I think you all do not understand children's psychology. Children tend to get attached to whoever loves them. They do not understand the differences between true and step relationships, for them everyone is dear one if they are available for them even a random stranger. They just go with whoever provides them with what they want. This is the reason why small kids tend to trust strangers just for a toffee. If they could differentiate, we would never see cases of child abductions and abuses.

But the fact that she's not bothered at all now even after seeing her mother cry or seeing the other woman sleep in her mom's bed is questionable. Kids are very smart and sensitive regarding their parents too. When the son stood up arham when he was slapped, that made sense.
