This is FIFA 20. Skills work similarly in FC 24.
Remember that the point is to flair shot in the middle of the skill move animation. Without doing the skill, you'll struggle doing such flair shots. The skill move makes these flair shots possible.
It takes practice to do the shot quick enough instantly when the skill executes.
Note that most of these flair shots are way easier with a passing command such as lobbed flair through pass, as there's less passing animations in the pool.
But you'd have to use manual Lobbed Through Pass -controller setting, if you want to score with this command. As a bonus, manual lobbed through passes are incredible for scoring chip shots.

For example start holding L2 + R2 after starting a skill move. As an example, flick right stick Forward and to Left or Right (from your player's perspective), then instantly L2 + R2.
Also you can start a skill move, and then instantly press flair pass or flair shot commands and your player will perform those in the middle of the skill animation.

      @@RyonMordauk thanks reply
First of all, I'm sorry for my poor English skills.
      I have 2 questions.
      1. Which do you prefer, L1+square or L1+L2+triangle, when you play flair passes or shots?
      2. When I tried flair shots and passes, does the animation go out randomly?
For example, dribble, stop, and make a flair pass, okocha or Side Flick will never go out.
      thanks your reply!!

L2+L1+triangle is in my opinion amazing for passing, it'll also perform all the fancy flair passes, and is viable for lofted trivela passes. For me it's one of the best ways to pass from the wings, along with L2+Square.
I mostly score with Driven Trivela Cross -command, using L2 L1 R1 + square (you can see examples of that in my newest Neymar & Garnacho video). This makes all flair shots become very powerful, and they basically won't go over the goal.
If I'm farther from the goal, and the goalkeeper rushes out, then it's more viable to score with L2 + Square or L2+L1+Triangle. Otherwise these aren't viable, as they go over the goal if you try them close-up.

      @@RyonMordauk oh really thank you!!
so, Do I also use the roving through pass manually?
I got to know the new charm of the game thanks to you. Thank you so much.

@@Alpacinozz Lobbed Through Pass -controller setting must be on manual, if you want to aim them towards the goal. In some situations they are very useful, for example L1+Triangle does insane chipshots that are very different from the normal.
But I often have this on Semi, because L2 + L1 + Triangle passes are so amazing, and they're rather hard to master with manual.
Usually it's best to have most passing settings being on Semi, and then use just 1 as manual (for example Lob Pass Assistance). This will make it slightly easier to do great passes, while still doing amazing manual pass crosses / flair lobs towards goal.
Although one could master the whole game with manual settings, but it definitely will take time. Takes probably years to become amazing with full manual.
