league

The level of arrogance being displayed but Matt Law is amazing trying to defend the bohley & Co after the standards of the club on and off the field
The level of arrogance and ignorance being displayed by you to think that you know $h1t about football

It’s delusional to say Some players can’t play Maresca ball. What in hell is maresca ball ? what has he won before? over hyped timid football

Looking like another season of dross next season if these directors stay...
