Ah, I grew up watching this series. Brings back fond memories of me wishing I was a little french girl in a french boarding school. Thanks for uploading!
This will always be my most favourite show ever, since i was little, and my name is also Madeline, so i always thought this show was mine, still watching now many years later and will always be my best memory of growing up, i use to have a doll and every disc and book but sadly can only find the books. Nothing will ever beat this
I have this on video and @ the end if this I'm thinking 'is that it? I thought it was linger'. Then I realized u have the Bad Hat episode straight after this one. Lol! Poor Madeline! She's so cute!
and one final point: when i was little i never understood any of the lyrics to the songs madeline or the other girls were singing, except for "i'm madeline" of course. years later after watching this the first time everything pretty much makes sense now :)))
i like the salesman at 1:08--"only 843 francs!" "only 842 francs!" then later, "for you, 839 francs!!" lol adult subtleties in kids' movies make me smile xDDD
THE TRUTH .::. the girls school is a boarding school, and the smallest and bravest is Madeline. None of them are orphans, and the school is not an orphanage. However, in the film, with Hatty Hones as Madeline, Madeline was an orphan. Since, back then, if you were an Orphan you would be a member of the church. Miss Clavel, being a "nun", was given the duty of looking after Madeline It so happened that Miss Clavel worked at a boarding school for girls. But in the original, she is NOT an orphan.
I listen to the song in this video whenever I feel a hundred times as scared. It makes me feel better. Whenever I feel a hundred times as scared, I feel like I'm getting appendicitis(not the kind that puts me in the hospital to have my appendix taken out).
@TotallyBindiWorld just adding to your comment here, in the feature-length movie madeline lost in paris she was also made an orphan, but in that particular case that became an important plot element
@3jennybenny In th original books and tv specials Madeline was not an orphan. In the tv special "Madeline's Christmas" both of her parents are alive and they visit her for Christmas. However, after the live action film starring Frances McDormand was created Madeline becoame an orphan.
In the tv series Madeline has parents & is just going to boarding school, but in the movie specials & the live film adaptation they made her an orphan??? :(
@entertainer1987 so just so we're clear, the house the girls stay in isnt an orphanage but a boarding school? my whole life i thought it was an orphange lol which confused me on how the parents are in the christmas special lol

That’s the third part of the 1939 book adaptation of Madeline within the musical score of Jeffery Zahn & Judy Rothman.
